Ok, Just thought that I would post a few pics that I took in the summer. Maybe it will make some of us who are now freezing feel a bit warmer.

Hey - Queen Mary? she's my friend.
I'd love for her to be my friend  I love the picture of the flower (it's a wallpaper waiting to happen) and the pink/purple sky in the picture before that. It looks like a really nice place in the summer. That's the only state we haven't visited on the East coast yet

Those are beautiful, Pattie. Kinda looks like here, though, so it made me think of going to the beach in the summer....
And having it be freezing cold!!!!

I was in Providence last year some time. My husband goes there a lot for college basketball and football. But we're going to Newport in September for my brother's wedding. I forget where exactly they're having it, but I know it's going to be nice. His fiance comes from money, so I know they'll do it right. I'm really looking forward to seeing Newport.

Wow. I haven't seen the Newport Bridge in a looong time. I used to love to drive over that thing.
That's a great photo of the Queen Mary 2. Everybody's out in their boats. Looks like good times.
I miss the water. :)

Not to interrupt, but just curious - doesn't where you live have great rivers? Can you swim in them, or are they too cold? :wavey:

Great rivers. I've rafted a few...in a wet suit. They are cold.
Pattie's photos are from the place I was born and grew up and lived until I was 17.
I haven't been there since 1990.
Aside from a few really beautiful resevoirs, we are pretty landlocked. I miss the water. :(

Oh! You grew up there! niiiiiice. It really does look beautiful, but reminds me of here - I have to keep thinking "no, the Atlantic is warm! "
I don't love rafting, in fact, have never been despite growing up in a "great convergence of rivers" town. (American River, Cosumnes River, Sacramento River) That's too bad your rivers are cold, I just love to swim in, and be in, the water. I feel your pain, though, can't swim in the ocean here, that's for sure! well, maybe for a few minutes.
thanks! was considering Colorado as a "place i'd want to live" :p

Well, CO has the nice mountains which we don't have over here. I think that if I do ever end up moving out of RI, I would still miss it a lot.

Whitewater rafting is a ball. You should try it. I think you would love it.
