I can't stand them. Hated them on Survivor and I won't be watching their antics on The Amazing Race. I find it rather said that this show is employing stunt casting, it was the only good and respectable reality show out there.

I know, I was also surprised to see they had picked these survivor vets. I never watched that show so I don't know much about them except that Rob is from Boston and so everyone I know loves him. My roommate met him and said he was cool. I dunno. I'm sick of reality TV, the Bachelorette has killed it for me. Although The Amazing Race is much more interesting with all the competition and traveling, not to mention the bad behavior!

That one girl was on it from Big Brother the season before last. Her and her man were out within a few rounds. I think watching Romber would be good for the show. It will make me root for the other teams much more. :o

I've never been a big 'Survivor' fan, but Amber is from Beaver, PA., where I went to high school, and we have some mutual friends and other connections.... so it'll be interesting to see how her and Rob fare on 'AR.'
Just for the fun of it.

At the moment, I'm rooting for the straight boy best friends to last as long as possible... just for the eye-candy!
Hopefully they won't turn out to be jerks.

Kind of a boring season opener, eh? The entire first hour was just getting to Peru and finding the damn bus.

Our local paper described the mother/son team as "creepy yet entertaining, w/ an obsession over destroying Rob and Amber that's almost Shakespearean."

Lynn and Alex are hucking filarious!

I love Uchenna and Joyce (and they're from Texas - yay!) I've nicknamed the blondies "Paris and Nicole," for their hair and big sunglasses. And they're girly-girls....

I think I'm going to enjoy this season. The teams seem to all be very different, unlike last season, when I don't think I ever could tell the difference between Aaron and Hayden and Freddie and Kendra.

I do have to say, though, that a 2-hour premiere was NOT necessary. Waaaaay to long.

Just finally watched it and I thought it was good. There are a lot of teams that I like this season, especially Uchenna and Joyce. Poor guys. :( Meredith and Gretchen are cute and they seem to have what it takes.

Love the mother and son team and I love the best friends, can't wait for them to bitch out Amber and Rob tonight.

The gay guys are hella obnoxious. I want to slap them so hard that they suffer from amnesia next time they try to remember a Liza song.

I couldn't understand the guys from South Carolina. They had THICK accents.

From what I've heard, they do lose, so the point is moot. Their disgusting antics will be the death of them in that competition. The fact that they were even allowed to go on the show with such an incredibly unfair advantage is rather shocking to begin with. If the final four that's being paraded around by many different sources is correct, I'm INCREDIBLY happy. Great final four to watch.

I'm with you, Diss. It's kind of silly, but I'm rooting for literally every team except Romber. They're greedy and evil. Yeah, yeah, I know it's a game & it's every man for himself. And Rob definitely knows how to play the game. But I really don't think he's all that smart -he's just really good at being a dick. It's almost like he's sociopathic, no remorse whatsoever. F*ck them. I am worried that they have a real chance of winning this thing.

And I can't help but question his & Amber's relationship - I don't know how long they'll last if they aren't competing in something. I don't know if it's a desire to win thing, or if it's the fame or if they love the attention & TV exposure, but when it's all over, will they be able to sustain a real relationship? I doubt it.

If I had to pick my faves, I'd go with mom & son (she looks so sweet & innocent, but I think there's something underneath  And you're right - that kids has a mouth on him and I LOVE it!) I also like Uchenna (sp) & Joyce and Gretchen & Merideth (just cuz they're older & I give them tons of credit for doing this. Why does everyone hate Team Romber? I get it that no one seems to want them to win another Mil but you have to admit, Rob is playing a pretty good game. He does use his brain and has made some good moves..like taking the penalty, paying people to help him. He seems to be snarky but he also appears to know what he has to do to win. I find him highly entertaining. He adds drama and humour to the show..which I like. Lynn and Alex are cool too.

Deana? What a whiner. She is worse than Flo, if that is even possible. She complains, bitches, cries, complains , bitches, cries. Yikes. She would drive me up a wall if I was her partner.

I am not sad to see the rolling skating dorks go. Who drives two and a half hours out of their way without realizing it? The clue says "drive ONE HUNDRED miles to the mountains"...uh, ladies, when you have hit the hundred mile marker with no mountains in site, you are going the WRONG way! Oy.

Honestly, I really do not have a favorite team this time. I ADORED Kris and Jon last season and no one in particular strikes me fancy this time. I feel like I am sort of obligated to route for the POW..but he doesn't seem like he is going to be one of the stronger racers. His girl is sort of annoying too.

Ever heard the saying "It's not whether you win or lose, it's how you play the game"? I understand that you must do things to win, but Romber is lower than low. Stealing cabs, bribing bus drivers not to let the other teams leave the bus, using money from other teams to bribe and then laughing about it, using their Survivor fame to get help (that gives them a leg-up on all the other teams automatically), etc. They're infuriating and I can't wait for the night when they're Phil says "I'm sorry to tell you, but you've both been eliminated from the race."

Why waste two years?

Maybe that's why I don't date. I don't want it to end, but they eventually do and then I feel I wasted all that time.

The divorce rate is over 50% these days....it's sad. And they say homos can't deal with monogamy.

You don't date? Hmm. Well, I guess the theory when you start out is that it may not end. But, actually, it's not wasted if you had fun, is it? I mean, you get one person for awhile, you have a good time, then you're bored, then you find another neat person...yeah? But in the meantime, you got to have all that fun and sex.

Spending two days, two months, or two years with someone whose company you enjoy is nothing to shake a stick at. I'll take a short period of bliss over nothing any day of the week. But I'm having fun at the moment, so I'm not the best person to comment.

oh, yeah, i guess... i prefer the comfort and...intimacy? (I hate that word, it's so cheesy, but I can't think of another) of one person for longer, but, your way is good if it works for you! For me, I always feel like I'm sleeping with a stranger, so it's just not as fun and free.

Honestly, I like intimacy, too.....the whole feeling of having someone and knowing they are thinking about you and loving you. I'm not a ho by any means. I'm a one man, man....However, I don't just date anybody and it's hard here to find someone that doesn't sleep around. I put up a wall to block it all out and just go out with guys but never committ....I'm so afraid of getting my heart broken like before.

Wow....I need therapy. :o

I won't gush, but the man in my life is beyond special... and when you find a guy who's as right for you as you are for him, all thoughts of how many relationships don't go the distance, simply go out the window.

I actually don't mind them as much as I thought I would. I CANNOT WAIT to see the mother and son team get elminated. I know Curtis is with me on that one. They are obnoxious as all get out.

I would assume they'll pick the most dysfunctional and quirky families as humanly possible. Generally, you have to be 21 to apply to be on the show. I'm wondering if it will be the same way for the family version--all college aged and older kids?

I think families of four will be too hard to keep track of--that's a lot of people.

I agree Team Romber is snarky but they are hardly the first team to steal a cab. It happens every season. They are not the first team to bribe a cab/bus driver either. I have seen other teams also employ the help of locals, using the lure of the camera crew, to get them around strange cities. I don't see them doing anything worse than various other pairs. He is a snake but IMHO, that is how you have to play these type of games. You can't be all nice and sweet and honest and expect to win. (Kris and John lost, Freddy an Kendra won) The only way to play a game like this and be successful is to try and outwit the other teams. That will most likely involve lying, not being the nice guy etc. His tactics might not exactly be the most likable but he is taking risks and so far, they seem to be paying off.

My husband swears that CBS paid them to be on the show. He is entertaining and funny and probably did draw some Survivor fans over to watch the show. Anyone else think that is possible?

I think Gretchen's voice is sooo adorable. "Meredith, I am gonna be sick... slooowww downn". Too funny.

The Mother/son team are annoying. The mom is really out there and I was hoping they would be last. They couldn'tget out of the city for two hours. Ever think of asking for directions?

My friend from high school got me hooked on it. She got hooked on it from another chick in her yearbook class. Yep, I've seen FWWM and I used to get the magazine Wrapped in Plastic, but it became hard to find. My friend (the one who got me addicted. Rob and Amber are just coldhearted people. I could honestly care less whether they win or lose at this point because even if they win, dignity is not something that can be bought. I'm also very thrilled that the abusive guy is gone. I forgoet the names of them, but I prefer Rob and Amber to them by far. But yeah the old people and the brothers are my favorites. But the first pair of girls to go were my original favorites just for their freaking great looks.

I hated Ray and Deana, but at least they had the decency to stop and ask if everyone was alright from the accident. For two people who seemed so obsessed with winning, it said a lot about their character for them to stop and make sure everyone was okay. Rob and Amber? Have no character.

Gretchena nd Meredith and the brothers are my faves, too. I also love Uchenna and Joyce.

Surely you jest. Debbie and Bianca blew away those Barbie doll twits in the looks department.

Phil's bulge is great when he wears leather pants!!

Great episode(s), as usual! I'm totally rooting for Uchenna and Joyce, I do like the brothers and Lynn and Alex too...this is the best "old folks" team evah, in terms of staying in the race this long. Ya gotta love 'em!

Ray and Deana - what is wrong with her face? She looked like she had 2 black eyes and her right eye is like 4 inches below her left eye!?! Maybe she just looks weird like that from squinting and lack of sleep. Oh, and having to hang out with Ray 24/7! What a d*ck!

Romber, what were you thinking? NO ONE uses a FF when you're in first place! Dumb. Fortunately for them, they're still in 2nd place - and they can use the FF later if they need it. Not that I'm rooting for them, I'm just sayin'....

How nervewracking was the footrace?? I am so friggin glad the brothers beat out that twit and her abusive Amazon. There is no reason to disrespect Gretchen and Meredith like that when they are busting their ass just as hard, if not harder. Deana is a whining, sniveling child.
Team Romber were highly annoying last night, not stopping and asking if the brothers, etc were ok. The Cameraman looked pretty out of it, I know they said he was ok, but I still hope he wasnt hurt too badly. Scary.

Lynn and Alex are funny as hell! I also have much love for Ron, being that he sacrificed himself for that Godawful war. Not a big fan of his chick, but I do like him. Next week looks fun, with her calling him a "hillbilly Redneck".
So, I am ok with either one of them winning or Uchenna and Joyce. (I really do not think Meredith and Gretchen have a shot, unfortunately)

They only showed Romber get to Phil, then cut away to the "To Be Continued" title card. If they arrive to get the clue in the order they completed the task, it'll go:

Ron and Kelly (her nose reminds me of Steve Martin's in Roxanne)
Lynn and Alex

Meredith and Gretchen

Every time I think of Val Kilmer, I laugh.

There was an extremely cute guy at the local Circuit City that my best friend (or "fruitfly" for Amber), Anne, had the hots for. I kept telling her he was gay, but she refused to believe me.

After drooling over him for weeks, she finally got the nerve to talk to him and struck up a conversation about various films. At which time, Mr. E.C.G. proclaimed that annnny movie with Val Kilmer was a "must-see" in his book, and that both he and his roommate were the BIGGEST Kilmer fans.

She barely talked to me the whole ride home.

Tonight was alright, nothing special. Ron and Kelly are such dolts that I can't bear to watch them. Why didn't they yield Rob and Amber?

I KNOW! WTF were they thinking? Yield, YIELD you fools!!!

Ooookay. I was surprised that none of them tried to lug the bags of coal (I'm sure if the brothers were still in they would have done it. ) That tea thing was a pain the in ass.

I was a tad worried for Uchenna & Joyce being in India - there are many Indian students at our university & a lot of them (in my experience) are openly racist against black people. Not sure why. They seemed to do fine, though.

I think Gretchen had like a panic attack looking at all those boxes she had to open; she was just moaning and sighing and wandering about aimlessly. And why was almost everyone wearing long sleeved clothing in a thousand degree weather? They all looked like they were dropping dead! Okay, you're on the plane, you know you're going to India-- change into a tee shirt!! think ahead, people.

Also was I the only one who noticed the really hot local guy who was helping Gretchen and Meredith? yeah, he was fine. :D

CBS Will Air Wedding of 'Survivors'

1 hour, 21 minutes ago Television - AP

NEW YORK - They fell in love on TV, and their nuptials will be shown on TV.

A two-hour prime-time special on the wedding of Rob Mariano and Amber Brkich, who were cast members on CBS' "Survivor All-Stars," will air May 24 (9 p.m. ET), the network announced Tuesday.

"Rob and Amber Get Married" will document the planning, the bachelor and bachelorette parties, and the wedding ceremony, which was held Saturday in the Bahamas.

Mariano proposed to Brkich on the live finale of "Survivor All-Stars" in May 2004. Since she wore a shirt proclaiming, "I (heart) Rob," the answer wasn't in much doubt.

She beat Mariano by just one vote to win the reality show's $1 million prize, but told The Associated Press afterward: "We didn't even care who was going to win. We knew we both had each other for the rest of lives."

"Boston Rob" Mariano earlier appeared on "Survivor: Marquesas." Brkich was first a castaway on "Survivor: The Australian Outback." They are now contestants on the seventh season of CBS' "The Amazing Race."

And....
WOO-HOO, Uchenna & Joyce!!! I felt so bad for Joyce having to shave her head, but she has such striking features that she's just as gorgeous bald. I really hope they win!

How cool is it that Phil told Gretchen & Meredith that they are now officially the oldest team to have made it this far on 'AR'? :D

I'm sorry to see Lynn and Alex go... they were alot of fun, and seem to be a very sweet couple.

By the way, is anyone as P.O.'d as I am that they've been so stingy with the first-place prizes this season?! The girls won money the first leg, then the only other prizes awarded the rest of the season have been the three trips that Amber & Rob have won, and the vehicles that Ray & Deana won. That sucks.

Oh, and Lis... it looks like I was right about our handsome Indian friend afterall. ;)

I am so happy for M&G, I love them so much and they come through for me every week. I'd die from excitement if they won, honestly. And they have a shot at winning, too.

U&J get mad props from me. I'd love to see them win, also. Joyce is amazing and since she's so beautiful, she looked great without any hair, imo.

My crush on Phil grows deeper every week. Those wrinkles around his eyes are so hawt.

Balls meaning nerve. I thought it was incredibly insensitive and not only did it demean him, but it demeans all others who have been in his position. I think she's trying to make him snap and it's wrong. Even a few episodes back when she started screaming at him for speaking to her in a certain tone or some BS...she's crazy! Yeah, I really liked them. They were nice to each other for the whole race, never really bickered or got too irritable.

I so hate the POW and his nasty girlfriend, they need to disappear. And Rob and Amber are a good team but I still feel they have quite enough $ at this point!

Gretchen and Meredith do surpise me w/ how far they've gotten. Good for them.

I felt so bad for Joyce when she was getting her hair cut off. :( But on the upside I think all those braids were extensions...so after her hair grows in just a few inches she can get 'em all put back in again! And she did look really darn good w/ no hair. It was so sweet how Uchenna kept telling her she looked beautiful. Marty wouldn't be into a bald me at all LOL.

Couldn't help think that Rob would have held Amber down & shaved her head even if she was kicking & screaming & telling him no. They are evil & must be destroyed.

They proved as much when Gretchen climbed that wall and Meredith pulled that elephant with Gretchen in it. Definitely one of my favorite teams ever, right next to Charla and Mirna.

Romber must go down. Quickly. They aren't even racing, they're having others do it for them. That's what they've been doing all along and it stinks. The glee they derive from the misfortune of other teams is very disturbing, but I suppose the same can be said for the glee I have whenever Romber f*cks up.

My brother watched last night's episode with me, and had me cracking up the whole time... especially when he said, "Oh, great, the old guy's probably gonna drive that bus with his turn signal on the whole time."

What a pity they were eliminated when it should have been Rob & Amber or Ron & Kelly (is it just me, or is she the least attractive beauty queen of all time?).

They aren't even racing, they're having others do it for them. That's what they've been doing all along and it stinks.I've been complaining about that, too.
