I always thought this was a RAL outtake, and I love the version that was on (i believe) www.stevie-nicks.info with all the RAL masters. lovvve it.

But I just found out that it was a Street Angel B-side? Which made me look for the SA-era version. The one that's up on buckinghamnicks.net is the same RAL one I have! Her voice is distinctly 1985, not 1994 whatsoever. Even the production dates it clearly to the mid-80s.

So my question is, did she rerecord this song in the nineties, so that it would fit with her new voice and production style? or did she just release the RAL master one?

And if there is another, newer version, where can I find it? Thanks!

Good question. The recordings (either the B-side on cassette or the bootleg tracks) always left me a little confused. There was always something about them that didn't sound like 1985-era vocals to me. Maybe they're even earlier than that -- maybe they're 1984, when Stevie was coming down off the 1983 highs, & her voice was dulling out a bit.

I guess when track lists were starting to leak for "Rock a Little," "Mirror Mirror" was listed -- although none of these recordings was in the hands of fans until the 1990s.

But the recording that is in wide circulation now-- the one with the 80's vocals and production-- is the same one that's on the Blue Denim B-side? If that's the case, I'm just a little surprised. She has a history of rerecording old songs so that they sound more in keeping with the times or the rest of her album. (Smile at You, Love Is, etc.)
