First of all, there are no words to describe what an incredible feeling it is to meet & hang out with so many people who feel the same way that you do about Stevie & Mac. I will never forget this trip, it was one of the best times I've had - ever. I mean that. So great to see Tiff (enchantedsln), Anita, Kelly & Marissa (gardenstategirlie) again, as well as Theresa (bikerchic) - my usualy partner in Stevie crime. ;) If I have to sit next to someone on a plane for 5 hours, I'm glad it was you. :xoxo:

Amber. Roomie. Pal. Love of my...oh wait, that's not quite right. :p I had so much fun hanging out with you. You are a trip, thanks for the cig & forcing me to play that slot machine (making me a little richer!) :D

I met so many new friends, I know I'll forget to mention several, but: Jim (seeker - again, thanks so much for setting up the meet & everything!), Deborah (goldandbraid), Sue (suzequze), Alex (greatdarkwing), Pattie (welshwitchpmd), Nancy (sodascouts), Kristen (can't remember what your screen name is, sorry!), Mariel (xxxmx, ) Mike (poetinmyhear), to name a few. The people I met but can't recall the names is endless. So sorry. :sorry:

OK, so brief summary of personal stuff:

*Pool at Flamingo un-f*cking-believable. Gorgeous. Nice room too.
*Won $200 in one shot, then lost a total of $90 here & there. Still up $100.
*Food at Cheesecake Factory & Nine Fine Irishmen phenomenal. Food at Margaritaville not bad. Food at hotel cafe reminded me of poop.
*Wynn hotel very beautiful. I've seen most of the other hotels before, so I won't get into that.
*Weather awesome - around 80, I would estimate
*Breakfast at Paris buffet sooooooo worth $13. Freshly made crepes while you wait? What more could you ask for?

I will continue more soon, my computer keeps booting me offline & I'm not losing everything I just typed. Be right back with actual show info. :wavey:

Tiff and I apparently missed the chocolate fountain on (we cut through the Bellagio on our pilgrimage to Walgreens). That's awesome though. *marks on list of stuff she needs to see next trip* I still can't believe YOU WON ON THE SLOTS!!! Bitch. ;) I had a blast with you all. We should make this a yearly event

Personal pics:Did you go on the roller-coaster at NYNY?

Somebody should plan a big fan convention (like the ones they used to have in Texas). Hundreds of fans could attend from all over the . . . country, I guess . . . & people could sell & trade their wares, share their photos & videos, perform karaoke or play music for one another, & bring in guest speakers. Everybody sets up a booth & just hangs out.

OK, just my opinions here. I went Tues & Wed.

First of all. The minor disappointments I felt (return of the Reeboks, not too many costume changes, no Nightbird or Bella Donna like in my dreams) were blown far, far away as I watched the show. I feel nothing but lucky to have been able to see this show. No regrets - not a single one. Really.

*Dreams dance mix intro: We must get our hands on this. We simply must.
*Screen shows her walking from the "I Can't Wait" video & Stevie walks out in black layered skirt, Reeboks with black rouched legwarmers (like the ones she used to wear that were beige) Black beaded fitted top with sweetheart neckline.
*Enchanted: Very upbeat, lively, lost of tambo & dancing. Great "whoa-whoa-whoa I hope you make its" from Stevie. The photos of her on the screen were breathtaking. She twirled at the start of this on Wed.
*OTR: I am one of the people who loves this song, especially live. I have heard better versions, I have heard worse. I was satisfied. Lots of rain on the back screen. She did not go crazy on "isthereanyoneinthiswholewideworldthatcaneverreplaceme." But she did do a few "then take it away. Take it AWAY!"
*Dreams: A good solid rendition of this classic #1 hit from the 70s. Again, the lighting on the screen was beautiful.
*SDMHA (I believe this was dome before OTR on Tues?): I usually prefer older versions, but she was really on for this one. VERY animated, lots of pointing, yelling "STOP!" dancing around.
*Goes in back, comes out in black flowy low-cut Rhiannon top. Same skirt?
*Rhiannon: piano intro, then rock version. It was similar to SYW shows, IMO. She was really pulling the mike back, leaning into it for "well your dreams unwind and your loves a state of mind..." I think Tues was just a "dream on, silly dreamer" but I could swear that Wed was "dream on, HEY, you silly, silly silly dreamer." I could be mistaken. I did not like the screen for this - weird statues & then those f*cking unicorns. As if Stevie needs to give detractors more ammunition.
*Sorcerer: great screen, smoky, then fire, then kaliedoscope designs. The ending was awesome! She was way more into this than at the TISL show I saw. Whipping her dress & Rhiannon sleeves around, hands movements all over the place, powerful "wild eyed, tired, thirsty yeah, in my misery's"

To be con't :D

I'm 99% sure it was Bellagio, but it was near the shops, NOT the hotel itself. I want to say it's near one of the entrances, near an escalator?

I did not do the coaster. I didn't do anything that cost $$$ this time (except eat, drink, gamble....) And I would sooooo get together every year with these people!

*Goes in back, puts on new sparkly black shawl. Hair went up at this point on Tues. Wed. it stayed down.
*Stand Back: Oh, how I love this song live. All the time. It cannot disappoint me. Ever. She was right on vocally. She did do a kick on Wed, but I was not expecting one since there wasn't on Tues. No pic, sorry. The back screen was bright, but very cool - high energy. Of course, if someone has seizure disorder, I hope they closed their eyes for it. ;) Also, during the guitar solo, no twirls but she went up behind Carlos & Waddy REALLY close. I didn't know you could freak, Stevie?!?!

Forgot to say that 1) SDMHA - lots of live shots of her on the back screen (you'll see in the pics I'll post in a minute)
2) We think she came in too early on Sorcerer on Wed. Waddy was going into that little guitar thing before the "I'm tired, I need you badly" but Stevie started singing right over it. Not sure if she screwed up or if he did.

*Landslide: Not the same without LB. But it was good. No footage on screen. The girls sounded pretty. Tues - no dedication. Wed - dedicated "to all of you"
*Goes in back, comes out in new shawl - beigey/goldy/pinky. Pretty.
*GDW: Wed was better than Tues. She did not do a great "go hoooooooome" on Tues - it was like she started low, then switched it up, then tried to change it again? Wed was much better as far as that part. Good ending, both nights, she's still doing the "shadow" thing, covering her face, love it. At the end Tues, I coudn't see the pose well. But Wed. Waddy kind of crouched down & she did the pose kind of hovering over him. A little different than usual, pretty cool, I thought.
*Lori comes out (VERY thin. Shockingly thin, IMO. Was she always THIS thin?) Tues she wore black pants with silver hooks up the sides (some loved, some hated; I loved) and a black leather jacket. Wed she matched Jana & Sharon in tight black sparkly dresses & knee-high boots. THAT must have been what Stevie meant about pulling clothes out of trunks. I think thsoe came from the one labeled "1985." Sorry, they are all beautiful, but the outfits seemed dated to me.
*Quick intro by Stevie to If Anyone Falls. Slowed down a bit, but it was good to hear for a change. Pillars dropped from the ceiling & they showed the video on the back screen.

*Fall From Grace: High energy, sounded like she was hitting all the right notes. Lots of hand movements, pointing. Back screen purple clouds, lightening, stormy type stuff.
*How Still My Love: On Tues, when I realize what it is, I say "Oh My God" loud enough for the security guy to look at me to make sure I'm OK. I was so surprised, I LOVE this tune live. Tues, it was good but it was like she was being cautious, wanting to make sure it was right. Wed she let loose. The woman had hand on hip, staring daggers, shaking her head for "they say you're not the man for me." She did "well this is ME talking to you" but not very high. She was adorable for this tune, LOTS of attitude. Awesome. Just awesome. Dark blue starry sky on back screen.
*Goes in back, changes into beige/gold layered skirt & long black coat (tux coat?) Did she have on the Edge shawl from the Bella Donna vid too? Did I imagine that? My mind says yes, but my Wed. pics say black jacket. Maybe shawl was Tues?
*Waddy starts Edge intro. Back screen shows his parts from the Sorcerer vid. Tues Theresa & I are 5th row on the side (section 2). We make our way to the front but we are way over on the end of the stage, way too low to reach her. Wed Theresa, Amber & I are 10th row section 5. We run down the aisle & get held back by security. A woman is trying to leave (To pee? Now? Idiot!) So I slide by as she goes through. Amber & Theresa are stuck in his clutches. I am standing right at the stage toward closer to Stevie than Tues. I am shaking as I try to determine if I have a chance at shaking her hand.
*Edge: another tune that simply cannot disappoint me. The energy she always has for this song is palpable to me, gives me chills. Jana starts a whole measure early Wed. No one else sings - just her. Kind of embarrassing. I wonder if Sharon kicked her ass after the show (I'm KIDDING people!) Both nights were awesome, my pics are from Wed. She looked right at me & Theresa on Tues & waved down at us. On Wed, she came down approximately 2 feet too far over for me to reach her. I tried. :( But I'm OK. I guess. Lots of hugs, kisses, handshakes, waves.
At the end, she was going nuts "Somewhere deep in the middle of the night, I still think about you! I know what it sounds like! I know what it sounds like!" Leaning into the mike, pulling it back, pointing at the crowd. At the end on Wed - I swear to God, she just throws the mike forward on its base like "and that's it!" and stares straight ahead for a few seconds. IT WAS SO COOL!!!
*INTK: Good, lively, nice vocal. For the record, she DOES still say "take your violet and blue mornings with you" but she starts it away from the mike so all you hear is "mornings with you!" I saw her sing it. From the bottom of the steps at the Colisseum. ;)

The end is near. Tues, I'm figuring she'll end with Highwayman. I hear the piano. My jaw drops. There are hushed whispers in the crowd (I swear I'm geting chills typing this right now.)

This wonderful woman floats out wearing a long black velvet cloak with a collar up high behind her neck, plunging sweetheart neckline. Hair is up. There is a strip of embroidery (or a chain? or rosettes?) running down the back from her lower back down to the ground. Her skin is pale. She is stunning. People audibly gasp (myself included.)

Beauty and the Beast. I am one of those people that can be brought to tears when this song comes on. Even the CD version. I thought I would have a heart attack. Everyone had tears rolling down their cheeks - guys and chicks. Security thought we were nuts.

Tues was better for one reason & one reason only - you could hear a pin drop in the place. Literally. Everyone was shocked into silence. So emotional. I've never seen or heard anything like it. It's like she gave us her heart & soul through her voice. Wed she was spot on, but the screams of "I love you" and "sing it for me" and WWWWOOOOOOOOHHHHHHOOOOOO!" took a little of the magic away for me. But both nights, she was amazing. Graceful hand movements, twirls, looking as if she were about to cry. The entire time, clips from the 1920' French version of the movie (which inspired Stevie to write the song, if you'll recall) played on the back screen. I felt sorrow & pain & loss in the pit of my stomach. I cried.

I captured this on video Wednesday. It is amazing. If someone would like to offer to host it (Tiff already did, but she'll be in Vegas a few more days) I will send it to you if you agree to put it up immediately to share with all the Ledgies. PM me, or reply to this thread.

A few random observations:

LOTS of dancing. Booty shaking. Seriously - the BOOTY! No lie! It was Wed, can't remember which tune. I thought "Oh my God, she's shaking her ass!" She was running her hand up & down her legs & hips too - during HSML, maybe?

I met Brett Tuggle! A bunch of us saw him at Caesars. He shook our hand, asked our names. He was with a date, so I didn't want to bother him for a pic. Nice guy. Also met Scott Plunkett - also very nice. Saw Chris Nicks, Cory Buckingham, the bass player & one of the percussionists (sorry, can't recall their names) at various times at Caesars. Don't like to bother people when they're gambing, though.

There is a woman that hangs with a guy who seemed to be hanging really close to the band. We have named her mini-Stevie. You do a triple-take when you see her. She really does look just like Stevie, but shorter (if that's possible, lol.) Dressed the same, same hair. Weird.

People seem to think that Stevie called Jana "whatshername" on Wed. She didn't. She was referring to Lori. She intro'd Lori, said "welcome back, baby!" Then she said "and, standing next to......what was your name again? Hahaha, standing next to Lori is our little ball of love, Jana Anderson." Listen to the boot, I'm 100% sure she was joking with Lori about being away so long. Jana didn't look all that sure, though. Poor thing.

I'm sure I'll think of more later. Here are the pics. I will post a few of the pics themselves, but mostly links to avoid taking up too much space.

Thanks so much for your brilliant and heartfealt review, reading it was like if I was there, it sounded like such an intense experience, and the description of 'BATB, was absolutely beautiful, I'm so looking forward to listen to this concert.

Besides, the chocolate fountain is really great. Is it possible to taste or you just have to look and behave? :D

Have a great time, KIM!

That's it for pics, hope you guys like them. I didn't get any from B&tB becasue I was busy getting it on video from the front row! Where is everyone? Are all the webmasters in Vegas? I'm willing to share. Anyone know of any free video hosting sites that are good?

Working on getting the vid up for you guys. Will let you know.

Hi Paula :wavey: Your stuff is awesome. I've been recovering from taking the red eye last night, which was delayed one hour until midnight ("She gets on a midnight plane!") I am on dial-up so I haven't been able to even see everything you've posted yet! It was fabulous meeting you and Theresa and everyone else for that matter. I also had one of the best times of my life and would do it again in a heartbeat. I'll get my pics developed tomorrow and post my review and pics then. I got them Wed nite while standing on a chair under Lori. I hope they come out!

And BTW, I AM the dork because when Stevie came over to my end to shake hands I didn't think she was going to shake our hands and I was taking her picture! Sorry for the flash in your face, Stevie. :o Then she shook the person's hand next to me so I sort of grazed her arm lightly with my hand. Oops. I was so lucky because I got down for the encore even though the guards were not going to let me. I pouted and they let me! That never works :-) But my seat was 5th row, it's just they made me the cut off row and the rows ahead got down. When I got down there, there was a chair right there! So I stood on it. I was up there from Edge through INTK and halfway through BATB. There was a very short girl there who could see nothing so I offered the chair to her, she was so happy! Then when I got down I could still see because there were short people in front of me! I really really felt blessed, what an amazing performance. The only detraction being the jackasses yelling MARRY ME STEVIE over and over and over again. It seemed so disrespectful, because it was! Ah well. More later...

And she rubbed her hips and thighs on both Sorcerer and HSML on WED night only. She was soooo friggin sensual that show..I mean adorable but sexy.

Thanks Kelly. I THINK the Sulamith photo was the very start of Rhiannon before those damned unicorns showed up. I may be wrong, though.

I forgot to mention that Wed was the only night for sexy moves. I guess my post implied it was both nights. Aren't you going tonight, or are you home?

I think I may have been the oldest and the only Canadian there (if that matters?). Let me say, it is soooooo refreshing to see so many young ones love the Mac! and talk Stevie 24/7 and still feel normal! You guy's are so funny!! Stevie was so beautiful and her voice was spot on! Beauty and the Beast brought the house down! I met so many cool people. Vegas is beautiful, and I am just greatful to be able to meet so many nice people, and see Stevie once more in concert! Suze, you are one smart sexy bitch. :D

Yes, the candelabra on the blue velvet over the grand piano was gorgeous. I did not get it on vid, though I was afraid to take the camera off Stevie, lol. I did catch the girls for a moment, though.

I'm sending the vid to Chris as we speak, hopefully you guys will be able to see it in a little while, or by tomorrow at the latest. I can't speak for him, I'm not sure when he'll be able to post it for us. Thanks for doing this, Chris! :wavey:

I am wide awake, still on Vegas time, drinking a beer (yup, from the bottle) & typing away. I just listened to a RAL boot & I must say, B&tB last night was much more emotional, IMO. A few other random thoughts:

Lori sang on IAF, Edge & B&tb. Was she also on HSML & INTK? I thought on Tues she sang on IAF, left for FFG & HSML, came back for Edge. But did she then leave for INTK then return for B&tB? Doesn't make sense. Can't remember.

Also - I hope the foolish girl that kept screaming "LORI!" right at her feet the whole time she was on stage Tues wasn't one of you guys. How incredibly rude. It was apparent she wanted Lori to sign a Tshirt, but sheebus. They were in the middle of a show!

Oh, and Kelly - I believe the Sulamith photo was during the piano intro to Rhiannon; then the statues & unicorns showed up for the rock portion.

Dude, my days and nights are all mixed up  I had one hell of a time waking up for work this morning. Water? Coming in the AIRPLANE window? I would have died. Holy crap!

I thought we had it bad: first, they were going to move us cuz the flight to KC that was supposed to leave from our gate at 4:20 was delayed d/t weather. THEN they said they moved us because there was a "swarm of bees outside the gate." WTF? Bees? I thought they were kidding (it was Southwest, they like to be silly!)

Until we were rolling down the runway through a gross enormous buzzing swarm of BEES! So the guy next to Theresa jokes "Hope they don't get in the air intake." I just look at him. He swears he's kidding. I am not amused.

Anyhoo, we got in about 30 minutes late, then had to wait another 20 for my trunk (as Theresa calls it, lol.) Got home about 1:30am.

Another random thought:

The shows have run around 85 minutes, and there is that 90 minute casino show limit. I do think it's entirely possible they had rehearsed a few more tunes (namely TTM & ROF) but couldn't squeeze them in. The show was not rushed, BUT there was not tons of extra empty time either. Even the Rhiannon & B&tB piano & Edge guitar intros were just long enough for her to change clothes.

Also - that percussion team (can't remember their names, too lazy to look at the other thread right now) was awesome. Totally in sync. I think is was during the Stand Back intro that it was really noticeable & impressive.

Yowza! Water in the window, ick. We were told last night that our flight would be delayed due to a problem with the engine that needed to be fixed. Fortunately is was fixed correctly and quickly.

On Wed nite there was a guy next to me with a photo of Stevie that he wanted signed and kept bugging Lori about it too. There were so many rude fans that nite! And who was that chick using a flash during BATB? Oh yeah, that girl was me. :o  I stopped after a minute, I swear!

I thought we had it bad: first, they were going to move us cuz the flight to KC that was supposed to leave from our gate at 4:20 was delayed d/t weather.

On the KC news tonight, they said a plane departing KC and going to DC had to make an emergency landing due to the weather. Pilot lost control for a while and they landed on a veeeerrry small landing strip. They interviewed some of the people on the plane, this one guy said the lady behind him was literally telling her kids goodbye.

Anywho, I was wondering and hoping none of you were on that flight. I think it was Midwest.

At first I thought it might be condenstation but then the pressure in my ears started to get more intense and I remembered that the window was doubled so that all the moisture would lay either on the outside window or in between the two panes of glass. Nope. The **** was dripping in the plane. I nearly had a heart attack. The woman next to me saw my face turn pale and we both agreed that shutting the blinds would be the best thing (not that the pos plastic over the window would have stopped anything from happening). Mind you, I NEVER take the window seat and it just so happened, this time I did (PS - I hate to fly with a passion and I flew home on my own).

When I flew to see Merf in NC back in March, the bitches sitting in the aisle across from me (we were sitting right behind the wing) kept commenting about the wing falling off of the plane. People...don't say **** like that because I will SO not be amused. Glad you and Theresa and Susan made it home safely <3

Good lord that's scary. My flight home was good until the window incident and pressure on my ears. The way there is another story. Lots of wind...lots of snow over the Rockies...we had a lot of turbulance. To my knowledge, everyone that was due home is safe thankfully.

Sparky here.

I have seen the Friday night show. Today I shopped with my cool as hell pal from Tucson - bought a pair of kick ass suede jeans, and a bunch of other stuff.

Not home yet. Seeing the show tonight too. I managed to not read a word about the set list, or any of the reviews. So, at least I had a tiny element of surprise waiting for me last night. Not much of a surprise at all, as many other people have already reported.

Looked for people in the Seahorse Lounge last night, but damned if I saw anyone I recognized. Other than some of Stevie's entourage, which I will save for another post. Also, we went to Whitetrashaville, I mean, Maragaritaville, at about 12:30. On the third floor, they were playing some horrifying rap music, and we had to flee before I grabbed an instrument of torture and went for the DJ or turned the weapon on myself.

I am not going to go into any detail till I get home, but as usual, I will have PLENTY to say about this show.

I am SO not a tease. I always put out.

However, here I lay in bed at a hotel. I am not nearly lucid enough to post the kind of complete messsage that I must create. What I will say is that having 3 drinks before the show improved my reaction DRAMATICALLY.

Did anything different or special happen for tonight?

Paula you rock. Awesome photos. I took all the screen shots too. What song did the Sulamith Wulfing photo show up?
And she rubbed her hips and thighs on both Sorcerer and HSML on WED night only. She was soooo friggin sensual that show..I mean adorable but sexy.

Now I know why my hubby was standing and smiling alot during this concert when he usually just sits there like a log during concerts? :D Stevie can cast her spells over my hubby anytime. I love the benefits :xoxo:

 Yeah, I can just imagine what was said.

"Thank Christ that Debbie Downer isn't here or else I'd have to cut his tongue out while he sleeps."

Actually, I referred to you as Dissy Downer, but whatev....

*INTK: Good, lively, nice vocal. For the record, she DOES still say "take your violet and blue mornings with you" but she starts it away from the mike so all you hear is "mornings with you!" I saw her sing it. From the bottom of the steps at the Colisseum. ;)

To be con't

Well, she's always sung the line. The mystery is WHY she no longer chooses to make that first part of the line audible. I always thought it was because she doesn't want to come across as sounding like a scorned woman, and may be why she'll never performs songs like Nothing Ever Changes, Long Way to Go or Smile at You in concert.

Eh, age is a state of mind. I wonder how Stevie liked the flowers, I should have asked Lori when she was stalking us on Thurs. We were eating lunch (Tiff, Anita, and I) and when we got up to leave I saw Lori sitting at the table right next to us! Then we went into a store, and she came in soon after! Totally stalking us! We never did approach her though.

I haven't heard anything back about the flowers ... I know she got them, but after that, don't know. I wish you would have asked Lori about them, I am curious if Stevie liked the arrangement, and if she even read our card. (even a form letter atleast acknowledging them would be nice, but I am not counting on anything...*sniff*....) Oh well, it was the thought that counted, and I appreciated everyone's support.

I just got so star struck I didn't even think of it! I am sure Stevie loved them and read the card too. I'll bet she was really happy for the support since she was doing a "new" thing and that seems to make her very nervous! Give yourself a pat on the back and if you do ever meet Stevie tell her you're the guy who arranged the flower delivery in Vegas. :D

I cannot imagine that if she actually got them, that she did not read the card and was not appreciative. I think she seems like she would be knocked out that people travelled so far to see her, etc. I spoke to a few members of the band and they were like you came from Atlanta to see two shows? So, I thnk she must have known that people made sacrifices to go and the flowers confirmed that. Also, you all are GREAT for doing that

I think that, in general, she was thrilled that so many die-hards were there. She literally got a bit choked up on Tues night, thanking everyone for coming. You KNOW she had to realize that the general public, comped gamblers, etc. were NOT the ones dressed like her, or dancing around to IAF & Fall From Grace, or screaming her name.

I also noticed that the band intros for Lori, Carlos & Waddy were extra special.

Lori, for obvious reasons.

Carlos, referring to him as her 4th bird of Rhiannon (and was it Sparky or gldtwmn who posted that she said on Sat. that he was with her when she couldn't even stand?)

Waddy - I really think he gets her confidence up, esp. regarding changing setlists, musical differences, etc. There was A LOT of pats on the back, smiles & thumbs ups between them. She seems so grateful to him.

and Sideshow Bob (forget his real name  ) They were really great!

She said something to the effect of "He stood by me when I couldn't even stand..."

Paula, thanks so much for the beautiful photos. Kinda makes me feel like I was there...which dulls the pain of not being there a little.

Glad you and all the other fortunate Ledgies had such a kick ass time!!

It really was one of the best vacations I've ever had. I can't stop talking about it! I came back to work today & instead of the usual "it was good, thanks" reply I usually give to the "how was your vacation" question, I've been yelling "Oh my God, it was SO great! Best! Time! Evah!"

...time of your life....

:D

Glad you guys are enjoying the pics. All I could think was "I'd better get pics of the whole stage too so everyone can see what the hell I'm talking about."
