I just bought a new DVD copy program. It is called 'Easy DVD Copy" by Roxio. I have some DVDs that I was not able to copy with my other software. I would put the DVD in to copy and it would read the data and then when I put the blank DVD in it would tell me that the source did not match.
With this new program I put the DVD in to copy and a message came up saying that the DVD that I was trying to copy was too large to fit on a regular DVD, It asked me if I wanted to compress the files and remove all other content? Will that change my original DVD in any way? What will the DVD that I copy be like? It is a concert if you know what I mean. ;)
What I don't understand is how can 2 DVDs that are both 4,7 GB not be the same size?

Some DVD's can be dual layer and need to be shrinked to fit on a standard 4.7gig disc I recommend the program DVD Shrink:

DVD Shrink generally changes quality of menus and there maybe a very subtle difference in picture quality but it is very minimal.

How would I know if the DVD is dual layer? It is a DVD-R that is all that I know.

If the DVD you're copying is labeled as 4.7 GB, it's not dual-layered. Your best bet would be to rip the DVD to your hard drive (if you have the room) and then burn the DVD files to a blank DVD. But I use Nero and not Roxio, so I wouldn't know where to begin with that program. :sorry:

It depends what you are burning, really but even if you rip it to the hard drive sometimes you will still need to shrink it.
But I agree try and use nero, there was a link to it on the site I showed you.

Umm I don't get that, if the disc is just a dvd-r then there shouldn't be a problem  :sorry:

Not if you're only ripping the contents of a regular 4.7 GB DVD.

I'm confused because if it is just a dvd-r you should be able to do a simple copy-to-copy really shouldn't you  which makes me think it might not just be a 4.7gig disc.

I was finally able to burn a bunch of DVDs with this new software that I could not before. I don't get any strange message either.
I am now able to trade a bunch of DVDs that I could not before. That was the best $ that I invested in a while for this new software.
