Well, mine are all in the USA because I have never been anywhere else yet.
1. New York City- So many things to see and do there. I love the energy of the city.
2. Boston, MA- Has a lot to offer too but has somehow been able to keep a bit of it's old world charm.
3. Philadelphia, PA- Proximity has a lot to do with this choice, too. Believe it or not it is cheaper for me to fly there then take the train to NYC. I haven't seen that much of it but I hope to next time.
4. Las Vegas- Love the desert. So many things to see and do and I don't even gamble.
5. Phoenix- The desert again!
6. New Orleans, LA- I have only spent a day and a half there and mostly on a Sunday evening so I did not see much of it. I did like what I did see except for passing by Bourbon St. on the airport shuttle. That's not my scene. The rest of the city seemed intriguing.
I won't name the cities that I do not care for, however.
Cities that I would like to see:
US:
San Francisco, CA
St. Louis, MO
Seattle, WA
Dallas, TX
Houston, TX
Albuquerque, NM
Minneapolis-St. Paul MN
Nashville, TN
I am sure that I am forgetting someplace.
I would love to visit just about anyplace in Europe! I guess that London, Paris and Rome would be my top 3 for now.

i'd definitely go with Amsterdam.
i've been there again 2 weeks ago, and let me tell you, if i had the money i'd go there at lesat twice a year, even while its freezing winter. other than the fact that i adore this city's outstanding beauty, i love its spirit of freedom, and of course the menus in the coffeeshops are more than pleasing.
honorary mentions go for NYC, London, Budapest (Hungary) and Haad Rin (Thailand).

Let me see, I've only been to four countries. There's barely even a whole city in New Zealand, .
..Lux!!! Haha...you know thats not quite true..theyr'e just SMALLER...
having said that...Whangarei in Northland (NZ) is a fav with me (nice and small..only 38,000 folks, last time I was there...)Nice marina, good shops, close to a couple of beaches and above all...nice and WARM :D (unlike here right now...snow)

I really enjoyed Phoenix when I was there last year. I'm going to explore more of that this June. Key West is loads of fun. But somewhat miserable, because when I went, it was over 100 degrees. Nashville is fun, very interesting city. There are people out on the streets playing guitar or fiddle for money. It's pretty alive at night. Chicago is spectacular.

in no particular order:
1) San Francisco (I love the fog there, and the air of mystery and adventure down by the wharf area)
2) Berkeley (once upon a time it was the hub of liberal activism, its now just a yuppie college town but I like it anyway)
3) Chico (Berkeley's little brother, its a college town that chews tobacco  but its also very pretty)
4) the town I live in now! Magalia, in the mountains, its like summercamp 24/7 which is the best! I love the fog, and the snow, and the sunny days too!
If I ever traveled out of CA, I think I'd like to canvass the British Isles from one end to the other.
- San Francisco (would love to go back one time)
- London (was wonderful at christmas)
- Amsterdam (great at any time)
- Groningen :D Seems like it's the odd one out in this list, certainly in size, but I love my hometown anyway.
Cities I would like to visit: hmm.. the main one I can think of now is New York. Well, Dublin too, Prague.

I've never been out of Europe so my choice is somewhat limited.
I would say my favourite city is Paris. Sitting in a sidewalk cafe watching the world go by. Bliss.
Honourable mentions to Marseille, London and Barcelona.

Amsterdam. The people were very cool to this American tourist. I was there in early June and the weather was beautiful...just sitting under the trees by the canal...drinking coffee... et al...;)
I have to say I loved London as well. I was there for six months and almost didn't come back. I swear at night you can just feel the history of the city as you walk around the streets. And again...WONDERFUL people.
My first weekend we (the American students) went to this club in Camdentown to see Wolfie...can't remember...ANYWAY some of the locals started talking me up and invited to take me around town with them. I dropped the Americans like a bad habit and spent the weekend with my new friends! They just opened up their homes to me and let me stay wherever I could find space! They also all belonged to motorcycle clubs, so I got to do a lot of cruising around on the back of a mortorcycle!
I'll also mention Edinburgh (sp?)...speaking of deeply historical! What a cool moody city!
Also all of the above cities have cool artistic legacies...

New Zealand, warm? Pft. It's only warm when your clothes start sticking to you and you drink 4 litres of water before you need to go to the bathroom, yet you leave a puddle of sweat everywhere you sit.
No actually Lux, thats bloody hot and sticky, as in north of Brisbane in the Summer ! (been there, done that)
I meant warm as in you know..20C plus and under 30..a nice temp :)

I live in the city....and rarely venture out to the suburban areas.

London (Magical and just amazing)
Eureka Springs, Arkansas (great mountain town, the rest of Arkansas, blech)
Gatlinburg, Tennessee (it's become very touristy, but it's a fun lil town in the mountains)
Galveston, Texas (it's got a fun vibe even if I'm not really a beach person)
Estes Park, Colorado (nestled in the Rocky Mountains, it's awesome)
Telluride, Colorado (another mountain town; in the fall, it's gorgeous)
Although, not a city, I adore Arizona. My family went through it back in 1998 and went to see the Grand Canyon. We also saw a really cool fountain and some ghost town (can't remember the cities). The giant seguaros are so freakin' cool! I love it and wanna go back to AZ soon.
Cities I don't care for:

Next time you're in Gatlinburg, you should give me a call. I only live 20 minutes from there. I would love to meet a fellow Ledgie! I agree with what you said above. Gatlinburg was better before it got all touristy! At least it isn't as touristy as Pigeon Forge! That is where Dollywood and all that stuff is. I don't really care for it at all. Unlike Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg still has its appeal---it is still fairly quaint, and the mountains/Smoky Mountain National Park, which it borders, is just beautiful. :D

Good to me too. All they have over there are Dutch and Asian restaurants so this would be an excellent diversion. I <3 Amsterdam. Dutch food is so boring, although they do have fabulous breads. Also, for breakfast they eat jam and croissants with cheese and bread, that was yummy. They could use a Tex Mex to mix it up!
I'm not into the coffee shop thing but I love that they are there. The open mindedness is great and I found the people to be nice. Most of them speak English. I was lost one day and asked a video store clerk for directions. I could not distinguish the street names she was saying cuz they are all "thisstracht" and "thatstracht" so the clerk drew me a map! That was so sweet.

Hell every freaking TV Show comes from New York or LA, but for me personally I do not like big cities, Toronto being the most crowded I've been to. San Antonia was another crowded city that just drove me crazy. The only big city I've been too that I just love is Dallas. I like Brian loved to hate Dallas (me mainly cause I hate the cowboys) but I went there a while ago and fell in love with Dallas. I love the big spinning ball thing.

I enjoyed Scottsdale when I was there a few years ago so I'd like to go back there. NYC is also an interesting place to visit. If I ever had the opportunity to travel in Europe I'd like to visit Italy.
The only thing I hate is the chowdah. How bloody disgusting.
Quimby's attorney: Mr. Quimby, did you assault Mr. Lacoste?
Freddy: Of course not. I love each and every living thing on God's green earth.
Quimby's attorney: Therefore, you certainly would never lose your temper over something as trivial as the pronunciation of "chowder".
Freddy: That's chowdah. Chowdah! I'll kill you! I'll kill all of you--especially those of you in the jury!

My dad and I went through there...ummm...back in 2002 I think it was. Can't remember exactly, but we'll go back for sure...I'll call ya!
Pigeon Forge, OMG, I hate that town. The traffic that day we drove through, a friggin' nightmare!!
Sigh...I love the mountains. I think it's quite obvious by now. LOL
I hate LA too....went there in 1998. Blergh.

It would be a shame if you came to Texas and didn't visit Austin. ;)

OMG, I love Toronto too. I first went there to see FM in 2003 and then went back for New Years later on that year. It is such a beautifully large and clean city and everybody was really friendly. I cant wait to go back there and the view from the CN tower is amazing.
New York is another amazing city that I am totally in love with. My husband and I went there for our honeymoon and it will always hold a special place in my heart. I have been there 4 times and cant wait to go back again. If it were up to me I would live there for sure. It would be a new experience every day.
I just got back from Las Vegas and I love that city too. It isnt that big but the strip is beautiful at night. I dont care about gambling too much but each hotel has something different to offer. My favs are The Venitian, Caesars, Alladin, MGM and The Palms. The Palms is cool because it is where all the young people go but the only bad thing is that all the chics are look like supermodels. I saw Jerome Bettis and Kordell Stewart there which I thought was pretty funny since I am from Pittsburgh and all.
The Bahamas was different from other places that I have been but the beach is sooo beautiful there and you cant help but fall in love with the place. Who doesnt like a resort where they bring the drinks to you while laying out. The Atlantis/Paradise Island is the place to stay.
I have also been to Cleveland, Niagara Falls, Grand Canyon in Arizona, Columbus, Nags Head NC, Myrtle Beach SC, Philadelphia, Ft Lauderdale and Miami.

I went there in the early 90s but I really did not get to see too much. :( Maybe someday I will get to go back.

Because it's SO clean! Canada is pristine, I swear.
No ****! Last time I was there, there was not one piece of garbage on the street, and not one bug!

I vacationed in Tampa and Miami for years. I had a set of grandparents in each city. I got real bored with it, and won't be taking a Florida vacation anytime soon. However, Tampa wasen't too bad. There's pleanty to do. Last time I was there, which was about 10 years ago, it was gettin' pretty shady, so my grandparents moved. I remember Wet and Wild waterpark, and Busch Gardens. It's been even longer since I've been to either one of those, and they were a blast.
However, there may be an Orlando vacation next year, as Sara will be 7, and that's about the right age for a week in Disney. ;)

Tampa was nice to visit but I don't want to live there even though the weather there is nicer at the moment then here in CT. St. Pete and Treasure Island were nice areas with awesome beaches and shops. I would love to go to Orlando next time I go to Florida.
