My friend Pip (Gypsy-Rhiannon) just let me know about the IAMS thread which was on here a while ago. I had no idea about the controversy surrounding the research and manufacture of this pet food, which I have been using for years, but now will stop doing.

What I'd like to know is which brands do people recommend as alternatives to the IAMS food?

Wysong
Natures Recipe

There are a host of others but I cant think of them right now. If I come across the literature I have I will post more. Remember to try and get pet food without by-products

I use Nutro Max. Many people at the dog shows I attend use Nutro Max as well.

I used to use Wysong. I still like it. It is just more convenient from me to use Nutro Max.

Still did not find the literature however another tidbit...do not buy products from PETCO or Petland Discounts. Try and use a mom and pop place.

Would love to except that Petco put all the "mom and pop" places out of business in my area.

I use petfooddirect.com and get Wellness brand for my cat. They have everything there. When I realized what was in commercial cat food I was disgusted. After a few weeks of the new food his coat became so shiny it glistened. He looks so healthy. :) Ahh, only the best for my Mufasa. :laugh:
