kind of funny article on the bbc news site, doesn't actually mention our Lindsey, but it's about growing up as a boy with a girl's name.

Bedankt, maar in amerika schijnt het een vrij veel voorkomende jongensnaam te zijn of ben ik mis ?

Well that's just cute. However didn't Lindsey grow up with a boy's name? I thought it more recently became a girl's name, as with the name 'Courtney'. Hmmm, it does make you hum.

Indeed... or like Chris, also a boy/girl name.

I've never met a male Lindsey/ay before. However, I know it can be spelled either way for either gender. I've met girls named Lindsey and Lindsay, and Walter Egan's middle name is Lindsay with an A.

Rolling my eyes back at you, mierenscrewer. Considering it related to the topic of Lindsey being a girl's name (or atleast the same pronounciation as one), I thought it relevant to note that our Lindsey in question wasn't born 10 years ago. The first time I met a female Lindsay, I thought she had a boys name.

*poking tongue out at you until it dries and tastes weird*

Allright, you've got a point... *shrugs shoulders into a cramp*

Yes, Lindsey Graham. He is a Senator from S. Carolina I believe.

and our Lindsey had curls too..I bet he did have a hard time in Middle School...he had a sport he was really good at though so that would have helped.

There is a student in my aftercare bunch at the Middle School where I tutor called Dylan-I feel so badly for him-he's small, has curly black hair and if you didn't know you'd think maybe he was a girl..Middle Schoolers are not known for tact or kindness..

Nice article - I was in third grade with a boy named Courtney and I remember thinking it strange - but he was a quiet lad and I don't recall anyone making fun of him.

I once had a theory, though, that males with "female names" were jerks....mostly because I had an evil EVIL band director named Leslie and I loathed him....but I've since met a couple of "female named" men who are quite lovely :D

I've heard of a good few guys called Lindsey, besides Mr. Buckingham.

Would it be too much to hope she ends up starring in a film called "A Lesson"? :)

I knew a guy named Kim.....we all thot it was weird but he was a nice guy and a great football player....maybe its like that song "a boy named sue" where the kid grows up to be tough from all the fights he gets in about his name...

Courtney has been around as a girl's name for a while (as it's my name and I'm getting quite old!) but there has been a rather large crop of young girls with that name recently...I worked as a pharmacy technician for five years and saw lots of females with the name Lindsey (spelled with an "e" and "a"), but hardly any Courtneys (male or female) other than myself.
