Thanks Paula! :xoxo: Yes, Stevie did blow a lot of kisses! :) She was doing that while greeting the fans too. I have a photo of her doing it but you can only see her lips and nose and some hair because someone had flowers in front of her face. Damn flowers!

Wow those pics are really good..thanks for that
Does anyone else find it kinda weird she wore the all white/cream outfit with shawl for I Need to Know instead of Edge of 17...I would think she would wear the black jacket over the cream dress for INTK instead of Edge...i dunno, thats just me lol

Well, that would be the usual attire, yes... maybe she wanted to mix it up a bit for Las Vegas

Greetings Everyone!
May 11th Review
I arrived at my seat and realized that it was way over to the side of the stage so I was seeing Stevie from a profile. I was on the ladies’ side. The seat was good although would have preferred to be in the center.
As the lights were brought down, the musical sounds of the Bootliscious filled the room...
The show began with Enchanted, Stevie came out in her trademark black dress...
While Enchanted played there were images of Stevie on the screen behind the stage, they were blown up photos of her face and were very pretty. Next came Outside the Rain with a backdrop of rain which was also not very different from what we are already used to! During Dreams there were smoky images in the backdrop.
For Draggin’ My Heart Around the blue lamp made an appearance as the backdrop! It was a photograph of one side of the lamp from the inside. Later in the song Stevie was superimposed within the blue lamp, as you can see in my photo, which was actually very cool. Now the show is starting to get different!
When Rhiannon began we were introduced to a new piano intro.
Plunket’s hands were shown on the video screen and the intro was very dramatic and built up anticipation for Stevie to come back out from her costume change. She came out with her black Rhiannon top on. The images on the screen during the song were stunning. There were images (sketches and sculptures) of various women representing Rhiannon and an animation including unicorns. This was really neat and I was thrilled to see something new! Incidentally Stevie appeared really fit and thin for this show, she looked absolutely stunning.
Stevie introduced Sorcerer with a short story about how she wrote it when she and Lindsey first arrived in LA. She said, “You can make of these words what you will but – think back.” During this song the screen showed smoky images with gold melting through and later in the song an animated kaleidoscopic view. Stevie also made an appearance on the backdrop for this song, this effect was really cool!
Then Stevie made another costume change for Stand Back, she came out with a new SB cape which was long with layers of fringe and had silver sparkles, like small, evenly spaced diamonds.
The backdrop for this was a series of black squares in a grid and to the beat of the song certain squares would light up in rectangular patterns. It was very 80s retro. I would have liked to see bits of the actual video here though. Stevie rocked this song as always and blew us a kiss at the end. J She also did one of her trademark side kicks.
When Stevie began Landslide she explained that she always dedicates the song and tonight she would dedicate it to us. She said never in a million years did she imagine playing it in Las Vegas or anywhere at the time she wrote it. There was no video backdrop for this song, just strange, lacy, block-like shapes that came down from the ceiling.
Gold Dust Woman included a gold shawl, of course, which appeared to be new.
It was sheer and very sparkly. The backdrop consisted of swirls and various images of woman with golden liquid-like graphics and then twinkling gold graphics. Stevie ended this song differently just repeating “Shadow” at the end and hiding her face behind her hands. It was mysterious and cute.
Next, a real treat for the fans. Lori comes out for If Anyone Falls, Stevie called it
If Anyone Falls in Love.
Stevie had on a black bustier top for this song. Before it began columns dropped from the ceiling. The backdrop showed images from the IAF video, the ones where Stevie is dancing with the male ballet dancer and they are wearing all white. He dips her and then spins her away. They showed a 10 second or so clip of this over and over. Further into the song the background for the dancers became the sea. Stevie and the girls sang the chorus one time a-capella and that was very cool. This song gave me goosebumps from seeing the old video up there and hearing that song live for the first time!
Next Stevie introduced her band; Al Ortiz on bass, Scott Plunket on piano, Jimmy Paxon on drums, Machito Sanchez on percussion, Brett Tuggle (“sweet Brett”) on keyboards, guitar, etc, then her three birds of Rhiannon, Lori, Jana, and Sharon, and her fourth bird Carlos Rios. Lastly, the man who’s been with her since 1971, her angel, the leader of the pack, Mr. Waddy Wachtel.
After the band intro Lori exited the stage and the girls began Fall From Grace.
The backdrop was a daytime sky. It rocked like the Blockbuster awards but was nothing different. Then, Lori returns and How Still My Love begins.
I love this song and was thrilled that it was in this set. After “you go your way” Steve sang “Go on, GET OUT” in a sassy way with her hands on her hips moving side to side and then “because you don’t forget me”, it was really dramatic.
The backdrop for this song was a dark sky with twinkling stars, very romantic.
Toward the end of this song everyone began the trek down in front because we knew from Tuesday night that Edge of Seventeen was about to begin.
The guards decided to stop everyone in the row and behind from getting down to the stage! So we tried to sneak out the other side of my row and another security guy stopped us. Then, I sort of glared at the first guy and he waved me back and let me down!
That was cool. So we were able to approach the stage right under Lori’s mike and there was a chair there! So I stood on it which was awesome.
For Edge the white shawl jacket came out with a tuxedo jacket over it.
The white outfit was layers and layers of material all the way down to Stevie’s ankles. Waddy’s intro was extended and the backdrop was his part from the Sorcerer video. It really built up the song. Later in the song the backdrop was an animated hi-contrast dove in flight. At the end of the song Stevie did her greeting of the fans in front which was so exciting, as always!
Next the tuxedo jacket came off revealing all of that white outfit underneath and
I Need to Know began.
This is such a fun encore song and everyone was bouncing around to it. Stevie brought out the tambourine to rock out with to this one.
For the finale ... Stevie went off stage for another costume change.
She came out to begin Beauty and the Beast with her hair up and wearing a floor length velvet cape with a circular stand-up collar and sweetheart neckline.
The back of the cape had beautiful detailing. She came down in synch with the
Jean Cocteau Beauty and the Beast movie in the background, the original inspiration for this song. This knocked me out as with everyone else.!
I’ve not ever seen any footage from that film. It is so visually stunning and Stevie emoted this performance like I’ve never seen before, she acted it like a stage actress.
Vocally, she was truly within her right... vocals of that of an opera songstress, and all of her hand movements and facial expressions were very dramatic and moving.
I wished not for this night to ever end. When it did Stevie said to us “You are my beauties.” which was so incredibly sweet.
Being on the floor with all of us fans for that was a transcending experience. The experience, here upon this evening was a blessing... one to have felt fortunate to be there and was very grateful for every moment. Should Stevie decide to perform in Vegas again count me in!
Now... onward towards Calif tour dates for the Magick to continue...
... black moons in those eyes of hers made more sense to me...
she was dark at the top of the stairs and she called to me...

Yes, I found this weird. I kept double checking my notes and pics and was like, "yeah, that was Edge cuz that's when she shook our hands and she's wearing the jacket!" But it seemed backward to me too although at the show I really didn't give it much thought. I was just into it all.

One of which emailed me her account of the show of this wondrous evening!
With being caught up within the excitement of the shows, not realizing until after the post of Suzy's account was sent, only then did I discover that it was sent quickly without the mention of
"per Suzy's review of the show" .
Apologies for any confusion.
I merely meant to share the excitement of this wondrous weekend!"
and my reply :

"Nan that's not exactly what happened---you changed some words..and made it all "fairy" like...no confusion, I think you went to the show, didnt feel like writing a review---and or maybe you didnt go I dunno--and wanted to pass it off as your own, by adding your own "touch" of "fairy dust" lol"

+10 for the usage of the term fairy-like. Perhaps she just won't own up to the fact that she made a mistake in passing something off as her own? Speaking of fairy dust, us girls went to the mall under Aladdin and a woman at one of the shops we went into sprinkled some on us

Well, I didn't know he was looking! He'd flown out with us and we chatted briefly...kept glancing at each other during the flight, etc. We got off of the plane and he busted our balls because he didn't check his luggage and we had to wait and find ours. Next thing you know, bam! He's gone. Kelly and I didn't fly home together. I flew by myself at 11:50. She was on a later flight that had an hour layover in Phoenix. Mr. Hottie shows up in her line. Ironically, they're on the same flight. She wants to call me but at this point, i'm in the air. Mr. Hottie tells her that he tried to find us and ends up sitting with her for the entire flight. Kelly is married so she's not going to get the guys number for her single friend (cause that would be weird) but I could kick myself! Honestly! The funny thing is that I swore I'd seen him somewhere before but couldn't place his face. Ahhh... :distress:

To be honest with you, I thought that it was Susan's review as well but Susan is Gypsy63 and I don't think she would have double identities....anyway, doesn't matter, right? : )
I met sweet Susan about 7 or 8 years ago at NOTS in New York and I have a photo album with pictures of her and her friend from the event....sorry, can't remember her friend's name...anyway, I knew that Susan would be there and I spotted her and yelled hello...I wish I could have talked to her more but it was so close to the concert starting that I couldn't possible miss one second!
By the way, she looked beautiful in her outfit, as usaual. She was wearing a beautiful dress and shawl that was green(?) and cream colored.
I saw her very close to me when the audience in the orchestra section was allowed to move towards the stage. So, to FltwdMcSn....I must have seen you, too...did you notice that someone said something to Lori and she smiled so wide?
I probably should have posted my seat and row but no one else did so I didn't, either....
That was a great review, by the way!
Oh, what a night...
Always,

Lame, so lame. Always lay-hame. That's weird you thought you saw him buh fore. Why does the married chick always get to hang out with the hot guy? I'm good at this, though, if I was the friend, I would've done the number thing for you. Yes, I have no shame...

Greetings Chris...
Be it as it may, politely poke fun of my writing style and choice of words... when warranted.
You of all people on this board Chris, should know of my belief and ethic morals within the workplace, as well as within life.
Note to all, once again I shall reiterate - the initial post was from my dear friend Suzy.
Within my haste, coupled with the hectic work schedule, wanting to share the weekend's experience with all of you, my friends, I shared her account of the evening.
With one great error... the exclusion of three little words:
"Suzy's Review Follows"
By no means did I intend, or inisinuate to make it as my own!?!!
Being a published authour, I take great pride within my work, in addition to anything that I sign my name to.
I have not, nor have I ever plagiarized another's printed words or work.
It is deeply insulting that you think I would be capable of this act.
This would be on the low ranking to that of an individual that stoops to all lows, of which he shall remain nameless... shall we be following within his footsteps?
Goddess I trust not!
With reading the board the week prior to the Vegas shows, the intent was to bring to those here, on this board, unable to attend, a bit of Stevie experience of that wondrous night into their lives.
Excuse me for sharing the Stevie love.
... black moons in those eyes of hers made more sense to me...
she was dark at the top of the stairs and she called to me...

Hottie's name is Paul and damn, he is one fine piece of man. The layover did not seem quite so awful with him next to me. Yea, I am married but for 2.5 seconds I actually considered saying yes to his offer of Petty tickets. I could have given it to you, Riss! He made a point to say "hey I went into Caesar's last night after the Stevie show looking for you guys".......aggghhhhhh...I guess it is a good thing I missed him. He was pretty tempting. I think we should go to the TP concert here in Philly Marissa and look for him for you!!!!
