I remember watching some odd debate in 04 for some Senate or Governors race, I dont even remember. And they had lots of "3rd party" candidates there debating with the D's and R's. And of course there was a Green Party candidate there, a Libertarian, a Constitution Party candidate, but the one that stuck out was some lady of the "Marijuana Party." I remember watching and thinking it was so funny that was under her name on the screen on CSPAN. So today, bored, I looked it up, and it's a "party." Although not very unified, it seems their basic message is "if you are in favor of the legalization of pot join." From what I've read they basically use that as their basic issue, and take on other issues that are important to them and/or their state.

All the ladies' answers from the debate I had seen had SOMETHING to do with marijuana, it was hilarious. There are some very odd "third parties" I know. Here is a website of the Marijuana Party :

Do you have a Four Wheel Drive party in America? Over here our last senate election had about sixty parties on it.

There was an independent candidate in Brisbane, Australia, called 'Michael Marajuana' or something (he'd had his name offically changed by deed poll).

It's things like this that remind me why I'm so happy here, 10,000 miles away. :D

No we dont have that one.. We have many third parties here, although I would say the two biggest independent parties are The Green Party, and the Libertarian Party. Also some people just call themselves "Independent." Out of all 100 US Senators, there are 44 Democrats, 55 Republicans and 1 Independent.

Some of our other "third parties" are : The America First Party, American Party, American Heritage Party, American Independent Party, American Nazi Party, American Reform Party, Communist Party, Constitution Party, Family Values Party, Freedom Socialists/Radical Womens Party...there's so many..lol..

Labor Party, Independence Party, Marijuana Party, New Union Party, Prohibition Party, Socialist Party, US Pacifist Party, We the People Party, American Patriot Party, Democratic Socialists of America, the Knights Party (or the KKK Party), Pansexual Peace Party, The "Pot" Party

I guess they have campaign songs by the Dead & free munchies in the voting booth.
I'd never heard of them before now, but I remember the pot rallies in Madison from my Wisconsin college days.
