Lots of interesting stuff. The stuff that is ticking me off the most is Alias' move to Thursdays at 7PM (central) against Survivor. As well as the lack of Scrubs on NBC's schedule. Apparently it will be a midseason replacement or something. The WB cancelled Jack & Bobby, which I think really sucks, and is moving Everwood up against CSI.

Still waiting for Fox & CBS'. The only announcement Fox has made is a renewal of Arrested Development (!!!!) and Trading Spouses.

ABC revives 'Kolchak,' axes '8 Rules'
New season also features Geena Davis as president

NEW YORK (AP) -- ABC will cast Geena Davis as a female president in the ultimate juggling act between work and family, part of a change-filled fall schedule that tries to capitalize on this season's unexpected success.

A remake of the shortlived 1970s occult series "Kolchak: The Night Stalker" is also among the three new dramas and two comedies ABC said Tuesday it will introduce in the fall.

The network's comeback this year was fueled by "Desperate Housewives," "Grey's Anatomy" and "Lost," all of which return -- although "Lost" will move back an hour to start at 9 p.m. on Wednesday nights.

The WB network also was scheduled to unveil its fall schedule Tuesday, a key moment for teen trend spotters.

Davis stars with Donald Sutherland in "Commander-in-Chief" on Tuesdays. She assumes the presidency with twin teen-agers and a 6-year-old at home, and a party that wants her to resign rather than take over for a dying president.

"It's not a political story," said Stephen McPherson, ABC entertainment president. "It's the story of a woman; it's the story of a wife; it's the story of a family."

The network made schedule changes on every night, except for Saturday's movie and Sunday, which became a powerhouse when "Desperate Housewives" became a sensation.

ABC canceled the Damon Wayans comedy "My Wife and Kids" and "8 Simple Rules," which soldiered on for two years following the death of star John Ritter. "Blind Justice," "Extreme Makeover" and "Less Than Perfect" were also axed.

But the network surprisingly renewed a handful of comedies that seemed threatened by poor ratings: "Hope & Faith," "George Lopez" and "Jake in Progress." All were given new time slots as the network spread sitcoms on three nights -- four after "Monday Night Football" ends its final year on ABC.

Following football, ABC will turn Mondays into a showcase for single people looking for love, with a new comedy starring Heather Graham and a new drama about the last man in a group of friends to get married.

ABC's other new fall series: "Invasion," about an alien invasion that will appeal to "Lost" fans; "Freddie," a comedy with Freddie Prinze Jr. as a bachelor who yearns for family; and "Hot Properties," about four women who work in a Manhattan real estate office.

ABC said it had ordered five other new series that will debut sometime during the next season.

The network also renewed both of its ratings-troubled newsmagazines, "20/20" and "Primetime Live."

Ugh, Thursdays are gonna suck! Will & Grace, Alias and Smallville are all on in the same hour!? I really hope that CBS moves Survivor to a different day, otherwise I'll be buying another TiVo... :(

Smallville freaks me out, so I'm not worried about that, but Alias & Survivor on at the same time is so not cool. Not to mention the fact that to me, Alias is SO not a 7PM show. Then, at 8PM, Everwood (I'll admit it- I like it. A lot.) on at the same time as CSI? That's not cool either.

Alias on THURSDAY? Do they WANT to kill it off? Cripes. Let's just cross our fingers that JJ brings Lena back for the whole season next year since she said she's game. If he doesn't, I'll weep.

Boston Legal will be slaughtered on Tuesday against Law and Order: SVU. They must want to kill that one off, too.

I'm happy Medium is staying put on Mondays, it doesn't really have much competition in that timeslot and usually pulls in at least 13 million. If they can Jake Weber in the future like they did on American Gothic, though, I won't watch it.

Not looking forward to an updated Night Stalker. The old one was just fine. Geena Davis' new show might be okay, who knows. Her last one sucked donkey balls.

Boo to NBC for making Scrubs a midseason show. Pricks.

They already DID Night Stalker, it was called the X Files. Chris Carter admitted to taking inspiration from that show to make the X Files.

But there will never be any shows like the XF.

I am shocked that they keep 7th Heaven and ER on. ER , I love it but watch like season 4 and watch it now...the life is sucked out of it. It's not nearly as exciting as it once was.

Really?! That is one of only 2 new shows I plan on checking out. The other is Supernatural... (and not just because Jensen Ackles is hot! ;) )

This entire schedule reeks of me being on the computer even MORE than I already am. LOL

On a regular basis, I watch Lost, CSI, ER, The Office, Desperate Housewives and Medium (although I've missed some eps)....and where the frick did Eyes go!?!?! Damn you, ABC if you cancelled Eyes already! Tim Daly is the YUM and you cancelled another of his shows??!?!?:mad:

It seems like a lot of people are getting screwed over this year. The West Wing fans, with its move to Sunday, where it will die a painful death. Alias to Thursday is awful, plus it's starting in the fall this time around, so we'll probably have to deal with some insanely long Affleck-spawn hiatus.

Diss, did you see that the new show <a href="http://www.tvtome.com/tvtome/servlet/ShowMainServlet/showid-32917/">"Invasion"</a> which is getting the timeslot after Lost is the new show from Shaun Cassidy? Which probably means it will fail miserably?

I'm thrilled to see Arrested Development picked up (to say the very LEAST), and happy about The Office, but I'm pissed as hell about Scrubs. Almost makes me want to skip buying Season 1 today on my lunch hour... nah. But I'll bitch a lot!!

They cancelled Eyes. I think it sucks, too. I REALLY liked it. They have a bunch of episodes in the can and probably won't even show them.

They also cancelled Jack and Bobby, which is a show that I am wary to admit I liked. A LOT.

Well, ABC has a tendency to can every good show they put on, so I'm kinda wary to watch any new ones on that channel. I still can't forgive them for canning Miracles. That show kicked ass. At least they just released it on DVD and I can oogle over Marissa Ramirez to my hearts content anytime I feel like it. :D

We put Miracles out, and I grabbed one, but I haven't watched it yet. Is it definitely something I need to check out?

I'm in heaven today because I got the Undeclared screener disc, with 5 episodes and some bonus features. WOOT.

Yup. Two months without it, just like in season three. It's bad enough that they're only ordering 20 episodes, too.

 It's from Shaun Cassidy? That means that just like American Gothic, it's going to be heartbreakingly fantastic and then quickly canceled. And just like American Gothic, it'll never get released on DVD and we'll have to watch the episodes on ****ty VHS until the tapes finally die. -_-

I'm thrilled to see Arrested Development picked up (to say the very LEAST), and happy about The Office, but I'm pissed as hell about Scrubs. Almost makes me want to skip buying Season 1 today on my lunch hour... nah. But I'll bitch a lot!!

Get it at Best Buy if you can, it comes with a bonus DVD of deleted scenes and other such ****.

Since you like Medium and American Gothic, you'll probably love it. It's one of those cult shows that got canceled as soon as it started because it was just too good for most television viewers. It came on as a midseason show in '03 and then got constantly shuffled around because of the war coverage. Really great show and the cast is awesome. I never thought I'd like Skeet Ulrich and Marissa Ramirez is too pretty for words. The DVDs are great because they have six episodes that never aired, so I was psyched.

Scrubs a mid-season? They've GOT to be kidding. Isn't it like a critic's darling? I freaking LOVE that show! Whatev.

I don't care that much anymore about TV with a few exceptions:

Desperate Housewives
Still Standing (funny as hell)
2&1/2 Men
Medium
Amazing Race
Gilmore Girls
Idol

I used to faithfully watch W&G and ER, but lately - eh.

I'm really miffed by the fact that they bumped 'Scrubs' to midseason... but reading the description for Jason Lee's new show ('My Name Is Earl'), I have a feeling 'Scrubs' will be back in no time at all!

I know I'm not tired of Survivor yet, although I wish I were. However, it's an easy choice for me. I, like- breathe Alias. So, uh, yeah.

I thought the same thing about 'My Name Is Earl'- but at the same time, I have a MAJOR soft spot for Jason Lee. I think he's just really, really hot. I used to struggle on Tuesdays at 8PM, because I really like what I've seen of House and wanted to watch it, but always picked Scrubs instead.

You're damn right I'm disappointed. :p

Seriously, I think next season will be the last. As much as it makes me weep to type those words, I think it's very true. The fact that it's being moved to Thursdays only confirms that ABC (and probably JJ) wants to kill it off once and for all. But I feel lucky that we're getting five seasons out of it, because all signs point to the fact that it should have been canned after the first season due to lackluster ratings. I've gotta hand it to ABC for once, they stuck with a cult show finally.
