I've been trying to decide for the longest time which era Liddy I like the best, appearence wise....I LOVE THEM ALL!!! but recently, while watching the Countdown video, I decided....I like OOTC Lindsey the best, I guess because hes skinny again, and he got rid of his insane 80's hair. Also I like the slight maturity of his face. Anyhoot here are some pics of him:

Favorite era Lindsey... well that one's a toss-up.
I adore his 'fro days. That big curly mane, yeah baby!
But I also really like his look in The Dance. He seemed a bit fleshier, not as gaunt, as in OOTC and hadn't yet started to really go gray (not that he isn't still amazingly sexy now).
One era that I don't like though was Tusk. He was skin and bones and it just didn't look healthy. Would rather have him with a bit of pudge like he had in the Mirage era than looking like a heroin addict. He also had an androgynous look during Tusk that does not appeal to me.

Being a guy, I dont tend to worry too much about his looks, but I actually kinda liked his weird, "Go Insane" era image. The hair is too tall, and his cloths are funky. I like weird schitt like that. Rumours era was cool. He looked good with long hair, and the beard was cool...

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to argue with you about Lindsey's sexiness. That's something I would NEVER do. However, he seemed much more "puffy" to me in his Mirage days than he ever did at any other time. He seemed to be at a good weight and just lookin' damn good all around during the Dance. But then again, it was during the Dance that I fell in love with him, so I'm a bit biased.
Not that I could have fallen in love with him during Mirage... I was only a baby at the time.

I know this is an old thread, but what the heck. I'm going with Out of the Cradle and Tusk tied for my favorite era appearance-wise. I would place the Say You Will era as a very close second. I think I've loved all the eras, though, but my least fave look-wise is always Mirage because I'm reminded of that live concert and how ridiculous he looked in the hat and those unforgivable pants. But I'm sure there's someone out there who loves that look, so no disrespect meant. ;)

Yeah, I didn't mind the Mirage look. I never thought about it before, but "Zombie" always describes his hat as being tiny and once she said it, I giggled, even though it never occurred to me that his hat was too small for his head before.
It's a fine look though, with a little bit of stubble. Hmmmm. I have no complaints. The only thing I would say about the Hold Me video is that he looks like he can't see and is constantly straining his eyes. Put on some glasses, man! But I guess that just plays into the impotent theme of the video. Not seeing, not completing, not connecting.
I'd have to say the look for the Tango videos is #1 for me though.
Dance look is my least favorite, although he began to look better as the tour wore on and was pretty cute at the RRHOF.

Playing wise? I dont think I could zone in on just one era to be honest. Far too difficult. :shrug:
Gun to my head it'd have to be Mirage tour and the Dance. He was just untouchable during the Dance. I couldn't believe what I was seeing when I first watched it..:shocked:
Looks wise? (oh goody..:D) TUSK! Has to be Tusk. How he looked on the Tusk Documentary vids? Mmmmm, more please! :nod: Although, I can't ever think of a time when Linds looked bad. I was even watching his Soundstage the other day and I gotta say, its looking like the guy will never lose it. :thumbsup:
And let the record show that I loved the Mirage hat.

I never even noticed the squinting...does he have eye problems because on the Live in Boston dvd he does quite a bit of that during Say Goodbye and others. Or perhaps he's holding back tears. But sometimes, to me, Lindsey can take on the look of two entirely different people. Like him on the Dance looks nothing like him at any point during the Say You Will period. To me anyway. :)

I imagine he is blind as a bat, but probably always has his contacts in. I remember Javier mentioned that Lindsey wore glasses in the old days, but never performed with them on.

They all look pretty tasty for that Mirage cover. I noticed on the new FM website that they had those photos and I was disappointed that they were separated into front cover and back cover. I wanted one long banner with all 5 members on it, because I think Mr. Fleetwood and Mr. McVie were looking mighty fine too. There are just some photos of the band where this collective, smouldering aura comes through. It doesn't happen all the time with them, but in that particular picture, yeah. Sometimes you sense a group attitude and cockiness that is intoxicating.
Stevie once said that when the 5 of them are together it's like being in a movie and I sense that sometimes.

I guess I understand something of the Mirage love. I was about 2 or something during that time period, so I should probably be more appreciative of that strange get-up and the eye makeup. But sadly, I pretty much try to ignore it. :) But the performances were always great.
Out of the Cradle is just...a gorgeous time for him. I think he was investing in some really great hair gel. And being consistent with it. Not that the curls ever bothered me, but he looked so debonair and matinée idol like. I have deep love for it. And the Countdown vid is probably my FAVORITE:

If I had never been a fan of his -- If I'd never been a fan of Fleetwood Mac --he would have won me over completely from scratch with the GOS tour.
I would have fallen then, for the first time, having never been there before.

The 'Tusk' era gets my vote. Man, he was sexy then. I am fond of the slightly androgynous look, so the waif-in-guyliner thing doesn't bother me at all. He looked great during the 'Out Of The Cradle' period too. I still think the 'Out Of The Cradle' album cover is not only the best photo of Lindsey ever taken but it's also the most striking of any Fleetwood Mac related LP.

I think the Go Insane look is the best (as you can probably see from my avatar/signature). My second fave, probably Out of the Cradle era. The look now is fine. He seems to be happy with it. Wish he still had darker hair, though. It suits him.

It's interesting to note about Tusk Lindsey...in CAH's book (which we all know must be taken with with a grain of salt), she mentions how Lindsey was apparently unaware of his own beauty until he shaved the beard off and had that new hairstyle. I'm pretty sure the scene is where he needed to get dressed for some photoshoot, didn't have any clothes to wear, CAH decided to take him shopping at some high-end men's suit shop and he was trying on all the stuff and realized he was kind of hot. :lol: (uh, duh!!!)
So then we know from that point on all those different hairstyles were just Lindsey messing with his vanity. And honestly, he was (is) a gorgeous man so it's good he finally saw the light- though, given his style of the past decade or so, I guess he's on a slight image recession. But at least he hit some high peaks along the way. :nod:

I know, I know, this is an old thread, but I've been bored home alone (job market's been icky and I can't get anything, not even a non-paying internship) and I thought I'd give some reasons for my fave looks while I was at it. And yes, for once, this is a list that's actually in order.
White Album/Rumours era (the fro and beard looked awesome on him, gave him a very cool "rock and roll" appearance)
Tusk era (probably my favorite post-haircut era and man, did he looks fine in those suits)
Tango in the Night era (everyone in the band looked fantastic then, and he was no exceptio with the glamorous look he rocked well)
Say You Will era (probably my favorite "mature" era, mostly cause he looked just great in that white shirt, not to mention that he's just a hot old guy)
Out of the Cradle era (he seemed to have grown up a bit facially, and yet, he still maintained some great looks. For more, check out Go Insane from that 1992 show on YouTube)
That may be just a top 5, but in the end, you can't be fussy and you gotta admit that this guy has looked great over all periods. I love those dark curls (that still look great despite the receding hairline and graying) and blue eyes that seem to make such a great combo on him.

Any era from tusk onwards - I was not a fan of the 'fro or the beard - I dont find early lindsey hot at all.
so I guess tusk through to say you will - He looks good now but I think His stage presence and enthusiasm definitely adds to the looks - the old story of if someone is good at something they are instantly better looking!

Things aren't looking good at all. Got no calls so far, an Italian supermarket chain (it's called Uncle Giuseppe's) by me is opening a new store later this month, and never called me back. Oh well, at least I'm doing other stuff.
In the meantime, how do you think he'd look now with a goatee?

Yeah, I don't mind the gray at all. I do like his hair a little longer though...kinda crazy like SYW or UTS era ( my favorite eras! ).

Yeah, the devilish one, it's definitely compelling...
As for that first one, I made a CD of just Lindsey's songs from Tusk and Tango, and that's on the cover :D

No, the Tango/Tusk CD has all the original recordings. I burned a different one with lots of live stuff. Big Love is the opening track on that one. Originally, I used the LIB version, but, I've come to like the Soundstage version even more...he kicks serious ass on that one...ridiculously fast!

The video is well worth it - and available on Amazon. I've said this before, but personally, I like it way better thn the Bass Hall video. Oh, you have to get it!! :blob2:

I gotta dig up my DVD of it and watch it again. I still remember getting the soundtrack to it and thinking she was saying "Just like a one-winged dove" on Edge of Seventeen (I still do in fact lol) and not having the foggiest clue as to who she was.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to argue with you about Lindsey's sexiness. That's something I would NEVER do. However, he seemed much more "puffy" to me in his Mirage days than he ever did at any other time. He seemed to be at a good weight and just lookin' damn good all around during the Dance. But then again, it was during the Dance that I fell in love with him, so I'm a bit biased.
Not that I could have fallen in love with him during Mirage... I was only a baby at the time.
Speaking of babies...Lindsey's girlfriend was so adorable in the Dance Video as she just loved him up with her eyes!!! This made us girls happy for Linds who we always thought was just used by Stevie and Mick!!! Like, go ahead Mick...have another affair with Stevie...for you see... Though they photograph terribly together ( I think 'cause she's sooooo shy ), but in the documentary that came with the Bass Hall video, and on those music videos, I think they really do look like they're in love - and like they'r actually very comfortable together.
