When I first got In the Meantime I only really liked about 4 songs a lot and Northern Star wasn't one of those. But now 6 months later I just listened to it again and I don't why but OMG is it an amazing song. It's so freaking great one of her best songs EVER and by far the best on the album. Everyone seems to love Calumny but I think it sucks compared to the wonderful Norhtern Star. Does anyone else really love this song.

Good for you, Homer. ;)
I also love "Northern Star", although I'm one of those who loves "Calumny" more. Christine's vocals are FANTASTIC on both of these songs. Dan Perfect is a great song writer too. I wonder if he has written any more like these 2 terrific songs.

I hope so, and certainly hopes she chooses to do another project in a year or two. Those two songs are my favorite two on the album. :woohoo:

Tommer, you can't just talk ABOUT Chris in her forum, your opinions on her, and such, you HAVE to say something good. I know it says it's a Chris forum, which implies you can talk about her, but it's under a new regime now, and that just isn't the case. Hope this little tip helped you out. :) Oh, by the way, I haven't heard any In the Meantime songs at all. :wavey:

AMber,
Then why do you bother coming to Chris' forum?
This was the only question I asked. What's wrong with that?
I now refer you, to the bun!

This was the only question I asked. What's wrong with that!Yeah, but in all the other forums, when someone says something unflattering about that particular member, no one asks them why they're on the forum. :p Double standard! Anyway, I didn't take it that it to mean that Tommer just hated Christine just because he didn't like In the Meantime, anyway.
Anyway, I'm fond of "Northern Star," but I think my favorite song on that album is "Forgiveness," closely followed by "Friend."

"forgiveness" is my favourite too, but in terms of "northern star" it was definitely one of those ones that grew on me. i wasn't a fan at first, but i remember listening to it about a month after having ITM and it was like i was hearing a different song!
i know i'm going to be in the minority here, but really the only song i dislike on ITM is "so sincere". yes, it's sacreligious, and i am thoroughly ashamed!! :sorry:

I LOVE "Forgiveness" too. I love how the song changes near the end. It's one of my favorites, just after "Calumny" & "Friend". "Givin' It Back" is another favorite of mine. Nobody hardly ever mentions that song. I love the lyrics. I believe she wrote them about her brother/family. I don't dislike any song on the album. But my least favorite songs are "Easy Come Easy Go" & believe it or not, "So Sincere".

the only song I don't really care for is Easy Come, Easy Go.

I don't see why someone commenting they don't like Chris's new album means that they shouldn't visit her board?

She might have done!
In one interview last year she said she wouldn't marry again but she had her dogs!

Well, Dougal & George did get their picture in the CD booklet. It would be kind of funny if she wrote it about them. I still think it's about her family though. It's nice to know I'm not the only one who loves "Givin' It Back". Also, my opinion of "Easy Come Easy Go" may have a little bit to do with a certain co-writer of that song. ;)

Maybe there's some bad blood, going back to slurs he made against my Mom(then recently deceased, although unbeknownst to him).

I have no clue about that. Maybe you should deal with that via PM's. It just seemed un-necessary to question someone visiting this board just because they didn't like that album. JMO

I made no slur against anyone's mother in a public forum. And, usually, never respond to any posts made by this individual. I guess I forgot this time. :sorry:

Thanks. I can totally relate to what Brian's going through. I would think that losing a child would be about the only pain that could be worse than losing your mother. For me, the mourning decreases, but the sense of loss only increases over time...

The loss of a loved one is always painful, but I can't think of anything more painful than losing a mother or losing a child.

Good for you and your kids. And I felt odd about typing on that subject. I know there's a great deal of variation in different families. Almost all of my family, even extended family, is very close.
