OK I keep checking TM to see if they have released any tickets for the Eagles here in Providence on the 19th and so far not even one shows up. Are the Eagles that popular? I am checking a few venues that they are playing very soon just to see if there is a release and still not a one.
I am really hoping to go see this show and not have to sit in the nosebleed section but I don't know now. One of the brokers that I used for the Mac tickets has 'hot deals' for every Eagles show except Providence.
Has anyone here had any luck with any Eagles ticket release in the past?

away Eagles tickets in OKC if ya left 'em waiting with a $100 bill attached to 'em...The $100 note would disappear but the ticket would remain
The Eagles have only had 1 successful show in OKC the past 3 years, And that was the first ever concert the Ford Center had after its opening in June 2002. When the Eagles played the Ford Center on their next visit they played to even less than quarter-capacity.

I hate The Eagles, so that post made my night. I guess OKC is little smarter then I thought. :wavey:

You know what? Every darn show has a different promoter listed. Guess what? I am now pulling up floor seats for the shows that Concerts West is promoting. I can't even read the darn logo for the Providence promoter so I have no idea who it is.

Yeah, I think The Eagles usually sell pretty well here too, and Vegas ticket prices are insanely high.

Concerts West in is part owned by The Eagles manager Irving Azoff.
Clear Channel must be promoting the other shows. They have recently instituted a policy of using the names of the local promoters the bought up a few years back. Some speculate that this is because of CC's bad rep. That could be why you are seeing a bunch of different promoters.
Or not.

That might explain it. Some are AEG, some C&C and some are names that seem that they might a local promoter.

Yes I've noticed that as well...Concerts West uses that as well as AEG, which owns Concerts West...
CC like you said may be trying to avoid their bad rep, especially since AEG/Concerts West has seriously stepped up in the competition--rather actually provided SOME major competition at all for big shows for CC..

"Clear Channel will also revive the names of local promoters who dominated their markets before SFX and Clear Channel bought so many of them. So Southern California concerts will be organized by Avalon, for example, while Texas concerts will be organized by Pace. Those local names will be the ones concertgoers see in advertising, not Clear Channel's."
""We had a bunch of magic in those local brands," Mr. Rapino says. "If we brought them back and made them the forefront for the consumer, it would be an easy connect."
The move also helps the concert venue escape from some of the bad publicity associated with Clear Channel's radio operations, which have been accused of consolidating and homogenizing local radio stations among other alleged sins, all of which the company disputes."

They conveniently forgot to mention the part where CC got sued and later settled out of court for an undisclosed sum, of course.

While we're on the subject of Concert Promoters, I know some of you know a lot about this stuff..I had a couple of questions..
I've read that sometimes promoters will pay for the hotels, limos, crew, managers, etc and sometimes artists pay for these expenses..
What is the usual practice for big bands like Fleetwood Mac and the Eagles?
I've also read that sometimes the promoter will PROVIDE a tour manager, sometimes the band hires their own..I wonder what Fleetwood Mac did with Marty Hom in 03...he seemed to tag around with AEG/Concerts West since he went to Bette Midler after FM finished their 2003 USA tour, and her tour was also promoted by them..
I know the bands are paid a guarantee, but if the guarantee is as large as the eagles and fleetwood mac it seems the promoter would make NO money if they had to pay for hotels, crew, jets, limos also

That's it! I found out that the name here in New England is Tea Party Concerts. I went to their web page and it brought me to a Clear Channel website.
Needless to say I can't find a ticket for the Dunk. The Eagles also have a VIP seat offer so I don't know if they will have a ticket release now.
I am still going to try anyway even if I wait early at the box office.

Chris, it all depends on the artist and their contract. In the case of someone like FM or the Eagles- they're covering their own overhead. If a promoter covers it, it comes out of the gross for the show, and because they tend to inflate their numbers (a $10 case of water becomes a $25 case of water, etc), the band walks away with less.
The whole CC/heritage names thing is annoying. I deal with promoters all day, every day, and it's the same damned people doing the same damned thing, just making everyone's life more complicated by now having to have checks made out to Ritual/SFX/Ron Delsener/whatever DBA Clear Channel among other things. What I hate the most is that now they want to split up stuff underneath the new banners. Oftentimes I'll be buying tickets for several different artists in the same city or the same region- shows that are dealt with by one of the regional offices, and handled by the same contact person. I used to be able to get all those tickets together once they were printed- in one convenient package. Now, they send them out to me separately- Ritual tickets can only go with other Ritual tickets, SFX can only go with SFX, etc. etc. Our UPS bill has tripled. Anyhow, it's a pain in the ass, and it's stupid.
Just as a general rule- unless a show is listed as being promoted by someone like AEG/Concerts West, NIPP, Jam, etc.- it's Clear Channel.
