Did anyone see this:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6998205/

That is really creepy, IMO.

The fact that the second head blinked and smiled is like something out of a horror movie *shudders*.

the link took too long to load for me so I will have to read it later, but I betcha it was supposed to be twins and one absorbed the other. I wonder if the one that survives will still "feel" or remember the other one? hmmmm creepy all right...

Ya - I kinda lost my appetite for dinner after seeing this story.

Not every day that you see something like this . . . and thank goodness for that!

Well, the good thing (if there is one  ) is the second head apparently was not a life, but an appendage controlled by the one being. So, when they removed it, they were not killing a life in being. I, once again, am just thankful that medical science has advanced (by whatever means) to the point where this life could be saved and that this infant now has a chance for a relatively normal life. I call this another miracle, medical or otherwise

Wow. I can't even go and look at the picture after reading folks' reactions. I'm so sensitive I'll be messed for a while so I can't do it. I can't imagine what this poor child's life would have been like had he been born before we had this technology.

So it blinked and smiled but they killed it?

well, it would've been hard to do a full body transplant...

I also was not really doing that on its own. It was sort of like that woman in Florida that blinks and smiles, but is not aware of anything she is doing. I think the whole thing is just so sad :(

It is. The poor parents, what an awful thing to have to deal with. Except that the good thing is they have a presumably healthy child.

other than this documentary about neurofibromatosis that was on the bbc, this is definetly the most disgusting thing i've seen all week.

The wingers need to figure out which side of the argument they are on with this. I was being rather sarcastic. Sorry, I should have used an emoticon.

Firstly, that photo is really creepy. Between that and the supposed cola douche I read about in that book (see other thread) I'm gonna be having nightmares for weeks.

On another note, I certainly hope that child wasn't born naturally. Can you imagine trying to push that out?

I guess the rest of it was too overwhelming that I hadn't even considered how the baby was born. That's just as horrifying.

It's not just horrifying, it's actual fodder for a horror movie. member on south park they had "conjoined twins" syndrome, and it looked just like that pic? *shudder* . Man, I thought it looked gross on a cartoon, but in real life? Nothankyouma'am!

Yikes  That is so sad :distress: But as Jason said I'm glad that medical science has advanced to the point it has so that hopefully the little girl can have a normal life.

That? Scared the crap out of me. I feel terrible for the child & family, and thankful they're getting help. But Oh My GOD!
