I found these fairly recent pictures of Eddy Quintela(Christine's ex-husband). The first two are from 2000. In the second picture he's with his girlfriend at the time, Elena and other friends. The last picture is from 2001 & he's with his girlfriend.
The website where I found these pictures is an online diary from someone named Dawn Westlake. Here's how she described Eddy:
Sporting an infectious grin and endless European charm is my once Portuguese, now American, composer pal Eddy Quintela. He came in from Lisbon and took me to La Scala in Beverly Hills for a cheeky chopped salad. You know Eddy's work..."Tell Me Lies" is one of his many hits. And, that's the truth! His soccer team FC Sporting (yes, hit that link again, you Sportinguistas!) may have a chance to win the Euro Cup!
Apparently, Eddy Quintela wrote "Little Lies" all by himself.

OK, I nearly tossed my cookies. I'd seen the 2nd pic but not the 1st or 3rd. In every guy Chris has been with, I have seen the appeal.....except for this buster. One must assume he had an outstanding personality.
Also... when does Eddy plan on writing his next big hit? I await it with bated breath.
ugh. can you say 'lucky b*stard'?

I'm still waiting for his first big (solo) hit.
He hasn't been quite so succesful without his wife has he?
Still they were together for a long time so for a few years at least he must have made her happy.

Me thinks Christine was his 'Sugar Daddy'.
You got that right. I know that Chris & Eddy were married 11 years, but I don't get it at all. And, his girlfriend Elena...
I am also awaiting his 'next big hit'.

Could someone list all the songs they "co-wrote"?

I would give 99% of the credit for all of these songs to Eddy's "co-writer". ;)
By the way Doug, did you get those unreleased songs from that publisher's website that was posted here a while back?

Yes, this list is from that BMI site, which doesn't necessarily mean that it's complete.

The only thing I wonder about is the widespread use of the pentatonic in her "Tango" material. It may have been her own experimentation; I used to think it was Lindsey's idea. Maybe the five-tone idea came from Eddy back during the demo stage. We'd have to hear demos of those songs.

Yeah, I have to admit he is not nearly as attractive as McVie and Wilson. But then he is an ordinary man and maybe that was Chris' attraction to him.
As good as "Little Lies," "Love Shines," "Temporary One," and "Hollywood" are, I'm glad Christine has not continued the collaboration with him. Some of their shared credits are a bit generic.

I dont think he is repulsive - just ordinary and I agree that might have been the attraction.
They were together from 1983 to, I imagine, about 1997/98 so we have to assume that for some of that time they were happy. :xoxo:
I have no idea what Eddy is like but if this discussion were about a female I'd be mad as hell that all we were discussing was his looks.
For all we know he is a lovely chap and Chris was an A1 pain in the bum to live with (my God what am I saying!!!)
Someone please tell me I'm wrong!

I agree Eddy is an average guy, and that's certainly no crime...(not that I think us comparing his looks to other guys is that awful a thing to do... in that one particular photo he looks to need a good shower and some dental work...JMO, that's all.)
I'm quite sure he brought Chris a lot of happiness at one time, and he may possess many lovely qualities. However he also had his faults (as we all do, granted...) but since I cannot discuss those here, perhaps I am unfairly slamming his appearance instead. maybe I'll just hush up about it all now.
But how could you think our Chris was an 'A1 pain in the bum to live with' ?! Blasphemy!! :D

I have heard others describe Mr Quintela in a less than favourable way so perhaps there is something there (which you seem to confirm without actually saying so)
Yes blasphemy indeed - I am now going to find a hair shirt to wear as punishment! :)

OMG  ;) We just can't have that on this board. There definitely should be some kind of punishment.

Yes I agree - Oh Blasphemy, Blasphemy oh sweet Blasphemy
Maybe I should be forced to listen to that awful version of Songbird ten times over!
On a more serious note my point is that no one really knows why a marriage or a relationship breaks up. It always sad when it happens but it's very rarely completely one person's "fault". We can only speculate if we want but it's actually non of our business. To his and her credit neither of them has spoken about it publicly (to my knowledge). Some of us (not me) may know more about what happened and quite rightly respect Chris and Eddy's privacy and don't discuss it.
I'll get off my soap box now and shut up and do what I'm actually paid for and get some work done!

Yeah, that would do it, although having to listen to that version 10 times would be almost like torture, at least for me. :D

Yes. I think we all have a tendency (and I am including myself in that) to think that because we all like Christine the marriage break up must have been Eddy's fault and treat him as the devil incarnate.
My gut reaction when I first heard that they had split was to assume that he was a total arsehole!

Well, he would HAVE to be, right? It most certainly couldn't be our Chris' fault! :xoxo:

Maybe he just could not handle a talented and successful wife. Some men no matter who they are do have a problem with that.
