I just read on another board which shall remain nameless, that Lindsey was in the second mezzanine last night.

Uh... anyone??

LOL - well if your gonna be that, that is one hell of a venue to do it considering two of the world's largest stars ever perform there on a regular basis  I mean she is hardly performing in a lounge by the slots ot the buffet line filled with old women in lame and hairy chested men laden with fake gold chains screaming - I have a coooooouuupoaaannnnn  Interestingly, she is doing many of the same songs LB's plays with her on on the road - hmmmmmmmmm - FM a vegas lounge act on the road - in fact i think they played Vegas twice - nice

You know I love that comment.

Jason, you are referring to Celine Dion, aren't you, atleast in part? Um.....yeah, real high bar she's set there.

Well, she is one of the largest stars in the world. I made no comment on her talent, though you seem to want to say I did

Again, I think LB was referring to the band next to the Vegas buffet line and not to a rock and roll star performing in a Vegas theatre, which is what La Nicks is doing here. I mean if the latter is the test, well then he has played Vegas as a lounge act as well

But, what do I know

I saw him sitting by himself at the top of the theater with my own two eyes (and yes, they work just fine, thanks). Why did I see him? Because I was looking for him. His sister-in-law was also there to see Stevie (Daryl Buckingham) and was sitting in front of a friend of mine. I'm highly doubting Daryl was there to support Cory who was bringing Stevie drinks onto the stage before the show (btw, Karen Johnston? nowhere in sight).

Hey that's interesting..maybe Cory has replaced Karen...although I doubt it...Karen probably was giving drinks to Stevie backstage...lol

Might be weird but I've never seen the interview in the 80s with Lindsey when he made those comments about Stevie becoming a Vegas lounge act

Did he say she'd become a Vegas lounge act or that her solo concerts were like lounge acts....which he also said that about Miss Christine too, right?

Johnny Stew
05-12-2005, 11:33 PM
Yes, he said he had seen Stevie's and Christine's live shows, and the setlists included so many Fleetwood Mac songs, that they felt like "lounge acts" to him.

Perhaps he doesn't feel that way any longer though, as his own 'Out Of The Cradle' tour certainly included not just a couple Mac songs.
But that happens... we often feel one way about something, and change our view as the years go by.

Thats true..I'm sure he doesnt feel that way anymore...he and Stevie seem to have more of a loving friendship now than in the past...

Plus the places he played on the OOTC tour were pretty damn close to be a LOUNGE! lol

Was he just sat amongst regular people? Imagine being seated next to LB! I would be most distracted! LOL! I remember when I was at the theatre last year and seated near to Keving Spacey. Quite a buzz for me! LOL!

I'm surprised if he was there and so far away...maybe Stevie didn't know he was there...or she did know, and he wanted to remain inconspicuous so rumours didn't start...because if he was close Stevie would have been mighty distracted. :o

He was not sitting with the audience. He as on the top..above the second mezzanine and when the lights were on you could see him, along with many other people such as Jessica Nicks. I think she knew people were up there, she looked up there the entire show on Tuesday. On Wed he was not up there and neither was Jessica and Stevie focused on the audience. I think perhaps she was nervous and wanted her friends input on the screen shots etc. End of story. My vision is just fine too. :]

So anyone who thinks they sat with regular folk is mistaken.

Lindsey wasn't there tonight (Friday), but her mother was there. She was sitting in the sound booth on the floor. Cute lady. :xoxo:

Unicorns indeed! And running away from the camera. Visions of horses behinds running in slow motion... Lovely... And the seizure-inducing, out of rhythm strobe effect during Stand Back...

I was all psyched to hear Still of the Night, but it just flopped. :distress: The highlight was at the end of the show -- Beauty and the Beast! Wow, did she nail it or what?!?!? But then again, the movie was way too distracting. I would've rather had close ups of her singing up there to see the motion (and work!) she was pouring into the song. Not to mention the "We love you Stevie!" yelling idiots with the responding, "Shut up!" and "We love you too!" idiots as the song was beginning. Just what every concert should have, screaming idiots answering screaming idiots.

I don't think rock and roll translates well to Vegas casino arenas. This is great now and then, but if she had a running gig, I don't think it would last. Most people in my area were ready to go after EO17. Several asked, "Is it over?" And applause was not thunderous or lasting. :(

Good show, but typical fare... :sorry:

Kelly

There would be no way to know who was there on Friday night...how does anyone know who was backstage, sidestage or in boxes at the back of the venue? Maybe someone didn't SEE Mick, or Jess or Lindsey but who knows if they were there.
I enjoyed HSML and thought she nailed it on Wednesday night...Tuesday she was a bit nervous. When she walked out in time to that movie on BaTB..it was perfect and in no way detracted from the song...it ADDED to the overall effect..imo. Girl tries new things and her fans say they flop...girl does same ole things and her fans bitch and moan. I know this is a place where everyone can express their opinions, fine, no need to remind me of that but there is such a pattern of this with her "fans".

I do agree...Stevie is more of a rock and roller than a Vegas residency gig. The high rollers do not "get her" and her big time fans won't be bullied by the high rollers. Caesars is only interested in pleasing the high rollers anyway so I doubt she will be back.

I don't think it really flopped on Fri. But it was the super greatest on wednesday night. I can't stop thinking about it, she was so sassy, shaking her little hips, wagging her finger. It was definitely a highlight for me. And I mean, VERY Sassy on Wed!
Yeah, she dedicated Landslide to her mom on Fri. I saw her mom and Chris while I was walking out on Fri and spoke to her briefly. :) It was funny, when Stevie was dedicating it too her, she said her mom had already won fifty dollars on slots that night. Very cute.

I didn't think the movie was too distracting at all.. in the very beginning of Beauty And The Beast, when the woman from the film is running in slow motion while at the same time Stevie slowly walks to the front of the stage, gave me goosebumps.. i would change absolutely NOTHING about that performance, as it was in my opinion, the best performance of the show..

Stevie's mother was there on Friday. Jessica was not there until Saturday. As for LB...I heard a lot of people mention seeing him Tuesday including two men who didn't look like the average Stevie fans. I know for a fact Mick was there last night because he sat right across the aisle from me. I was on the aisle seat and his wife was across the aisle from me on the end with one babe on her lap. Mick was next to her with the other little girl on his lap. Stevie said Mick's name at the beginning of BATB and also said that was for Ruby and Tessa at the end of the song.

I don't know how it would be possible to see Lindsey Buckingham from the floor on the second mezzanine. I looked up at the second mezzanine on both nights I was there and the people were like ants up there. I don't know if I buy that people actually saw him. Especially since he was at the VERY BACK of the second mezzanine. Not to call those who think they saw him liars. I think it was just seeing what they wanted to see. Like a mirage!

Like I said, he was above the 2nd mezzanine and had I not been looking for him, I wouldn't have seen him. He was sitting up at the very top next to the lighting booth (in one of the enclosed booths at the top). It wasn't until the very end of the show (right before Edge) that I saw him sitting up there and then it made sense to me because she had been looking up there for much of the night (I think because she was so nervous). The only reason I saw him was because of the way the lighting was appearing at the top of the Colesseum at that particular point in the show. I only saw him Tuesday. Of course, that does not mean he wasn't there for the rest of the shows.

I don't think she lies because she wants to...she's employed by Stevie now and her entourage seems to be very faithful to her. If she doesn't want something known, they're going to keep the jig going because she's asked them too, IMO. So if Stevie didn't want something to get out, her people are going to protect her and make sure it doesn't get out for whatever reason. Welcome to the world of showbiz and PR, kids.

If she doesn't want something known, they're going to keep the jig going because she's asked them too, IMO. So if Stevie didn't want something to get out, her people are going to protect her and make sure it doesn't get out for whatever reason. Welcome to the world of showbiz and PR, kids.
Yeah, I know. Der?

I don't know who the other person is who asked Cory if Lindsey was there, but I asked too. I actually asked about all of them, John, Mick and even Christine! Wishful thinking that Chris would show up! She said Lindsey wasn't there. I looked around for signs of any celebrity I could spot and didn't have a lot of luck. I know what you mean about the 2nd Mezzanine making the people look like ants. I think it would be easy to see someone who resembled him with curly hair from that distance and assume it was Lindsey. I wish it would have been him, but Cory said no. I'm wondering why she would lie about him being at one of Stevie's shows? Also, someone said that she lies a lot? Cory seems so cool to be a liar and FM doesn't seem sordid enough to need to cover anything up! I think it would be good publicity and good for their image if Lindsey did show up. Mick goes everywhere with her!

You know what is funny? I saw a guy who from the back looked like Lindsey walking through Ceasar's and I think it was Wednesday night or Thursday. He had on what looked like a suit with a bow tie. I doubt that it was Lindsey. He walked really fast and was kind of far away but I saw his face for a second and he did not look like Lindsey but the hair from the back did.

I totally agree, there's nothing unusual in that. Besides I'm glad he was there for her first concert (and possibly others), given her stage fright it was a very nice thing to do. :)

I don't know how you guys can be 100% certain that it was Lindsey. He would have been like G.I. Joe size and in a dark theatre! I know Mick was there because he was sitting a few feet beside me and responded to me when I say hello to him. How can you be certain? I don't mean to sound like a dink. It just sounds like about a 10% certainty that it was Lindsey to me.

I wasn't there, but so many different fans told he was there and I have no reason not to believe them. :)

Damn Vegas impersonators! Who knows what ANYONE saw there. Hey, it's a Stevie show. All the same, all the same, baby, all the same. If you believe you saw him, you saw him. If you believe there was a conspiracy, you'll find it. But I believe you folks that saw Mick, his family and Jessica. No one has yet mentioned approaching Lindsey, speaking to Lindsey, etc. It doesn't mean he wasn't there, but- hey, whatever. I saw Elvis! That's my story, and I'm sticking to it!

Oopppsss quoted Amber instead of the grocery store sighting. SORRY.

And no one told you he was a mirage! Anyway..what is so complicated? People on the second mezzanine can see the show..how it is possible that people on the stage level can't see up there? I wasn't looking for him but frankly it was annoying the crap out of me that Stevie kept looking up the entire show on Tuesday...I mean UP! So I turned around and there were several people up there and when the lights were on, uh you could see them. Besides...people on other boards saw him too..what is the problem? Why is it ok for Mick to be there but so shocking that Lindsey would be? I am not understanding what is the big deal. They are in the same band for God's sake.

Gimme a break! It's not shocking to me in the slightest bit that he might be there, I just don't see how it would possible to see someone in a dark theatre from the floor to the second balcony. Obviously people on the second balcony can see the performer on the stage. The stage is showered with light. I'm not trying to start some sort of Lindsey Buckingham battle. It just seems to me you'd have to have super powers to see someone from that kinda distance. Seriously! No.... SERIOUSLY!!!

I don't think it would be shocking if Lindsey were there. I think it would have been cool. The reason I believe he wasn't there is because Cory told me he wasn't. She said Chris wasn't either. I don't think she's lying. I don't think whoever saw him is lying either. I think it was a case of mistaken identity.

Like I said, Cory is out to protect the best interests of the people she's employed by. Currently, she's employed by Stevie. You don't find it odd she came to talk to someone and wanted to clear up the rumors Lindsey was there? Do you also not find it odd that out of all of the submissions The Nicksfix receives in terms of reviews, one "debunking" that Lindsey was there was posted? C'mon. Cory is an avid surfer of the internet. We know this because she provided the online tour journals (in which she also enjoyed debunking rumors which I won't bother to list). She knew that in saying something it would get back onto the boards and then people would be skeptical of those that did, in fact, see him. Again people...PR. This isn't a terrifically difficult concept.

Ok, now I'm officially confused. Why would it be good PR to lie and say Lindsey wasn't there? She didn't come up to me. She was working and I know I was bothering her but I just asked if anyone else from the band was there or would be there to see some of the shows. She said Mick would be around. When I asked about Lindsey or John or Chris, she said no. I'm kind of new but would it have been weird for Lindsey to be there?

Yawn..ok...everyone is lying. It is a big conspiracy. I have super powers to see someone when the lights are on? WTH? You win..the dozen or so people who saw him ALL made it up. ;)

BTW..I certainly hope no one sitting in the second mezzanine even claims to have seen Mick. That would be flat out impossible cause the theatre is dark during "parts" of the show. You would need super powers! :D
