Okay, this is my first post as I was officially granted permission to post yesterday. So, here goes...
As we all know, Stevie loves to use the word "well" in her songs usually to start a sentence as kind of a filler word. My friend and I spent a day emailing back and forth favorite uses of the word "well" in Stevie Nicks songs. So, anyone care to start a thread. This could either totally flop to the disgust of all of you or it could prove to be DAMN FUNNY. I'm hoping you guys will all be into this.
I'll start:
WELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL.... I don't think you do!

Well, you know me I'm a nomad
Well, I am not happy
And I am not crazy
Well, it's hard to be civil
And it's real hard to be nice!
Well I was your paper doll...paper doll
Well maybe I'm just thinking that the rooms are all on fire
Well, the dream has just begun
Well I make accommodations for you
Well it's one more link - in the chain
Well I'm waited for in Egypt...
Well she's got that feeling now
Well it is not heaven
And it has a garden

Every other word in that song is "well".
"Well, I say, well, there's no way out!"
The bridge is the only thing that saves that stinker....

"Well, I live below a great, red mountain
In the shade of a great, huge beast...."It's actually, "in the shape of a great, huge beast." ;)
My favorite use of "well," is also among Stevie's most excessive (though, as the Tower pointed out, they don't come more excessive than "Two Kinds Of Love" -- she's even got Bruce Hornsby doing it!).
From the 'Red Rocks' "Outside The Rain"....
"Well, well, they say that this is just a dream.
Ooh, well.
Well, I don't want to hear that.
Well, Mick says Stevie,
'This is just one more link in the chain,
And do not break the chain, please.'
And, I say, and, I say, 'well, I have to believe him'...."

totally! Maybe we should say the song has to contain the word GERBIL or something impossible like that! WELL appears in every single song she's ever written! SHADOW is another total filler word too, eh? The best use of that word is "In the SHADOW of my SHADOW." Totally laugh my ass off when I hear her sing that one! And the fact that the song My Heart (out take from Trouble in Shangri-La) opens with the word SHADOW is hilarious too!
Wellllllllllllll... the feeling remains even after the glitter fades

All these years, I always sing "shade" thinking that her house would be shadowed by Camelback Mountain. "Shape" is not as good as "shade".

It's really revolting listening to him sing the wells. OY!!!!

I, also, have an odd fascination with this and all the other songs from that performance. She was sooooooooooooooooo drugged out!! That really was the swan song of Stevie. She would never have the same passion for live performances after that tour.

All these years, I always sing "shade" thinking that her house would be shadowed by Camelback Mountain. "Shape" is not as good as "shade".Really? I prefer the lyric as it was written there (though I sometimes change a word or two when I'm singing along with Stevie. Hey, if she can do it, so can I!).
The Camelback Mountain is in the shape of a great, huge beast. I just love that imagery.

I somehow changed the bulk of storms, yet it still made sense, before I knew the real lyrics... No Shmiggie. :)
