not sure if any1 noticed but during all the elections i never posted in those threads, really 4 fear of ridicule, some of it got pretty mean  ~ cuz i always have believed 2 ea their own, every1 has the right 2 their opinion, yada yada :D ~ but anyways i am an independant who has always voted democratic~ i follow all the election stuff as closely as u all have~ so i thought i would just post this~ as some of u know i run a small home daycare, & i live near 1 of the most larger airforce bases we have~ we were 1 of the stops 4 bush on 9-11, offutt afb~ i live within a mile of the base & on 9-11 airforce one flew so close over my home, u woulda thought u coulda reach out & touched the plane~ was a chilling site~ anyways...due 2 me watching 99% military kids, i am luckily kept up on things~ i was told last week bush would b here 4 a speech fri, tho he flies in on thurs~ i just thought it a little odd, yes my state voted 4 him, tho it was real close w/ the democratic vote, i 4 1 didn't vote 4 him~ but he came during the election to council bluffs, iowa, which is right by where i live (omaha, nebraska), they r our sister city, we r seperated by a bridge over the missouri river~ it ended up being real nasty~ he held his speech @ their local auditorium, they sold tickets, like it was a concert, lol    ~ but the controversy lies in...now this was on the news, some bush's "people", were standing outside, & if people who blatently showed that they were democrats, (bumperstickers, buttons, t-shirts & such),they were like shaken down treated like **** basically & their were over like 800 complaints of bush's "people", actually cornering citizens & taking their tix away saying that they couldn't come it, & these were decent people, not 1's u would think would b heckler's, trouble & such, just regular everyday people, it was a real big story here, democrats were freaking saying, "this was b4 the election, don't u think bush would want some of the democrats 2 come hear what he has 2 say, so mayb he can sway, their vote?"~ it was like bush had people outside making sure this was VERY UNFAIRLY 95% repulican~ well now he is stopping in omaha @ our new qwest center (OT: fm's "say you will" broke in the auditorium w/ the 1st show, lol) & it is happening all over, dem's r being turned away~ this is awful, it is sad & madening~ y would he do that, i mean he should have the kahonies 2 let EVERY1 in, land of the free right?!?!?~ if i didn't have a house full of kids that day i would love 2 go down & c what transpires  ~ i i am not even sure y the hell he is coming here, it was like outa the blue~ i think he sux!!! :sorry:  ~

I agree you would not have been ridiculed. I am about the only conservative here, and I'm ridiculed (even when were not discussing politics). So, you shouldh have spoken up, you would have had LOTS of support.

If you backed any of your arguments up with facts, then perhaps people would take you more seriously. Just a suggestion and a kind one at that.

That would also include providing links to accompany the articles you're posting. :)

Well first of all, I don't present many "arguments" here. And when I do, I do back them with common sense and facts. But they are either A) ignored or B) made out to be jokes and just simply replied with "that's not true."

Well boy with educated responses like that...how can you back ANYTHING up.

I don't see any of you backing anything you say with something that even looks like a fact.

So please stop with the whole "if you'd back your arguments up with facts..." Boy it gets OLD!

it helps to see who your sources are. Most all of us post links or copy/paste the articles so that other readers can evaluate the source, and therefore the credibility. sources with known bias (Fox news, Sean Hannity et al) have an obvious axe to grind. much better to get your news from a neutral source such as census bureau, or the like if possible....
