if you're going midweek you can pull up rooms for $40 and under, off the strip.
www.lasvegashotels.com
www.lasvegas.com
these had pretty much the same prices, vegas hotels (http://www.lasvegashotels.com) had more of a selection. the farther away you get, the more you'll end up paying in cabs though. i found a great map (http://www.lasvegas.com/maps/strip_map.htm) showing where all the hotels are. i haven't checked out the monorail map yet, but i'm assuming that it will be easy to stay at one of the cheaper hotels up the strip so long as it's on the rail line. Circus Circus and the New Frontier have rooms for $50. Boardwalk shows rooms for $64. i just booked my room a few hours ago, these prices were good as of late sunday night.

Well if you need some Vegas money - you could always start a bogus Ebay auction to get your ass there :p ;)
It worked so well for the crazy who already tried it
seriously though - good luck :D

Aww, Dee! Is there really no way? You keep getting oh-so-close, it's like a sign that you should go, IMO. You'd really only need 2 days off, 3 tops if you planned it right.

what I did find out is that hotels are far expensive on weekends. All kind of hotels. I stayed one saturday night at a Days inn (ugly) and it wasn't a big difference from an Excalibur or Mandalay on weekdays.
But that was may 2003. Don't know right now.

I understand why you're not going. But maybe because of all that bullsh*t is why you should go? Like in the middle of all of this just do this thing for Brian. The mess will be there when you get back. Just a thought.

You can't avoid Stevie in the states forever!!! :D
You've said that before, but I don't really get it. I mean, I just expect you to be a person. What remarkable personality flaw could you possibly have? geesh. I'm sure i'm much more annoying than you. Or perhaps I'd be "disappointed" because, when we went out, everyone would hit on you? okay, I'm just making sh** up, now.

I just got back from Vegas so I can help you. My friend and I stayed at the Howard Johnson right next to the airport. During the week it was only $37 a night. It wasn't a great motel but definitely decent and not scary or anything like that. They also offer free shuttle service to the strip but it's not always on time. I hope that helps.

that's what matt is doing. we're flying in tuesday and he's leaving wednesday. i thought that this trip was going to be much more expensive than it's turning out to be. i've found airfare as low as $99 and hotels? aren't that much. even the flamingo is decently priced. ps, being a rochestarian - you listen to WBER? i miss it sooo much.

You found air for $99?! I'm hella pissed, my flight is 1 1/2 hours, and it was $184. Course, if I had booked it one day earlier, it would've been $144... okay, sorry, just had to express my hellapissedness at cheap airfair for people flying ACROSS THE COUNTRY, while I'm barely going two steps.... :)

She had to have meant one way. I don't think you can fly to Vegas and back from here for $99!

Thanks for your help guys, I am pretty much certain to be coming, all this research is for the case to parents at the moment, you see I have a trip to Japan planned for October but it looks as though that will fall through so I can go Vegas, plus we are having renovations at home at the moment but we decided not to get a pool so that clearS up more money, and if I can arrange it cheap enough, things are looking very promising, I would put myself about 90% chance at the moment.
