Friday: After I had sorted out my Luxor reservation foul-ups (one would think they could get it right, oh well..) I wandered down the Strip around midnight to Caesars to check it out. Walking past the bar close to the Colosseum, I saw this little lady, long blonde hair, gorgeous shawl, and thought, "oh that just has to be her!". I walked into the bar and stood 2 inches away from her.
Now, you have to understand, my mother brought me up to never be rude and interrupt a conversation, and our little rock diva was deep in animated conversation with some guy. I stood next to her for a moment or two, wondering what to do, hoping she'd turn and see me, but that conversation she was in must have been fascinating.... so I turned and walked away, missing my one chance in life (probably!) to meet the wonderful lady.... gee, thanks mom!

Apart from that, Saturday's concert was amazing - she seems to have redicovered her passion, and the past 2 times I've seen her where she seemed to be singing off the prompter are duly forgotten.
My one negative note is that so little effort was made with the visual side: the stage could have been decorated, and also, having chatted her way through the Landslide intro -talking about how she had gone through hours and hours of videos and home movies - to then show nothing, was disappointing.
My guess is that after so many years of drugs, perhaps her home movies ARE psychadelic whirls and the occasional unicorn!
Maybe next time, Stevie will hire a director to take care of the visuals....

Overall, I can't wait to hear that show again, and I hope she releases a DVD of the event - it's been a long time!

Don't be too upset - you probably had an encounter with Mini-Stevie, as we've named her. Apparently, her name is Elise & she's from Jersey. A bunch of us saw her several times at Caesars.

It's always possible, but her nose, and mannerisms were very Stevie-like. I have noticed on other posts that the non-Stevie was at a particular bar, but not the one I was at. She was also wearing what appeared to be stage make-up.... regardless, it's a nice experience, and if it wasn't her, doesn't really matter... I can believe in my own little crystal vision!

Marcus usually prevents anyone from getting up next to her. During SYW..Stevie was spotted in a bar once the entire tour...the last night and security was sooo tight. Lil Stevie looks exactly like Stevie with the same mannerisms and does not travel with the entourage that Stevie does. No big, burly men by her side keeping you back and out of her conversation! I saw Lil Stevie and thought it was her too. La Nicks usually doesn't hang out in bars either, without Karen, Sheryl Louis, Marcus, her brother, yada yada. We were in a couple of the bars in Caesar's..the nicer ones..and we did see some of the backing band..which was very cool. I did hear Stevie was out on Saturday night after the show but not out amongst fans..she played blackjack in a private room with her family, entourage and friends.

Ok, Ok, I'll stop cursing my mother now! I should have complimented her on her shawl, and found out for sure, I guess... Who is this Elise and why does she think she's Stevie anyway??? It's kinda creepy, if you think about it...

I must admit to a feeling of relief: what I didn't mention earlier is that the person I saw had a rather puffy face and pasty skin. I put it down to stage make-up, but I'm relieved that it wasn't Stevie. She looks so great on stage, but you never really know until you're face to face with someone what their skin looks like.
Elise, whoever you are: get a life, (and perhaps a facial), doll!

It was a little odd to see the Stevie Stunt Double hanging out with the band & Chris Nicks.

Several people went up to her & she seemed nice. I didn't - too weird.

Maybe she confused Chris too?

Stevie's got gorgeous skin, although I've never seen her without makeup, of course! But I agree with others, sounds like an attack of... "MINI STEVIE". I found the resemblence really uncanny too. She must like the attentions she gets from that or she would change her look! Did she look extra tiny to you? Mini Stevie is like 4'11 if that.

Yeah, the group I was with were looking at her thinking... Yeah, she looks like Stevie from the back and from the side if you don't see her face..... But she is a little shorter then Stevie actually is... But it did cause me to double take when I was walking by, and say to myself... No, it can't be! It wasn't. But I too thought it was weird after Friday's show that she was standing out front with Chris Nicks... That I thought was very strange... not so much for Chris, but if I was her, I would have felt very strange!!

That was the first thing that struck me: she was short - but Stevie is only a shade over 5ft, so no surprise there. I think what struck me is that I didn't see any familiar looking people around her - but, again, didn't think it was that surprising : the bar had security, she was in a group of people who hung onto every word, and I only know what her band looks like, so, again, no surprise I probably wouldn't recognise other family or friends anyway. She wasn't smoking or drinking, again, something I would expect...
I wonder if she posts anywhere - if she's that obsessed, do you think she's hiding around here somewhere?

One thing I noticed was from far away we thought that she was older. When she passed by me (after putting makeup on in the bathroom for, like 25 minutes  ) it appeared that she's actually pretty young but packs on the makeup to look older. Again - weird.

I don't know if Stevie would go out in "Stevie clothes". To me, she would dress way down, maybe wear glasses, hardly any make up. She has to try somehow to look like an average person. Does anyone know if she changes into regular clothing when she goes out or is she Stevie all the time?

LeighB04

My first thought would be she would go out looking like Stevie is expected to look and leave the glasses and "undercover" clothes for when she's not in the public eye. If you're Stevie (or anyone famous) heading out into Caesars, you expect fans are going to come and say hi, in which case, look your best.

When I saw Stevie during SYW at a shop, she had on black pants, black un-platform Reeboks and a bat-wing blouse (sleeves not too big) that was black chiffon with red flowers on it, and big reading glasses, her hair pulled up, she definitely wasn't in show-garb - but oh how beautious!

That's really rude, imo.....LOTS of people on this board dress up like Stevie for the shows. Why don't you just tell everyone on the Ledge to get a life? Do you have perfect skin? So what if Elise looks enough like Stevie to stump people. If you had the balls to approach her, you would know what a sweet person she is.

Yes, dear, lots of people dress in homage of Stevie, but nobody I've seen tries to copy her to this degree (loading on make up to look older???) - that's a little phony for me - but that's my opinion - and this was Vegas, after all.

Balls? No sweetheart, just trying to be polite and respect her space, and I never said anything about her not being a sweet person - just a little odd, perhaps, but obsessions always are - and let's be honest here, to take that much trouble to impersonate someone (even Elvis) requires a degree of obsession...

Didn't mean to upset you - you sound like a friend of hers. If so, where did she get that shawl - it was gorgeous....?

That sounds so cute! I recognized Lori with hardly any makeup on so I think I would be able to pick out Stevie regardless of what she was wearing. Perhaps some day!

I wouldn't lump Elise into the freaky fan category. And I'm not saying anyone here who dresses up like Stevie IS necessarily a freaky fan. My point is, there are fans, and there are freaks. I've met both, and I can assure you that Elise does not fall into the "freak" category. And yes, she's a friend of mine. :)

Does she look like that all the time? Did she tell you why she takes so much effort to look like Stevie? I mean, she really did look like her. I thought it was a little strange, too. I'm glad to hear she's sweet, but that did seem like, uh, extra special effort, if you know what I mean. :)

Uh the sarcasm in some of these posts is making my stomach hurt. All the "sweethearts" and "dears"...Lordy.

Marcus would prolly not allow "bar security" or rent a cops to look after her. He is uber protective..as he should be. Sweet guy too.

She's just having a good time at the shows - and yeah, she and her hubby Joe are both into the whole Renaissance look thing anyway...so I wasn't at all surprised to learn that they wanted to go hang at Excaliber... I saw a few drag queens who apparently took more time to look like Stevie than Elise did... :D

Some people's sarcasm is just other's friendliness... oh well, to each his own!
I saw one drag queen on my way out of the theatre - wow, is all I'm saying! but I suppose if you go to that much trouble to look like your idol, it's cool. .... I think it would be more sad if people weren't as deeply touched by Stevie's music and image - heck, even I took my lace to Vegas, it was just too hot to wear it, but kudos to those who did!
