Bootylicious... Much like how the TISL tour started out.

Dreams (dance remix)... My first thought was, is this The Corrs?? But no! It's a brand new vocal from Stevie set again dance beats. It was quite hip. Visuals of the I Can't Wait (of Stevie walking in slow motion against the white background) are shown throughout this segment. Lots of cheers from the crowd.

Enchanted... Much like previous performances, though Stevie actually sang the whole song, including the "wo wo wo...I hope you make it/ay ay ay I hope you make it," instead of walking to the side of the stage to play her tambie.

Stop Draggin' My Heart Around... Much like previous performances, Waddy doing Tom's part. Backdrop: "metal vines" and some rare mug shots maybe done by Herbie?

Outside the Rain... The first "surprise" of the night. It was nice to hear again, but it was a little lackluster. She didn't really belt out the end, and sang it in a much lower voice. Backdrop: "furious raindrops"

Dreams... Always a crowd pleaser. No surprises. Backdrop: "wavy lines in shades of red, orange and green.

Rhiannon... Scott Plunkett serves up another dark piano intro, leading into a standard rendition. Backdrop: "drawings of a porcelin-like boy, statues, and two white unicorns playing and running in the water" (very odd).

Sorcerer... Much "punchier" than the TISL live version. She sounded much more comfortable this time around. Backdrop: "kaleidescope"

Stand Back... Stevie came out wearing a different "Stand Back" cape, at least one she doesn't usually wear. It was black, had tiny glittery circles and what looked like fringe on the ends. Her hair was in a bun, similar to how she looked during "Sara" for SYW, with a small black bow/scrunchy. At the end of the song, she said to the crowd "time of your life." Background: "frantic black and white matrix/grid ending with (unnecessary) laser light show"

Landslide... "You may know this song... It would love it if you would sing along. It would take a little pressure off of me." A new arrangement, with Waddy and Brett Tuggle playing guitar, that was TOTALLY influenced by the Dixie Chicks' cover. Sharon and Jana sang harmony vocals in the chorus, similar to how the Chicks did it. Backdrop: "chandeliers that looked like jellyfish."

Gold Dust Woman... Stevie came out draped with a white/pink shawl. This rendition was a little reserved. She replaced the climactic "go hoooooooome" with a growling "ay ay ay ay." Backdrop: "A dizzying blue spiral" in the beginning and ending with "yellow 'fireflies'"

If Anyone Falls... Next surprise. Lori discreetly joins the other singers to sing on this song. The image from the video of Stevie and dancer Brad Jeffries is looped over and over again. Backup singers introduce some weird, new choreography involving their hands (I'll bet it was Sharon's idea).

Band intro... Big "welcome back" for Lori and continues to intro the rest of "The Three Birds of Rhiannon." Jana Anderson: "the little ball of love" Sharon Celani: "the dark woman" Waddy: "he's my angel"

Fall From Grace... Like on Sorcerer, Stevie is much more comfortable with the TISL material. The "make sure you surviiiiiive" part was a little weak, though. Backdrop: "white clouds moving very fast in the blue sky"

How Still My Love... Another surprise. I thought this was a great rendition. I would have preferred that she have dropped some of the rock numbers in favor of the slower numbers which seemed to fit the Vegas 'Dreams' motif better.

Drum Solo... Ho hum. Though I thought the new drummer (Jimmy Paxon) was pretty good.

Edge of Seventeen... Lights circle the stage slowly at first, then become more urgent when Waddy's riff kicks in. Backdrop: "visuals of Waddy from the Sorcerer video" and "one huge black and white white-winged dove." During the "Edge walk," Stevie made her way into the crowd as usual, but she let fans KISS her on the cheek!! There were at least three fans who got up close enough to plant sweet lil pecks. Some hugs too. When they asked if they could kiss her, Stevie replied "of course." Wow!

I Need to Know... Kind of looked like she was wearing the Gypsy outfit from the '82 In Concert vid. Moon necklace was very noticable here when closeups were shown on the big screen. As usual, no "take your violet and blue mornings" just the "....with you!" at the end of the song.

Beauty and the Beast... HIGHLIGHT OF THE EVENING. Definitely the emotional highpoint of the show. I haven't seen Stevie pour this much emotion into a song in years. She was literally shaking and getting VERY emotional. She was wearing a full black cloak which was fuzzy on top (it looked very similar to the burgandy one from the TISL press shots...the "alien/Star Trek outfit." Some lyric variation: "timeless is the teacher who is wise."

Overall, good show. The generic visuals, probably lifted from Celine's show, were totally unnecessary and often distracting. It was much more interesting when they had closeups of everyone displayed, which they only did occasionally.

Sharon was hanging out after the show in front of the Colosseum. Sweet sweet sweet sweet lady. Everyone was just so excited to see her that I'm afraid we probably overwhelmed her a bit. But she was very gracious and even agreed to take pictures with us. When fans talked about their stories, she listened closely and replied like she was actually interested. What a class act. She was there with us for a good 10 minutes. I told her that we appreciated her long replies in the Q&A. She said that it took her forever to answer them because she isn't a very good typist. Jana Anderson on the other hand types really fast apparently.

Thanks for the review/description, Daniel... I really would have loved to have seen this performance. "Beauty And The Beast," especially, sounds like it was outstanding.

I'm still holding out hope that they film one or two of the shows for an official DVD release.

Keyboards: Scott Plunkett
Keyboards/guitars: Brett Tuggle
Drummer: Jimmy Paxon
Percussionist: Machito (why do these guys only have one name??)
Singers: Sharon, Jana, Lori

There were two t-shirts on sale for $30. Two colors: black and brown. Front says "Dreams" in Stevie's handwriting with drawing of a heart with hair coming out of both sides (like heart pigtails) underneath it. Back had the tour dates written in a colosseum with an oval image of Stevie from the the back of the TISL CD (Sharon and Lori cropped out) on the right side. It was an unattractive t-shirt, the back in particular. Ugly fonts, ugly design. Probably the work of Chris Nicks.

So the 'never before seen' and highly vaunted "Dreams" show consisted of a few different shawl changes,a couple extra spins and a cheesy video show borrowed from Celine interspersed with a few clips from Stevie's old videos and not a single song that had not already been performed on past tours. I think I'll treasure my memories of old Stevie and Mac shows past before I plunk down any more cash on any of these foul rip off schemes.

Thanks Daniel for the very detailed review- Honestly, from what I read, it was more or less what I expected it would be. I'm glad to hear she seemed happy and in her glory (as she usually is ,when preforming "live") I don't think the girl can go more than 6 months without being on stage...In my heart I think her addictions are still alive and well they are just more public- It's not cocaine anymore...it's live performances
The setlist was comprised of tunes that she could/should have played from the sound of it, and her vocal range was where everyone expected it to be.
There is a part of me that wishes I could have seen the show but again, sometimes the illusion and the dream is better, and more imaginative.
So I sit at home and read what is happening and enjoy others' opinions.
(I still would have loved to hear -I need to know-, I still BELIEVE she wrote that song, not Tom
Anyway, thanks for sharing....
warmest wishes

Although I considered flying to Vegas from Europe, I decided not to, because the plane ticket would have been ridiculously expensive. And now I have read the reviews I'm still sad I can't be there, but not heartbroken. I am REALLY glad I got to see Stevie on the "Enchanted" tour where she really made an effort to do something different. I guess we'll have to live with Stevie performing from the same pool of songs until she retires...

Fortunately, I do get to see Stevie with Don next month, so hopefully "Highwayman" WILL make it into the set-list then!

Firstly, LOTS OF LYRIC CHANGES!!! Absolutely amazing and beautiful show. Beauty and the Beast made me weep like a baby. Kelly and I agree that this song is worth the price of admisssion...completely and totally out of this world. She came out in time to the film wearing a black dress and a fabulous cloke-esque jacket with her hair pulled up. The reblachs are out in full force with leg warmers over them but she's wearing new black dress with some great beading on the bodice (she also wears a bit of pink as well as a white skirt overtop the dress) for the show. A friend of mine and I had upgraded to front row and were able to stand for the entire show (and did). Edge of Seventeen walk was great. Stevie was taken down across the stairs and shook hands, giving hugs and kisses to fans. Yes, I was able to shake her hand. Amazing time--looking forward to tonight for sure. After the show, we went over to Margaritaville to meet everyone (it was great meeting you all!!) and then back over to Caesar's to drink some more. Met Lori and another member of the backing band. Both were incredibly sweet and gracious--we had our picture taken with Lori (she looks amazing and sounds SO UN****ING BELIEVABLE). We also saw Cory Buckingham and Sheryl Louis gambling but we didn't want to bother them. Off to Paris for breakfast with the crew--will post more later!!

I have lots of footage and pictures and my friend recorded the entire show (audio) so as soon as we are able to put it up, we will :wavey:

I just read over on BN that a lot of the stage was blocked off and she didn't move from her mic stand.

I'm glad that some new things got thrown in there, but I really thought that these shows would be a lot more fabulous than they sound so far.

I don't know...the view from the front row was rather stellar  Stevie may not have moved away from the mic stand a lot but she totally rocked and put a lot of effort into this show

Seems like Stevie's imagination has gone the way of her dancing - into the ethers of youth past! I'm going to the show on Saturday night (last night's are usually the best), and am looking forward to my second Stevie-solo concert. But I still wish she would get a little energy and creative imagination in her shows! Why not use the technology available and do something special this time around, especially considering it's not a tour?

Hope u dont mind if I ask a few details questions..

Ok so did she do the Stand Back kick? Any good twirls? Did she do the Edge of 17 scream?

Not many twirls, no SB kick, the usual growl on EOS. She did a cute little dance with her skirt during Edge, where she grabs both sides and shakes it side to side. Loved that! The mic did not come off the stand, as she had theatened :D Someone in another post said that the stage was blocked off, which wasn't entirely accurate. The stage was just very large, so everything was spread out. There were also 4-5 steps between the stage and the first row.

How were her notes in IF ANYONE FALLS?

IAF was great. I'd imagine most fans were thrilled to hear it at all. With that said, she did play it conversatively on some of the notes. When she came back to the first version after the bridge, it sounded much like the first time she sang it, rather than how it is sung on the album with all the variation and inflection. There were no ad lips at the end, but the song ended acapella, which was great.

Still of the Night was also great, though it was kind of "pitchy" as they say on American Idol. But I'm glad she included it in the set. The slower numbers were better suited for this smaller venue. The rockers (Sorcerer, FFG) seems out of place and just noisy.

bangs, or no bangs?

She looked pretty much like she did on the SYW tour.

gloves, or no gloves?

No gloves

Any dedication for Landslide?

No dedication. Just a request to sing along with her, which everyone did. An official sing-along! ;)

Did anyone bring gifts for Edge of 17?

Mostly flowers, as far as I could see. She just kind of grabbed them and threw them behind her. It looked kind of like, "oh thanks, next."

Did she smile a lot?

Lots! She was very appreciate of her audience, as usual. She didn't really say much in between songs. It was kind of the Mirror tour in that respect, where she almost said nothing, except for the usual thank yous.

It will be circulating soon!

For anyone wanting to smuggle something in, just hide the camera/recorder/whatever deep in your bag because the bags don't go thru the metal detectors. They hand check the bags.

Or...

You can just try to walk thru the detectors with the camera/recorder stuffed in your bra/underwear because it was not going off for smaller devices with metal in them, like cell phones (which trigger at airports). So you could try to stick a camera in your bra/underwear and see what happens. Worse case scenario is that they'll tell you to bring it back to your hotel room/car (staff was very friendly and accommodating, in general) Then just come back later hiding it in your bag instead.

I should really consolidate my posts, sorry!

Stage positions:

Front center: Stevie (obviously)
Left of front center: Waddy
Far left front: Al Ortiz
Middle left: Scott Plunkett
Back left of center: Jimmy Paxon
Back right of center: Machito
Middle right: Brett Tuggle (moved front right (Carlos' place) during Landslide to play guitar)
Front right: Sharon, Jana, Lori
Right of center: Carlos Rios

There was a long walkway down the center of the stage. When the lights dimmed between songs, you could see Stevie running down the carpet so that she could make her next costume change.

Stage was rectangular, black carpeted with small cameras lined in the back to project the images onto the enormous half-circle screen. They could have been lights too, I'm entirely sure what they were. The stage had a very "backstage/behind-the-scenes" feel, the back part in particular. There were black staircases on both sides of the stage in the back, which Celine probably walks down in her shows. I'm sure Stevie would have none of that at her shows...though it would have been the perfect visual for "she was dark at the top of the stairs." If they painted the staircases white, it might have resembled something out the I Can't Wait vid.

Mulling over all of this, I'm wondering if perhaps the limited four-night run for these shows, caused some of the various things Stevie mentioned wanting to do, or potentially doing, to be cost-prohibitive.

Such as the archival video footage on the screens... which I imagine would need to be transferred to a digital format and (maybe) cleaned-up, etc.

Perhaps if she does do some type of residency there, as she's hinted it, then the show will be something a little more along the lines of what she talked about?

Thanks again Daniel for taking the time to give us all these little details about the show. It sounds fantastic and its so different from anything she's ever done in terms of the grandness of the venue, that I'm sure it added to how special the night was for the fans.

If you have time...

Were there a lot of dead head touristy fans? Did people object to fans standing up during the show?

Mulling over all of this, I'm wondering if perhaps the limited four-night run for these shows, caused some of the various things Stevie mentioned wanting to do, or potentially doing, to be cost-prohibitive.

Such as the archival video footage on the screens... which I imagine would need to be transferred to a digital format and (maybe) cleaned-up, etc.

Perhaps if she does do some type of residency there, as she's hinted it, then the show will be something a little more along the lines of what she talked about?

I have no idea about what it would cost to transfer the old videos but I do know that Elton John hired David LaChapelle to produce and design that fabulous Red Piano set for this venue. His Red Piano show got rave reviews for the design and how it wasn't a typical Elton concert. Elton said it cost him over 1 million dollars to design that set. Of course, Elton has a 50 million dollar contract with Caesars:) Perhaps Stevie will spend more on a more "designed" show as this becomes a more permanent gig for her...or perhaps this is it no matter how long these shows go on.

Christopher Nicks should come up with some more colorful and nicer images or newer ones that is for sure!!!

Or better yet, exclude himself from the process altogether. He isn't a designer in any sense of the word; he's a hack. Everything he touches is so sub par.

I understand the nepotism, but producing crap to shill out to Stevie's fans is an insult. Just take a look at some of the professional, slick and inspired designs/packaging produced for other (sometimes lesser known) bands/artists. It will give you a perspective about how good it can be...and how bad Stevie is represented. (Reference any of her tour programs, and hack job that was the Street Angel cd booklet layout.)

Can you comment a bit more on How Still My Love, and how was the end of Rhiannon, was it at least on par with the SYW tour.

Still of the Night was sung well, though she did have a little trouble with some of the higher notes, which she sang differently, like the "standing in the doorway" part. It was closer to how she sung it in her early demos, kind of understated. But there were some lyric variations in that part, "go on...get out!" And when the music came to a halt briefly for her to sing "it's ME that's talking to you," it was spoken softly rather than belted out. There were some pitch problems towards the end on "in the still of the night...ooh ooh, it's me that's talking to you." But overall, it was a good performance. The quieter songs were a nice opportunity to really hear quality of her voice -- the vibratto, the slight rasp, occasional softness and even her trademark nasal. The rockier songs, like Sorcerer, tended to drown her out.

Rhiannon was on par with how she's basically done it for the last two tours. Again, I was really impressed with the new drummer who wasn't pounding away like a madman, allowing for a clean, nicely defined rhythm. There were some percussive elements at the end that were nice to the ears too. Scott Plunkett's piano intro was new, and a little darker than usual. But it was concise and received a loud ovation. Stevie was wearing the black dress with a chiffon layered wrap with long sleeves.

She looked pretty much like she did on the SYW tour.

No gloves

No dedication. Just a request to sing along with her, which everyone did. An official sing-along! ;)

Mostly flowers, as far as I could see. She just kind of grabbed them and threw them behind her. It looked kind of like, "oh thanks, next."

Lots! She was very appreciate of her audience, as usual. She didn't really say much in between songs. It was kind of the Mirror tour in that respect, where she almost said nothing, except for the usual thank yous.

I agree with everything you posted. I just wanted to add that I think she looked better then she did during the SYW tour. Alot thinner IMO and her hair looked healthier too.

Anyway, I had a great time last night. Like Marissa said, Beauty and the Beast was a total knock out. Definitely worth the price of admission alone. Plus I got to shake Stevie's hand, which I've never gotten to do before. I can't wait for tonight's show.

this has been a day of this with Jamie. This particular post you quoted had to do with her making the following statement, and IMO, being very serious about it. I think you're confusing a LOL with a smiley or something said with a wink.

The only people allowed to get a boot of this show are ones who haven't been Bitching about it! ...God, if I could only enforce that rule...

then there were the other comments about everyone chilling and a suggestion that everyone who complained about the setlist last night were jealous. Going over to Mick's site and saying nasty things about the people on this site. Another post here where she "prayed to God that Stevie didn't know about this site". Its been Jamie day here on the Ledge and its difficult to come into the end of this without reading through the other threads and knowing what's gone on all day.

But then again, most of this started over a thread detailing the setlist one song at a time over a 2 hour period and some fans not being happy with and voicing disappointment with the setlist. After all the hype Stevie gave it about it being like nothing they've ever seen and pulling out all the gems (paraphrasing) and all the died in the wool fans, blah blah blah. You had to be there or read how the thread unfolded and the anticipation involved and the first 10 songs being oldies and revealed one song at a time.

Glad you're having a good time at the shows...not that I ever thought you wouldn't;)

I think IAF was last played on the Timespace tour and that was Lori's last tour as well.
If memory serves, HSML was last played on the Rock A Little Tour and BATB was last played on the Mirror tour.

Actually...

Lori's last tour was OSOTM (Lynne Mabry replaced her for TimeSpace), but you are correct that it was the last tour with IAF.

HSML was last played on the Street Angel Tour and was also played on the OSOTM Tour.

BATB was last played on the TimeSpace Tour.

Here's a picture of the GIGANTIC billboard for Stevie they had at the venue. It was wild 'cause you could see it from both ends of the strip, from the top of the Statosphere, and I could even see it from the plane as it took off!

Did that always say One Nation Under God or did you click at just the right time, because that pic totally rules.

Interesting, thanks!

Here's the other picture I took, right after BATB. You can't see La Nicks too well, but a nice view of the stage.

Oh no, it was a big TV screen that mostly showed commercials for Elton John, Celine, Jerry Seinfeld, etc. There was even a Stevie Nicks commercial that showed clips from the videos for Sorcerer, Stand Back, I Can't Wait, Blue Denim, Talk To Me, and a few others. Pretty neat.
