The reason I ask is that at the end of my Mother's funeral on the 25th something weird happened, As we were getting ready to load our car with flowers a wild rabbit (Being chased by 2 Beagles) ran right into my sister-in-laws feet, Looked around for a second and then ran off.

That was weird considering even the funeral home director saw it and mentioned it was a sign from our Mom from the otherside letting us know everything will be alright.

My sister Lesa (Who was unable to attend due to medical reasons) has noticed that one red rose she has in a vase keeps changing position, She thought it was her cats messing with it but she put the vase up outta the kitties and the same thing continued...Lesa told me about it and I laughed at her because she never knew Mom loved red roses, So much we had rose bushes aound our housewhen we were growing up.

Just the other night as I talked to Lesa about Mom no sooner did I say Mom's name and Lesa said her living room grew cold and her PC crashed for no apparent reason...All I could say to that was "Isnt that weird?" (Lesa isnt knowledgeable in the things of Fleetwood Mac)

My older brother Geary left our home for his home on Tuesday and on his trip home his truck started acting weird. He stopped at a gas station to get some fuel for his Surburban and bought his family lunch and when he went to start his truck it would not even start up, He checked everything and didnt have a clue...So the gas station attendant gave him a boost and his truck temp gauge maxed out for no apparent reason...So he loosen the radiator cap figuring built up pressure caused the problem with the gauge (The excessive fluid overflowed into the overflow container). So he decided to try to make it home and said he said out loud jokingly "Are you trying to send us a message Mom?" and the next thing he knew was his truck's problems seemed to have disappearred...Maybe our Mom is playing jokes on us from the otherside, So have any of y'all had anything similar happen after losing a loved one? And did it seem like they're sending you a message that everything will be alright?

Yes, I do believe in the afterlife. I don't remember anything odd happening after my Mom passed away, however.

Well, actually I did have something odd happen when she died. I was trying to get out of an appointment with a friend and I remember dreaming that my Mom told me that " I know that it is awful but at least you don't have go tonight now." A few minutes later my Dad was knocking on me bedroom door that something was wrong with my Mom. She had passed already. The really odd thing that I remember was that night just a few short hours before she was really happy and smiling. I think that she already knew.

Being a Christian and seeing/experiencing things that are unexplainable, I most definitely believe in the after life. I believe in Heaven and Hell. I also believe in angels, and that the people who've passed already are still with us here, for various reasons.

My mom had a weird experience once on the way to pick me up from work. She told me after she picked me up that she had looked in the rear view mirror and saw a man's face. She said she wasn't scared and was peaceful after she saw him. I believe this was either her angel or her baby brother who died as an infant. :)

I don't believe it any of that stuff. When you die, you die. But I have an odd little story.

I used to have three cats. The oldest cat was Maxie and she was sweet and loveable and had to be put down. Nothing weird happened after that. My second oldest cat was super smart. She would kitty-talk all the time and played mind**** games like purposefully running in front of me to try to trip and just generally piss me off. She was polydactyl and very independant and quite the character- very smart. My third cat is part siamese and a complete and utter dope. She is sooooo dumb. So much so, that I think she's a little bit of a kitty retard- ya know, her brain seems to shut down and she just sits there frozen.

Anyways.... ever since my second cat was put down, the dopey cat has started to manifest many of the characteristics of her. I can't explain it and it's very strange. She's talky/gabby and does all these things that my other used to do.

I'm attributing it to the fact that dopey probably is sowing her oats now that she's the top kitty. In any case, it's weird.

I believe that people send messages from the other side. I know someone who has meet and worked on a case with a "medium." This person didn't believe that such things were possible either, until they worked with the medium, and the medium proved herself over and over again. Also, not to sound corny, but the show "Medium" is based on a real person, also. Therefore, I believe people send message from the other side, if you're perceptive enough to notice them, which obviously you are.

After my hubby died, and I moved into a new house, my outdoor lightbulbs on either side of the garage kept burning out. No sooner then I would replace one, the other would go out. This happened about 6, 8 times within a couple of months. Someone suggested Jason was messing with me. So, when I went to replace another burnt bulb, I told him to "leave 'em the f*ck alone..." Needless to say, I haven't replaced a bulb since. There was a couple of times in the past 2 years (I can't believe it's been that long) that I've wondered aloud where something was, and I clearly hear his voice in my head telling me where to look. Sure enough, it's where I'm told to go. Yes, I absolutely believe in the afterlife.

Aw, Lux, you had me going there!

Anyway, I do believe in an afterlife, though I think it's a really vague term that means different things to different people. My Mom wouldn't want me to share the details on a message board, but just let me say that we feel pretty certain that some of our family members who have passed on contacted us shortly afterward, and sometimes I think they continue to do so. So, I do think that your mom might have been trying to tell your family that she's okay, Brian. I believe that that's possible. I'm not the most spiritual person and I don't really believe in God other than one that might have created the world and that's the extent of it, but I do believe in the human spirit, and I also believe that love survives death into eternity, so I think that your mom could be watching over all of you, wanting you to know that she's okay and wanting to help you all cope.

I just find ALL then banners to be a waste of bandwidth. Why do we have to scroll through them? Sorry, but I find them annoying. No offense, jmo.I like looking at people's banners. They're decorations and ways of showing that we're devoted fans. Why not? I was thrilled about my Stevie & Christine banner when Mikki made it for me. Besides, some of us are supporting Ledgies so why wouldn't we have the privilege of displaying banners and such?

I absolutely believe in an afterlife  And I also believe that our dead loved ones send us signs and things from beyond...some crazy things happened to my grandma after my great-grandma died - and an ex co-worker of mine had some amazing stories from after her brother died.

I, personally, don't have any afterlife stories - but I completely and wholeheartedly believe that there is life in some form after death.

I really do believe in the afterlife. I've had so many experiences but I'll just share one here. When I was growing up, our next door neighbors were an elderly couple. The man liked to "sneak" over into our yard and "borrow" our roses--cut a few for his wife to take her. We didn't mind and loved this man very much. He was a very sweet man and I thought of him as a grandfather figure, as both of mine were dead by this time. Anyway, he had a massive, fatal heart attack and died. I was about 12 at the time and the day after he was buried, I got sick and stayed home from school. My Mom was in our den with me, watching TV when all of a sudden, we both smelled the faint smell of roses. The smell got stronger and stronger until it was simply overwhelmng. My dog, who had been asleep at my feet, got up, the fur ruffled up on his back and looked up at me bewildered. My mother looked over at me and said, "Do you smell that?" I replied, "Yes!" And with that, the smell vanished. There were no room deoderizers in the room. Neither of us were wearing perfume. And oh yeah, did I mention this was in the dead of winter-January--and it was about 30 degrees outside--no roses anywhere near us either inside or outside that house.

Well I'm hardly the expert but I am better than when I first started using graphics and that's half the key. The trick to making that one a two minute job was not caring what she looked like in the picture but just grabbing ones with the same background colour and then not bothering to use an effects. Most of the task is already completed then. I suppose advertising is inappropriate but I was going to direct you here (http://www.livejournal.com/users/lux_adams/) anyway. I gave in to the Stevie-loving masses.

So, the afterlife hey?

I do, because there is just too many stories, ghost, weird things people have experienced, etc. But I'm not sure exactly what it is. Energy can't be created or destroyed, right? Or is that matter? Anyway, I think differently about energy than many people, and I think the energy does still exist when people die, I just don't know what it does or where it goes (barring tales of ghost, lost loved ones, etc. I guess we know what that energy is doing.) Patricia Arquette told a story similar to brian's about her deceased mother on a talk show recently (it was a bird, though, I think). Anyway, stuff like that happens to people all the time, so I really can't discount that there is something.

Mine is private seeing as I'm reluctant to let just anybody come and browse the random exclamations and pictures of the cockroaches on my floor that I appear to use it for. That's just the public bit which consists of my offerings but the actual 'journal' (it's not a "this is how I feel", "like oh my god, he likes me" thing) is private. If you're that interested in my excuse for a life then you can sign up and be added to those who can read, heck, you can even make your own if you desire.

Oh and didn't you know? I'm the one twirling through those icons draped in chiffon.Okay, I'll sign up, then. :)

I also believe. I've got goosebumps from some of your stories. Patty, the dream with your mother is wild, I'm sorry you lost her so young. I still have both of my parents but neither takes very good care of themselves so I worry about them all the time.

I haven't had real physical things happen, just very strong feelings that I was with someone who had passed, especially in my dreams. I dreamed of my grandfather the other night, he had this giant, warm smile on his face and his arms stretched out wide and said, "I've missed you kids so much!" and gave me the best hug. I woke up feeling so good. Probably just a dream but you never know, I felt like I had really been with him.

It's very fascinating stuff, you should read about it. Quantum physicists believe that there are different realities coexisting with one another and that when we observe and look at things, we're not seeing the things as they truly are in reality.

I think it is funny people are afraid of something made by Parker Brothers. :) Objects are not good or evil, it's just how they are used.

As far as the afterlife, yup. Been clinically Dead twice. On my medical records and everything. I think it differs with each person. Was part of a PHD study, and, yes, some of it can be explained by the loss of oxygen to the brain, chemical excreations at death, body shutdowns, medications at time of death, ...etc. But some of it can't be expalined. I experienced things and came back knowing details that I would not have known in any other way. (Was only 12 at the time). So for me.... I have to say...yup.

'Tis good advice. Before my grandmother passed away, I would visit her in England several times a year, and she would always want to play the freakin' Ouija board. Aliens didn't give you an anal probe, did they?

Oh, wait. Different subject. Sorry.

JK, btw, I think it's cool that you saw (or heard or felt or whatever) something while you were dead. I definitely believe.

My grandpa died when I was 9. We brought over a bunch of his furniture to our house after cleaning his place out. One item was a fridge, which my parents stuck in the basement, figuring it would be a good beer fridge. They didn't bother putting the shelves back in or the door back on after moving it, since we didn't need it right away. They put the bolts/hinges on top of it & forgot about it.

Until about a week later when my dad (who worked full time, often out of town) asked my mom (who is a terrible housekeeper, let alone handyman) when she put the fridge back together. She didn't. But sure enough, the door was on, shelves were in & it was ready to go.

Thanks, grandpa! :p

Until about a week later when my dad (who worked full time, often out of town) asked my mom (who is a terrible housekeeper, let alone handyman) when she put the fridge back together. She didn't. But sure enough, the door was on, shelves were in & it was ready to go.

Thanks, grandpa! :p

I have a great majority of my Mother's personal belongings stored in our extra bedroom, If I start to hear DISCO music playing from in there then I may freak out & yell at her spirit to turn that **** off

at the funeral home, believe it or not, I was asked what do I think Mom is doing at the moment, My reply was easy:

"She is chasing men down in the afterlife, While driving in her 1976 Trans-Am and asking to check their, uh, fire-hoses"

I am surprised she didn't want to be buried in her favorite t-shirt though:

"I gave up Sex for bowling, The balls are lighter and you dont need to change your shoes"

I think Mom left me the DISCO music just to pay me back for always rippin' on it (Man, Talk about hauntin' someone from the grave, DISCO is the worse way to accomplish that  ). She has a large record crate which is filled with nuthin' but DISCO:

ABBA
The Bee Gees (Who I happen to like)
The Village People (Hardy-Har-Har!!!)
Sister Sledge
Chic

Just dont get me started on her huge as hell 8 track tape collection of DISCO (I did see the Fleetwood Mac self-titled 8 tracktape in her collection along with the VHS of "Classic Album:Rumours" & the cd of "Fleetwood Mac Greatest Hits"...Man, She must be laughin' at me for sure  )

You guys are so lucky, my mom hated Disco (except Staying Alive). I had to listen to a lot of country around that time.... she also hated smooth, El Lay rock. *sigh* Lots of Doors. Lots.

OK, I am a closet DISCO fan here! I also like funk. :D

I like The Bee Gees, KC and the Sunshine Band, Earth Wind and Fire, Donna Summer, etc.

PS:
I heard on the news tonight that Barbra Streisand is going to be working with Barry Gibb from the Bee Gees again on a new album.

She should drop the singing act and focus on movies, because she was a riot in Meet the Fockers.

Not literally. In a sense as long as you remember them, no one is really dead. Both my parents are dead but to me, since I remember them, and I recall things they said, they seem alive. Also a person's influence remains. But literal Resurrection, no. It's humans trying to flatter themselves.

Oh my, she really was hysterical in this. I completely agree. I love her voice but am not interested in paying a minor king's ransom to see her when I'd likely fall asleep.
