Hey guys!
I was just in Vegas from April 28th-May 2nd, and I happened to catch Celine's show on the 29th. We were in Section 3 row JJ Seats 303 and 304...
The venue is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! There is REALLY not a bad seat in the house. Now row JJ, put us at about 9th row, but it felt more like 4th-5th. Everyone in the front orchestra shouldn't worry a bit! Even you Ledgies everywhere else. The last row at the last section is even darn good!
Security was tight, and yes, they do use metal detectors. Put, dont be embarrassed about being caught with a camera...its Vegas, everyone has a camera. They check it in and you get it after the show (worst case scenario).
If you guys have any questions about the venue post it here and ill be happy to answer it :xoxo:
As far as other shows I did which I HIGHLY recommend....we saw Rita Rudner (FUNNIEST WOMAN EVA!! ) She had us on the floor! Plus we saw Cirque du Soleil's "O" (BLEW MY MIND...BEST SHOW I SAW) And we saw Zumanity (The adult version of Cirque Du Soleil....18 and over only. It was so cool, but you leave and all you wanna do is take your significant other to the hotel room and ...you know....tusk!
If you have EXTRA time catch these shows!!!!! They were amazing!!!!!
BTW, We were on the Today show Friday morning and I have pics of matt and katie to post later, but for now....heres a good one of me in front of a stevie poster! :) And me and Lauren in front of Harrah's.

Very cool, Alex! You look great in your pics. I soooooo want to see "O" sometime. I'm glad you posted info about the venue. So, now, my 12th row seats will be more like...7th or 8th!!! :D Rad!
I have a question - can you blade around?

Good question! Also, how high would you estimate the stage to be?
Nice pics by the way.

Nope but funny you should mention...cause Stevie's gonna practically have to on that stage! She was not kidding AT ALL when she said the stage was huge. Celine and her dancers have to RUN across the stage...thats how big it is....Plus, I hope Stevie uses flying things like Celine does.....I hope watching Celine's show hasnt risen my expectation levels far beyond what they should be. But Stevie could really make an amazing show if she puts her mind to it...and hires lots of dancers

The stage is at quite an incline....the front is way lower than the back....walking, it took Celline a verse and a chorus of "A new day has come" to reach the front of the stage!!! That should give you an idea of how big it is..

Well, how was Celine?
Actually Celine was pretty good vocally. She sang some of her hits. By far her best 2 songs were "I Surrender" and "To Love You More" She sings the end of TLYM and it blows you away. But, the night we went everyone was clapping at the end cause it was her sons first time seeing her show, so they clapped for like 3 minutes, and the whole time they had her face on the IMAX screens and she was sooo acting to try to cry....I left and I told Lauren "They should've given her a f***ing academy award". But other than that, pretty neat

They dont scan the purses, so that might work, but I didnt see a flash go off in the audience...they are pretty nazi-ish about cameras. As far as guards....one in front of each row at the stage.

First of all, I hadn't seen a picture of you since you've been busting your ass working out. You look great!! I can't wait to meet you both! Glad you guys had a great time. Excellent news about the stage too. I really hope she utilizes the room that she has. The thing I'm interested in knowing that that i'm aware there is an orchaestra pit--does that extend out a bit further than the stage? A lot of people were wanting to run up for Edge but if that's there, i'm thinking it may not be possible.

I remember when I saw Stevie in Vegas at the Aladdin she was reaching out to shake hands with the old high roller farts sitting in the front row who barely acknowledged her! When you say there's barely any room, do you mean between the front row and the front of the stage?

And is there much distance from where the front row sits and the actual stage?

Does it look possible to have the Edge rush at this venue or will that likely be curbed? For those of us in section 2 and 6, any of the seats maybe have an obstructed view from speaker placement issues?

If the orchaestra pit (where they keep musicians for Celine's show) extends out further than the stage, ya'll will be diving into it. I think that's what he means by not much room up there but perhaps i'm misreading what his answer is.

I dunno. Marissa and I were just talking about the configuration, and the more I look at the stage, it really wouldn't surprise me if Stevie just came down the stairs and walked along the front row to shake hands. She did it in the old days, so why not now? It's only a couple shallow steps. She'll have security. And Edge would be toward the end of the show, so if people did rush the stage, it would only be for one or two songs... not much time for a riot to break out ;). Have there ever been Stevie solo shows in which the whole Edge of 17 "tradition" was dispensed with?

I believe Stevie couldn't do it at a few venues (A Day in the Garden '98, maybe?). It definitely has been skipped before although not often.

At A Day In The Garden there was a HUGE gap in between the stage and the audience (I was in the front). She was unable to shake hands but she did walk the length of the stage, look at everyone and wave with a huge smile on her face.

If I were Stevie I would be scared to allow people to rush the stage if all they had to do was walk up three steps and be standing right next to her. She would be swarmed by fans! I really hope she just walks down the stairs and shakes hands, although this is not likely. But if security hovered near Stevie she could do it! I am so excited because these shows will be so different then anything she has ever done. It adds to the thrill not having any idea what will go down in Vegas if you ask me.

Would a bunch of change set it off? I mean it is Vegas and people might carry a bunch of quarters on them. That is why I think that they might hand search bags. Of course the problem might be getting caught with it at the show. :distress:

Diss, shouldn't you be orgasming over Bette right now? :p
I orgasmed over it last summer. :p I thought it was something new, but it's the same one that they aired when The Stepford Wives came out. Good one, though, especially since it's two hours. They busted out lots of old footage that I had never seen and the pro-shot footage from the Kiss My Brass tour is great. Homegirl is in a class all by herself.
