. . . used the marching band on "Sisters of the Moon" in concert.

. . . broken up after the Mirage Tour & then started making experimental snuff films for the international festival circuit.

. . . written social problem plays with Peter Green in the manner of Sean O'Casey.

. . . turned away from the mass/mob audience & done a club tour with Peter, Paul & Mary -- only acoustic guitars, acoustic basses & brushes.

. . . Let Stevie show the birds of Rhiannon more on stage...

. . . Made sure Bob Welch was inducted into the Rock 'N' Roll Hall Of Fame with them...

No Mick drum solos, ever.

Tango In The Night should have just been Buckingham/McVie, no Stevie.

Some of those terrific Rick Vito outtakes should have been on Behind The Mask.

Bob Welch should have been inducted into the Hall of Fame. If Jeremy & Danny deserved to be inducted(and they did), then Bob should have been inducted too.

Fleetwood Mac should have ended once and for all at the conclusion of the Dance tour.

Fleetwood Mac should have....

- no regrets. They are among the last of a dying breed - that is, a successful band that originated as a group of artists - musicians and songwriters - who were doing what they loved, and not because record industry types were telling them to

- great pride when they look back over the past 30+ years

- appreciation for their fans who have stayed with them through the ups and downs

These are some of the few suggestions put forth so far that I can agree with... other than, of course, the no more Mick solos that many have suggested. Ugh. I can't stand him and that f*cking vest. True True.....I want a full-on DRUM solo...not a drum vest solo.

Though -the drum vest was cool and fun and novel the first time I saw it....it does get old however - mostly because there doesn't seem to be a whole lot involved.

I'm all for bringing back the DRUM solo and nixing (hmm...Nicks-ing. LOL) the vesterbation. It was cool....the first time. After that, not so much, I got bored of it quickly. Perhaps he shouldn't have done it for so long, that may have helped.

The drum solos from back in the day, I say YAY to! Those were awesome!! I think they should each have a chance to shine in the spotlight, oh, and John, come out of the shadows, dude.

......wear different or slightly different outfits on each night of the tour. A few different accessories or something would make it interesting! (What will be different tonight? What will they have on?) If you see them in the exact same thing everytime they're on TV or on stage, etc., it is really boring.

......Lindsey speak "Off the Cuff" on stage instead of repeating the same exact things at every stop on the tour. A little less philosophy, and a little more about what the song is about or how he came to write it.

......let other members of the band speak to the audience. Mix it up with each member saying something, especially John.

......release all of their previously released videos on DVD and put out some other material on DVD (interviews, live shows, outtakes, backstage/behind the scenes, rehearsals, etc. from years before the Say You Will era).
.......put together and release remastered bootlegs/outtakes from all eras besides the stuff we got with the remastered Fleetwood Mac, Rumours, and Tusk CD sets.

.......put out a d@mn, wall calendar EVERY YEAR, not just one year!

.......(as several people have said before me) inducted Bob Welch into the Roll 'N Roll Hall of Fame with them as a member of Fleetwood Mac. He was definitely a big part of the band for several years.

I'll take that over her Tango tracks, dear. I can only imagine if What Has Rock & Roll Ever Done For You was on it. *shudder*The only "problem" I have with "Welcome To The Room... Sara," is that, thematically, it doesn't fit the tone of the rest of the album. I quite like the song itself, but it would have been much better suited to one of Stevie's solo albums, IMO.

I love "Seven Wonders" and, of course, my love for "When I See You Again" knows no bounds... I think they fit the album perfectly, and I tend to feel that 12 songs of strictly Chris and Lindsey in that "glossy pop" style would've been a bit too much. Especially if "Ricky" (which I do love -- but I can see why it didn't make the cut) and "Special Kind Of Love" were included.

But, yes, I do see why many other fans hate Stevie's 'Tango' contributions. I also see why many people hate Lindsey's 'Tusk' contributions. Those particular songs can definitely be "jagged little pills," so to speak... especially in the context of a Fleetwood Mac album.

I don't think so. :) I redid Tango & burned a new CD. I took out the 3 Stevie songs & added "You And I, Part I", "Down Endless Street" & "Ricky". I just don't like her songs on the album although I love her & Lindsey's backing vocals on "Little Lies". A glossy pop album of 12 Buckingham/McVie songs sounds pretty darn good to me. :D I'm certainly glad they didn't do anything with "Special Kind Of Love". I think "What's Rock & Roll Ever Done For You" is awful. I think that song may be even worse than "When I See You Again" & "Welcome To The Room Sara...", if that's possible. ;)

That's exactly why it needed for thought and effort. Nothing gels together, everything is just haphazardly thrown onto there. It's as if they had a bunch of songs, recorded them, and put them on an album. They had no regard for how it runs, no regard for theme, no ability to distinguish the good from the bad, and we just ended up with a behemoth of an album. If they had actually put some thought into it, it might have been one of their best records.

agreed, except for Tusk. That's perfection in directness AND production.
And I can imagine that could have been for GOS, too.

I can't even stand Seven Wonders, I think it's awful. Crap voice, crap lyrics. You push the rhetorical license to the limit, diss. I never know for certain where you stand. The "Seven Wonders" track is one of the best things Fleetwood Mac has ever done, from an engineering standpoint. How many other bands & their employees can get a mix like that out of themselves? every instrument is precisely where it needs to be, every vocal track (lead or backup) sounds as if it were either singing right in front of you or whispering in your ear. Nothing oversteps its sonic bounds, nothing saturates anything else. Same thing with not only "When I See You Again" but the rest of the album. It's immensely satisfying as a technical masterstroke, & hey that's enough for me ... yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah ...

I don't care whether the lyrics are stupid or the melody is dull (except for "Welcome to the Room") or the vocal itself is disspirited or zonked as long as the track glistens like opals & emeralds. That's what's so good about Fleetwood Mac -- that & the fact that they all play their instruments in weird ways. I don't think the songs themselves are anything more than more-or-less good pop songs. Nothing throughout the whole catalog (except maybe "Before the Beginning") is as great a bare song as "Yesterdays" or "Easy Living" or "Lush Life" or even "Eleanor Rigby." But it's the tracks that are special, folks. It's all about the tracks.

Your mileage may vary & so on & so forth ....

At the time though Amber it sounded so modern and fresh, but nearly 20 years on, it just sounds too 80s. I don't think it's aged as well as other Mac albums.

Big Love, Seven Wonders and Everywhere still kick ass though. Thems some top tunes, if I do say so myself :)

Gerald have you heard the new Ryan Adams song? It really is a return to form - it's fab!

No, not yet. Thanks for the heads up!

The album was recorded and RELEASED in the '80's...gee, how appropos for it.

You mean like:
The Queen Is Dead
The Head on The Door
Purple Rain
Let's Dance
Sister
Fisherman's Blues
Avalon Sunset

Just to tell some.. And they still sound pretty actual to me. It's not a quality that I find predominant on TITN.

Seven Wonders is catchy, but her vocal is the pits. I never listen to her Tango stuff.

The verse after the first chorus, oh my word. She sounds like she's shredding her vocal chords.

I love old "Big Love" by Lindsey... fantastic...

I love new "Big Love" by Lindsey too so I don't know where I stand..

Then again I love "Old Love" by Eric Clapton...

Anybody done a "New Love"? :]There's always "Mad Love" with Peter Lorre!

To go back on topic, sorta...

...locked Chris in a cage so she couldn't leave. ;)
...hired me to play keyboards and sing Chris's backups (failing the cage option).
(In all seriousness, I can play her better than the other two keyboardists they brought.)

As for Tango in general... it IS an 80's album.
That's what people were doing back then!

Oh, and I am avaliable for hire anytime they need me. :)

Have front row tickets and meet and greet passes for all Ledgies!

Never, ever let Lindsey wear that white T-shirt again!

Ditto for Stevie's black granny sweater and dress.

Bob Welch should have been inducted into the Hall of Fame. If Jeremy & Danny deserved to be inducted(and they did), then Bob should have been inducted too.

Actually, I would have also included Billy and Rick. If we're being honest, Jeremy and Danny were only inducted because they were in Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac. By that same logic, Billy and Rick were in the second most successful incarnation of Fleetwood Mac, having sold more albums internationally and having played in front of more people than any other non-Rumours Mac. Sure, THEY weren't the stars of the show, but neither were Danny or Jeremy.

I think that song may be even worse than "When I See You Again" & "Welcome To The Room Sara...", if that's possible. ;)

Really, the only Stevie song I don't like from "Tango" is WISYA. If I could redo the album, I'd replace that song with "Book Of Miracles" and I'd replace "Family Man" with "Down Endless Street."

What about Clapton's "Bad Love"?

That song has perhaps my favorite Clapton solo. I loved the "Journeyman" album. BTW, I always thought that Stevie and Christine should cover "Run So Far."

Yeah, but I think we could forget "Groovy Kind Of Love" by Phil Collins
