I signed that in memory of a member of my Oct96 moms group who just died two days ago of breast cancer. Mindy had 1 grown daughter and 2 young daughters, and a husband who loved her. She wanted to be around to see her 8 yr old twins grow up and she fought that cancer until the very end with such a positive attitude and strength. I'm so sad that she lost that battle, and I'm so sad that two little girls now have no mother.
So anyway, this was signed in memory of Mindy Benson.

 Im sorry to hear about Mindy, and I sincerely hope a cure is found in my lifetime. Women's health in general is not given as much attention as men's health, and this needs to change. We need more female focus groups, more studies done with female participants and health care professionals need to be more responsive to female issues and not dismiss women's concerns out of hand with cliche diagnoses or putdowns...

I signed, and thank you. I have to say, I made an oath when I was 9-10  that i would only give money to environmental/animal/children's charities. But I absolutely cannot stand iniquities between male/female medical care - or really anything that is unfair. And also, knowing and hearing stories from personal friends (such as those who posted here - Brian, I'm so glad Deb is ok) has opened my heart to humans. :p Which is a good thing. Thanks for posting!
And don't forget, next time I go to Chico, you have to have drinks w/me! (and pick up young boys, of course! )

Signed, in memory of my Grandma. She had it twice. Fought it off once, and died with it the second time. I've had 2 scares myself... both turned out benign.
