Thought this might be fun...lol

Pic 1 - WTF...Ok I cannot say anymore. I will let someone else.

Pic 2 - Um ok..once again..I will let someone else comment on this one..for some strange reason I have the urge to watch the muppet show for a certain female character. As much as I LOVE Stevie..this pic is horrible to me.

Pic 3 - Chicklets anyone?

LOL

Wow. That first one is REALLY bad. The second one,.......well,..........I'm sure she's still embarassed by her "fat Elvis" period. She does look like Miss Piggy!

I think the one from the Inaguration is the worst of the three. But this one I found over at Nancy's site seems to fit right in  ....
<img src="http://tinypic.com/1y27h0">

Ok, three infractions from Ms. Nicks:
1. Old Black Dress, version 1.0
2. Bad hair.....It just doesn't look right on her
3. Lack of noticable make-up (She looks like she has a cold)

I love the teeth one! She looks adorable. I usually like the 1975 era photos anyway cause of her cute shag hairdo.

That last one? Oh. MY. Stevie looks much older than I have ever seen her and that was taken in 92 or so? Thirteen years later and I think she looks fifteen years younger than that photo. Those were bad years for Stevie. Poor thing.

maybe i'm the only one here that thinks this isn't such a bad pic. I think she actually looks pretty good - granted, as good as she could for the Street Angel period. I think she actually looks kinda classy here. I wish she would wear some more velvet pieces. Seems to fit her. And I like the hair WAY better than that flat, lifeless, clinging to the rounds of her face 'do' she had at the inauguration. It just brings out the weight in her even more. Hated it then. At least the tophat somehow distracted us it.

I think she's far from ugly and is a very good looking woman, but she does nothing for me, even back in the day. It has a lot to do with her demure presence, too, I don't find that very attractive and nowadays she's too matronly. I will admit to finding her absolutely gorgeous on Leather and Lace from the Bella Donna video, though.

These are all of Stevie in the lowest part of her life. I like the first pic (The OSOTM one). I bought that same pic off ebay a while ago. She looks very sad and...I dunno..."out of it", but she still looks very classy, and the setting looks eerie, with the red dress and the green. And the one where her teeth are yellow? That's from an interview from '91. It's actually a pretty cute little interview. The interviewer was a cheery blond girl (can't remember her name, I think it's Rhonda something) and she asks Stevie to show off her shoes, and the camera goes down and SURPRISE! Stevie has a mini skirt on! And then the interviewer asks "Do you like having big hair like Rhonda?!" It was so funny. It was from USA's "Up All Night". I have it saved somewhere....But she looks sick in the picture with the crimped hair. She probably came right outta rehab.

On a side note, if someone started a "Bad Lindsey Pics" thread we'd probably be coming up with all kinds of lovely little examples, probably many more than we could come up with of Stevie. But what would top them all is a "Bad Mick Pics" thread!

I have an idea. Why don't all of the people who piss and moan about Stevie's appearance at certain times take the worst photo of themsleves they can find, like when they've been in the hospital, or they're extremely hung over, or they've just found out that their spouse has been cheating on them and they've been up all night crying and post it for the entire world to see? Post it for the entire world to see.
Get a life people.

Why don't we all take the worst pictures we've ever taken--hmmm...let's say when we've had a cold, or have zits, or have gained a few pounds, or have chosen some god-awful outfit to wear, and put them on the net for all of us to make fun of?
What a blast that would be!

And, for every picture of Stevie you've messed with--I think there should now be an equal amount for EACH and every member of FM.

If you're going for the sport of it all, go for it. Some will say Stevie fans are touchy when Ms. Nicks is messed with? Let's see if everyone is less touchy when their favorite FM person is subject to ridicule for not looking fabulous 24 hours a day over the course of their entire lives.

stevie639.jpg (#2) is a great Rock a Little photo. I wish I had a whole photo album of photos from that point.

When it comes to ridicule, I believe in equal opportunity. :thumbsup:A thread like this obviously irritates some fans, who find it invasive & cruel.

Personally, I love talking about bad photos as well as good ones simply because I love talking about Fleetwood Mac. So I'm all for people posting photos of Stevie or Mick or whomever with excess fat or zits or droopy eyelids, or standing shining, resplendent in their glory on a stage somewhere.

What I'm about to say will be unpopular. But, whenever I see photos of Stevie from 1989 through 1993, when I hear songs like "Paper Doll" and "The Second Time," and when I see boots from the "Behind The Mask" tour, I remember why I was happy when it was announced that Stevie had quit Fleetwood Mac and Bekka Bramlett had joined. I will also say that I'm glad Stevie was able to get herself back together and become the Stevie we all knew and loved again by 1997!

I'm a proponent of "if you don't like it, don't look" but I'm also a proponent of "if you don't like it, go ahead and say so!!!" so it's all good. :woohoo: And hey, if people argue about what they like and don't like, that's fine, too.

well, I'm bloated and in need of coloring right now, so... Stevie is a gorgeous woman, but being as much photographed as she has been, and going through all that she has, of course there will be some bad photos. I mean, call me after you've been a constantly touring with two bands rock chick who has had a Cocaine addiction and enjoyed much brandy and pot. Then we can talk about who's ugleh. Oh, and who smoked for about 10 years.

I had a little birthday party for my friend Anne today, and some how or another, we all got to talking about celebrities without their makeup.

The ironic thing is that we see our friends and other folks on a daily basis with little-to-no makeup, and yet we rarely think anything of it.
But remove the makeup from a celebrity, or put them in a situation where the lighting is bad, and we're all APPALLED.

I've always felt Stevie was a naturally beautiful woman, even when she has little makeup on.
Certainly there are some "bad" pics of her (that one from the UK, where she's as white as a ghost and is wearing a black wig, being the least flattering of them all, IMO), but even when she's not all dolled-up or airbrushed on an album cover, she still has beautiful features.
Maybe not everyone's idea of "sexy," but beautiful nonetheless.

By the way, I agree with the suggestion that we should also have "Bad Pics" threads for Lindsey, Christine, etc.
We can say we're perfectly capable of laughing at all the members, equally, but without seriously backing it up it sounds about as believable as Fox News claiming that they're "fair and balanced." ;)

HEY - - who is that handsome guy  (Just when you thought it was safe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D - Actually, this is the pic I have on my fridge to remind me that my worst days of being porcine are over!!!!!!! )

In the end, I and everyone here knows La Nicks was heavier and she went through a very tough time. I just think deriving pleasure from kicking someone when they are down is rude. People here clearly do that and they also clearly like to make fun of her because they think it is funny to goad a reaction out of people who really like La Nicks. I think like Goldie said, no one wants to be judged by their worst moments  Furthermore, I am in no position to say for sure what people think or how they should act, I can only say how I feel and everyone else should play it the way they feel it

I have no problem with poking fun of pictures where any of the members of FM look odd--an odd expression, an odd outfit. Hell, with fashions changing as much as they have in the last 30 years, there are tons of those out there. You don't like the wigs or hairdos--that's fine. I'm not a fan of fried hair either.

I do have a problem with people acknowledging--on the first page of this thread--that some of Stevie's "bad" pictures were taken at one of the worst times in her life and then proceeding to make fun of the way the woman looked at that time. She went through rehab, was in massive pain every stinking day, had the guts to go out and try to perform after all of that, and then was completely humiliated by the press (and, I'm sure, a good portion of her fan base) because of her weight gain. All her years as a singer, songwriter and beautiful woman didn't seem to matter as much as her being heavy. That must have been real life-affirming. But, hey, Stevie--just think--some good came out of it because someone decades later can pull out a freaking picture and make a joke about snack cakes in your pocketbook and entertain everyone else.

You want to make fun of her dresses. Fine. Half of the time, I'll be there agreeing with you. It's just a dress. But these specific pictures are not funny to me because I have a feeling they are not at all funny to her.

Unlike non-showbiz folk, she doesn't have the luxury of tearing them up or hiding them. That's the price that is paid. But I think she deserves the respect of not having her FANS bring them out as a potential source of jokes.

There, I got that out of my system. Resume your frivolity.

I'm not laughing at any photos because of her weight gain. I think of that as a very sensitive subject and you'll never catch me ridiculing her for that in the least. I just think there were some bad outfits, bad hair days, bad expressions, and probably moments when she didn't realize anyone was taking a picture. I feel like I can laugh about those kinds of silly things, but not the weight gain.

There, I got that out of my system. Resume your frivolity.Hey now, why not be shallow at times? :woohoo: I come to The Ledge to relax and take a break from all the schoolwork I should be doing. I enjoy mindless stuff from time to time. But, honestly, I don't know if your post was directed at me at all but I hope that I'm not offending you or other Stevie fans. I like to look at Stevie as a normal person (I have to keep reminding myself that she is or I'll convince myself that she is indeed a goddess  ), but I don't want to take that too far. It's all in good fun to me. I spend much more of my time gawking at the pictures of her I love (and there are more that I love than dislike, I must say).

Anyway, I also wanted to say, about Kate's pictures...I love all the ones you love and all of the ones you hate except the one with the huge cross and earrings that are tacky IMHO. I still like her hair brown in some pics, though. I'm a big fan of the other one you posted with the brown hair. And, by the way, your Master Shake banner rocks!

Also, Ryan, your new banner rocks, too.

Brian--I totally love the first Stevie pic you posted, with the red jacket and red lipstick. She's gorgeous there.

HOT for a woman half her ageI couldn't agree more! Good pics there!

Quite true. The pic posted of Lindsey as a child was adorable. So he had buck (and unevenly spaced) teeth, big deal. He was still a cute skinny little boy.

And even though I did introduce myself as being a fan of Lindsey's music only and not thinking much about his looks, I admit with all the pics I've been seeing of him he is somewhat hot/gorgeous/really sexy. But I try not to focus on the older ones because that is quite an age difference and I feel a little uncomfortable.

But anyway, I'm all for a "Bad Lindsey Pics" thread and if I actually found a bunch I'd start it.

So when they're dressed-down, it seems somehow shocking. Whereas the guys usually seem a little more "wash-n-go" and casual.

Of course, there are bad pics of male celebrities, too... mug shots of Paul Reubens and Nick Nolte come to mind!

Ah but there's the misunderstanding. 'Overly devoted' is a term appropriately used to describe a level of devotion to Stevie whereas in the case of Lindsey, it's simply 'adequately devoted'. Shucks. If only the real life people (as my mother refers to them) thought so favourably then I wouldn't be so inclined towards pyromaniacal, homocidal or otherwise violent tendencies. I am flattered and grateful that my 22 years of existence have resulted in some positive feedback.....except for the bit about being arrogant. So what happens now? The man has an uncanny ability to look adorable and look like sh*t all at the same time. However, I don't like the majority of his Tusk era photos. He seems way too thin, unhealthy thin. In some photos you can count every rib, and it's disturbing. :(

On a side note: I agree with the Ledgies who have voiced disapproval at the ridicule of Stevie's weight, comparing her to Miss Piggy, saying she looks bloated, etc. As much as I find this sort of thread amusing (and not because its focus is Stevie) body size is something I would never make fun of. I don't think its right. Bad hair? Sure. Bad outfit? Absolutely. Weird expression? Fair game. Weight gain? No way.

The difference between Stevie and the rest of us (including other members of Fleetwood Mac) is that she partially built her career on being a glamorous woman. If anything, posts like this make her more of a human that we can all relate to on some level. I mean, that even the "Queen of Rock" has had a bad hair decade and still came out ahead should good news for the rest of us. Elvis certainly didn't have that advantage.

I don't have a problem with constructive criticism but even as a glamorous pulbic figure she deserves a little better than to be constantly ragged on for her appearance-especially by those who love her. I just felt it was in poor taste and starting to become the norm rather than the exception. This is not a subject I have said very much about. And since the thread is specifically about Stevie, it is in the wrong forum.

I still don't see why the fact that a star had a bad day (or decade) with her/ his hair (or dress, or make-up, etc), can become so important. We all are what we eat, them too, no?

But, that's the flip side of the coin. People oogled over Stevie for years because of her beauty. But, when she wasn't looking so pretty, people started to rip on her. Whenever people are built up, as she was, the public enjoys taring them down. It's just a sad fact of life.

It has to also be said that most people admire Stevie for having gotten through that period. To ignore how she was, and to not laugh at it on some level, is really to not appreciate how far she has come from those days. Really, how can we admire a comeback without looking at how bad the situation was?

As for this thread, I think most people are looking through these pics and laughing the same way people go through a year book and laugh at how awkward they were back in the day.
