My hubby surprised me this morning and he is willing to take me to Vegas to see Stevie's concert if we can get decent rates for a hotel room in Vegas :blob2: :xoxo: :xoxo: Anyone have any ideas on rooms for $50-$60 range since we will be driving and will need to spend money along the way for several nights in hotels to and from Las Vegas. We have been checking but we want a nice, safe place to stay that is reasonably priced. Thanks :wavey:

When are you going? I got a rate at Harrah's which is almost across from Ceasar's for $59.00 a night until Friday. Fri and Sat the rates were sky high. I am staying at Casino Royale right next door on Fri and Sat and their rate was $99.00 for Fri and Sat. These are both on the strip and not that far from Ceasar's
I booked these last week so I don't know what the rate is now.

Ok I just checked Harrah's Hot Deals and it looks like they have gone up anywhere from $89.00 to $129.00 a night.
Casino Royale was available from May 9th-13 for $69.00 a night. The weekend looks like it has sold out.
You might want to check out www.Vegasfreedom.com the website lets you pick out what location in Vegas (strip, downtown) you want to look for a hotel or event and it brings up the matches. They have a direct link to many of the hotels and sometimes the casinos themselves will have a link for hot deals.
Good luck!

Thanks, Pattie. We are trying to make it for Wednesday's show since we would have to leave Monday after work.

Thanks, Pattie. We are trying to make it for Wednesday's show since we would have to leave Monday after work.
I checked on the strip area not too far from Ceasar's for Tuesday May 10 and Wednesday May 11 and I came up with these:
Harrah's: Tuesday $129.00 Wednesday $89.00
Flamingo $100.00 both nights
Casino Royale $69.00 both nights.
I have never been to any of them. I did hear that The Flamingo was pretty nice. I don't think that Harrah's is too bad either. Casino Royale I have no idea but I will find out next weekend.

Looks like there's some helpful people on this board. I like that! :D
Speaking of hotels, Caesar's has NO availability for saturday night, and friday night's rate, for a standard room, is now going for $600.00!! Makes the ticketmaster prize we won of one night's stay for friday night even MORE meaningful! I can't believe hotels can get away with that. It's insane. I live in San Diego, and when the Superbowl was here 2 years ago, places like Motel 6 and Comfort Inn were charging an upwards of $600 each night that whole week!

Now I need some help! I am going to need to go to a Walmart or a Target or something when I get to Vegas. I don't have my car right now in RI so I can not get out to get a few things. I don't plan on renting a car in Vegas because I can't find my way out of a paper bag.
I see that there is a WalMart about 2.32 miles from my hotel. I am wondering how much a cab would cost me. Are there any buses that go near that area? I know that I can't walk up to the Walmart but then maybe I can and cab it back with my bags. Is it safe to walk over near there or should I just take a cab?

Cabs tend to be pretty reasonable in Vegas. I'd just take a cab and save your legs. Check with the hotel concierge too about maybe there being a drug even closer and maybe even within walking distance. I'm sure there is one, I just can't place in my head exactly where it is on the strip.
You're coming from RI?? Wow! That's so cool! Are you a Patriots fan?

To my knowledge, cabs are costly in Vegas (mainly because they operate up and down the strip--the busier it is, the higher your cab fair will be). If you can get the driver to take you an alternate way, it may be more inexpensive. Where is the WalMart in terms of the strip??

FYI...there's an outlet mall not far from the strip with some great stores in it. Might not be a bad idea to check that out either.

This the Walmart address. It says 2.32 miles from my hotel. I was wondering if I could bus it going up and cab it coming back.

Yeah, I am going to check that out too. At least at Walmart I know that I will be able to get the kind of things that I want cheap even though it is not my favorite place.

Here's a map of the strip (and the streets leading to it). Cab may be the most inexpensive.

Yeah, I think I will just cab it. I have to return something at Walmart so that will cover my cost of the cab anyway.

Actually that Fashion Show Mall looks pretty good. They have a Macy's and they sometimes have some good deals there.

lasvegas.com is showing a great rate for Circus Circus Tuesday-thursday. It's 54.95 a night and includes accomadations in the skyrise tower (the good place to stay at Circus, DO NOT STAY IN THE MANOR LODGE). It also includes:
- Skyrise Tower room accommodations
- $4 off Adventuredome
- Kids eat free at Stivali Ristorante Mon. - Thu. from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM
- Free Funbook ($100 value)
It's called the spring thrills package. Circus, Circus is on the strip not too far from Caesar's and accross the street from a subway stop (saharra's)

They opened a Ross store on the strip. HAven't been in that particular one, but they have some inexpensive clothes. (Across from the Frontier)

The Howard Johnson right near the airport is like $39 a night during the week. I just stayed there and it wasn't a great motel but definitely decent and safe. And it's close to the strip and they offer shuttle service to the strip also.

I'm staying at the Imperial Palace for $65. Bourbon Street also had a pretty good rate... I think it was $59.
