I don't understand why people say that Christine is out of FM. Sure, she didn't tour for say you will and you can hear her only on a few songs and she is listed as a guest, but I've read reviews of syw saying that they miss Christine, and some of the reviewers didn't seem to know that she played on it.

And last year she said something like "There isn't a day that I don't think about Fleetwood Mac", right ?

So, we might see her return for a new album...

As much as I am a LB fan, I would love to see her playing with the band again.

I agree 100%. I love Christine and the Rumours lineup is magical, superb, wonderful, the top!

But.. Chris seems to be retired. Yes she recorded an album but didn't tour, she doesn't want to leave England. She doesn't want to tour nor spend months in America recording a new mac album. I see she wants a quiet life. So it seems to me that she is not in the band.

She was not fired, I think she would be more than welcome if Fleetwood Mac record a new album and Chris wants to be involved but... I don't see it happening either.

I think we'll see full participation from Christine on a new Mac studio album, the day the band finally decides to quit touring.

It's obvious she loves her quiet life at home in England (and she's earned the luxury to stay home), but it's also obvious from the release of 'In The Meantime,' that she still has the desire to write and record.
The touring with Fleetwood Mac seems to be the big deal-breaker.

Remove touring from the equation, and I bet Christine would be there.

I love the Buckingham & Nicks-lead 'Say You Will,' and I'm interested in hearing what more those two could do if they collaborated from the ground up on another album... but I'd also love to see Christine return. Even if it's for one final studio album with the Mac.

I would agree with that, EXCEPT I don't think she'd be willing to spend any significant amount of time away from her family, dogs & home. She spent about a week or so in New York doing a little promotion for In The Meantime & she sounded as if she was already looking forward to getting back home again. I HOPE she records again because I think making In The Meantime was a lot of fun for her(and for me too listening to it). This also assumes that there will be another Fleetwood Mac album. Nothing is ever guaranteed.

I am in denial about Christine leaving.

Anyway is it technically possible for her to leave? Isn't that like divorcing your own family?

Actually I don't think she will ever record a whole album with them again. Maybe one song and some harmonies. I'm sure Lindsey would like to spend a few weeks in the English countryside which is all it would take.

We just need a coalition of the willing.

But they could tour without Chris.
I think there are 2 reasons. the tour and being in England. She doesn't want to stay in the States for long time.

So, what about recording in England? I think she doesn't want to force the 4 members to move to England for weeks or months, to record. But if they agree, why not? Now, it would be hard for those who have small children, but everything is possible.

And if everybody agree to record in England, and then touring without Chris, we could get finally a wonderful album.

But, Chris has always had the most hits. Poppy, radio friendly hits. How could you go on tour(assuming she has a hit from the new album), and not play your newest hit?
I think the only way would/will be when their touring days are over....

Yea I know...she REALLY wanted to retire in the late 1960's and just be a housewife...but they got her to join the Mac (THANK GOD!). And then I remember her saying once, while making Tusk she wanted to stop touring in a few years....lol....and almost 20 years later she was still touring.

So, I agree she has done more than anyone expected! But If she ever wants to just come back and record with the Mac and skip out on touring...that would be fine with me ;)

I'm going to risk the wrath of other ledgies here and say that I was less than heartbroken when I learned that Christine had left the band (and indeed she HAS left the band which she has stated herself). Her leaving allowed the dynamic and musical focus of the band to change, for the better if you ask me. Their music is harder, faster, more rocking: Much more guitar and bass driven than piano driven, with less focus on vocal harmonies and more focus on the individual singers.
Most importantly for me, it has allowed Lindsey to not only take a larger share of the album space, but to use songs that might not have worked in the old situation. Had there been a stronger feminine influence in the band, I just don't think that a song such as "Come" or even "Murrow" would have made the cut. As it was Stevie tried to keep "Come" off the album and off the tour.
As much as I like most of Christine's work and the work that Fleetwood Mac has done with her, I think that the songs that make up Say You Will are some of the best that Lindsey and Stevie have produced - as part of FM or solo - in a very long time.

To be honest, I've never cared for most of Lindsey's work. I only like a handful of tracks on Say You Will, and they're mostly Stevie's.

Yeah, ALOT less of what made them BIG F*cking stars.
Hmm, how much did SYW sell? I thought so......Had there been a stronger feminine influence in the band, I just don't think that a song such as "Come" or even "Murrow" would have made the cut.

Wrong forum? Forgive me if I don't see the point in preaching to the choir.

As for how much SYW sold and what made them "BIG F*cking stars" that has absolutely nothing to do with the point I was making. Christine is very talented and has a knack for writing radio-friendly pop songs. This fact is undeniable.
However, I'm not interested in how many records a band sells nor am I interested in radio-friendly pop songs. I have always favored a harder, more edgy style. Therefore, the change in the band's dynamic was a positive thing for me. I was simply stating how I feel about Christine's departure and did my best to give support to my opinion.

As for most of the people on this forum hating "Come" and "Murrow" I guess there really is no accounting for taste.

Ah! I may feel the same, but usually refrain from saying so in the Christine forum. I respect the lady, her contributions, etc. And, I think some of her songs are brill. She's not my fav, but when i watch those tapes of old performances, I really miss her on such songs as Rhiannon, and SOTM...and, i'm sure, many others. She has a quiet brilliance, IMO. And if you're not a super christine fan, like me, you should still be able to note that her contributions, while subtle, are inimitable and veeeeeery valuable. Her harmonies and keyboard, singing with Stevie and Lindsey, no less, are cause for awards and kudos. In that way that no one ever gives props to the backround singers, and the backround band, but really, they make the songs just as much as the main players.
IMO.

I think Homer spoke very well for the rest of us here. :) In my opinion, SYW consisted of 2 solo albums thrown together for marketing purposes. It's gone & forgotten as far as I'm concerned. And, Christine was NOT a back up singer in Fleetwood Mac and Chris, Mick & John were NOT the back up band. The Rumours line-up was made up of 5 equal parts which added up to a wonderful, magical whole.

Well said Macfan!

The Rumours lineup had a chemistry, a magic all of its own.

With Christine gone the balance went with her.

I quite like SYW although (I'm going to sound like a stuck record now) it's too long.

Now when they play live there's more than one opportunity to go for a wee if you need to.

When I saw them at Earls Court my jacket splipped off the back of the seat and fell down outside the seating area. Not to worry I thought I'll fetch it when World Turning comes on. As it happens I went to get it when Come was playing. How convenient! Or have I got that the wrong way round?

It's generally accepted on this board, right? We shouldn't have to be afraid to say we really don't like this or that. On the other hand, I don't think she would have necessarily been preaching to the choir had she said this in another forum, because I'm sure the Christine fans would pop up there as well. Either way, I don't think it's a big deal.

As for my opinion about the whole thing...she said that she prefers the emphasis on individual voices instead of harmonies, and though I can see that, I just don't feel the same way. I look to the solo albums for emphasis on the individual voices and really, really enjoy the harmonies in Fleetwood Mac, which I often like even more when Christine is involved. I'm not a huge fan of "Come" or "Murrow," but that's me. I do think SYW has some of Lindsey's best, though. I definitely prefer FM with Christine. I did think SYW was overall, a very good album. Definitely some of Lindsey's best work to date. But for me, it was because of his improved lyrical skills, rather than Christine's departure. I liked most of Stevie's songs. But dare I say, I liked many on TISL better?

But the bottom line is, as much as I miss Chris, I will take FM any way I can get them. Short of Bekka Bramlett. :)

I'm not a Christine fan, but a die hard Rumours lineup fan. To me, that lineup is the FLEETWOOD MAC I adore.

So SYW is not one of my fave albums (nor Behind the Mask). I don't see SYW as 2 joined solo albums, but I do realize something is missing, and is not only Chris voice, but the chemistry of the 5 guys working together in a studio, and producing huge albums as Tusk, Rumours or Tango.

John and Mick as the rhythm section, Lindsey the architect, Stevie a queen of rock bringing beautiful songs, Christine with other beautiful songs and adding the glue that makes the Fleetwood Mac sound, (yes, to me the Fleetwood Mac sound is not brought by Lindsey, but by the 5 guys)

Well the point of this thread was asking if Chris is out of the band. Sadly, to me, she is out, but I know she would be welcome.

The only thing I miss on syw is Christine's warm voice. But I'd like to say that it's stupid to call it a bad album because she's absent. Everyone agrees that there are some (very) poor songs on it, but on the opposite are very beautiful ones as well. With her in the band it would've been a SUPERB cd, without any weak ones. But hey, syw is sometimes very pleasant and some songs really touch you. Something you cannot say about those idiot "idols" or Britney's.

Rock on gold dust woman!I agree that SYW has some fantastic material, but I was wondering...does everyone think there are some very poor songs on it? I'm just curious to know if there's someone out there who likes every track on SYW. Are there some very poor songs on SYW? I think so.

-Come (great live, but it's pure torture on the record)
-Say You Will (I get cavities just listening to it)
-Peacekeeper (compared to the solo version, this is the pits; I despise how they slowed it down and I can't stand Stevie on it)
-Bleed To Love Her (not a poor song per se, but it's a waste of space)
-Thrown Down (I can't stand it)

Those are the exact things that kill it for me. That droning, monotone voice that seems to be serching high and low for a melody that isn't there, and the repetitive chorus. Exactly. While the lyrics are atrocious and the music/production sound straight out of the Street Angel sessions, her vocal is pretty good and she sings it like she means it. I particularly like the last minute of it.

I actually like Say You Will but think 1. She should have sung it in a higher voice and 2. she should have added a third stanza after the guitar solo.

But, they, as usual, did not call and ask me beforehand :cool:I agree. I enjoy it the way it is, but I think that if they had called your beforehand then it would have been much better. :wavey:

I think Homer spoke very well for the rest of us here. :) In my opinion, SYW consisted of 2 solo albums thrown together for marketing purposes. It's gone & forgotten as far as I'm concerned. And, Christine was NOT a back up singer in Fleetwood Mac and Chris, Mick & John were NOT the back up band. The Rumours line-up was made up of 5 equal parts which added up to a wonderful, magical whole.

Thank you! Christine has nor will she ever be "a back up band"....

I know this is weird but...christine never really did it for me. Her songs were all right, but I just was never interested in her. Whenever I saw her, she looked so bored. Seeing LB and SN together on this tour this year and last year was so awesome. It was like we could relive the Buckingham Nicks magic :)

I wouldn't mind if she didn't come back. I enjoyed "Say You Will" a whole lot with out her. :sorry:

When questioned how Christine felt about SYW on a recent radio show she said that It was really good...but with perhaps TOO much guitar, and that it is essentially a Buckingham Nicks album with John and Mick in the background. I feel the same way. I think that if they were going to do the whole buckingham nicks thing...they should have done it on their own...and not call it a Fleetwood Mac project!

Just wonderin, do you guys think that if Chris had been a part of SYW that the production would have been a little more *low* key! But Chris really dosen't like over produced-guitar drenched stuff...so do you think if she had been part of the project she would have encouraged more of a toned down sound? Just wondering what you thought about that?!?

In my opinion, SYW consisted of 2 solo albums thrown together for marketing purposes. It's gone & forgotten as far as I'm concerned.

I have to... disagree... with fans and critics who've complained about 'Say You Will' being nothing more than two solo albums slapped together.

First thing... 'Tusk,' 'Mirage' and 'Tango' all, at various moments throughout, sound like three solo albums put together.
'Tusk' most of all.
'Fleetwood Mac' and 'Rumours' are the only two of their albums together that really sound like the songs are coming from ONE band.
That's not a complaint, of course, as I've always loved the diversity within their sound.

Secondly, Lindsey's 'Gift Of Screws' material WAS recorded with Mick and John, with some contributions from Christine. Now, while it was INTENDED for a solo album, the members of Fleetwood Mac WERE present. And, in many ways, that makes his 'Say You Will' songs even more "Fleetwood Mac" than many of his 'Tusk' and 'Tango' tracks.

Lastly... Stevie's songs, while written outside of the band, were recorded from the ground up with Fleetwood Mac. Lindsey produced them, and he, John and Mick played on every track.
And while they worked on the instrumentation for many of the songs while Stevie was on the road, once she joined them in the studio, they all worked together closely for many, many months. Including four completely new songs that they worked on only once Stevie joined them.
All of which, in many ways, makes her tracks more "Fleetwood Mac" than her 'Mirage' and 'Tango' contributions.

Sure, Lindsey (and maybe even Stevie) probably hoped that a new Fleetwood Mac album would assure more exposure than a solo release could, but I still don't agree with the notion that it was all a "marketing ploy" slapped together in haste.
And I have to wonder if people would feel that way if Christine had been there too (let's not forget, after all, that her songs were slapped onto 'Time' at the "last minute").

I, for one, LOVE 'Say You Will.' I've even grown to love the couple tracks that I wasn't head over heels for initially. And I have no complaints about the length of the album. I'd rather have EIGHTEEN new tracks to digest after all these years, than only 12 or 13.

It's a shame that Christine didn't take part in the recording of the album as a full-member. And, yes, it had a haphazard origin. But that it doesn't make it any less worthy of an album, IMO. :)

Maybe you've lived on mars for 35 years but:

1) FM was originally a bluesrock outfit
2) Christine played as a session member on a few of Peter Green's FM albums
3) Since the departure of Green in 1970 FM has been on a continuous evolution: compare rumours to tusk & say you will, tusk to tango in the night...

I think macfan is well aware of the points above. and as far as I know she has never lived on Mars. ;) Perhaps what she meant was that the end result of SYW, had Chris truly 'been involved'-- (JMHO but a vocal/keyboard part she did years ago which was stuck on a new album doesn't really constitute true 'involvement') might have been an album that was just more of a traditional FM sound, and one that those who love the chemistry of that fivesome would more fully appreciate.

Or maybe she doesn't mean that at all. But that's what I would take her comment to mean.

First thing... 'Tusk,' 'Mirage' and 'Tango' all, at various moments throughout, sound like three solo albums put together.
'Tusk' most of all.To me, "Tusk" really sounds all of a piece in terms of instrumentation (the jazzy minimalism is evident throughout -- e.g., in the twiddling & meandering that bind keyboard & guitar parts on everything from "Sisters of the Moon" to "Over & Over" to "Never Forget") & ambience (virtually the same levels of reverb are set on about half the tracks, while the other half seem to have practically dry signals). "Tusk" just sounds totally like the same band to me all the way through -- not only that, but the same single year. I hear more immediate aspects of Fleetwood Mac's style in all the stuff on "Tusk" than I do on something like "Everybody Finds Out" or "Running Through the Garden" -- but that's because of deliberate approach to fashioning the tracks.
Secondly, Lindsey's 'Gift Of Screws' material WAS recorded with Mick and John, with some contributions from Christine. Now, while it was INTENDED for a solo album, the members of Fleetwood Mac WERE present. And, in many ways, that makes his 'Say You Will' songs even more "Fleetwood Mac" than many of his 'Tusk' and 'Tango' tracks.Excellent point. "Miranda" has more of Fleetwood Mac on it than "The Ledge" does.
And while they worked on the instrumentation for many of the songs while Stevie was on the road, once she joined them in the studio, they all worked together closely for many, many months. How many months did Stevie spend in the studio with the others? I get the feeling it wasn't all that long. What would she have done in there all that time? Spent the week catching spirits?
All of which, in many ways, makes her tracks more "Fleetwood Mac" than her 'Mirage' and 'Tango' contributions.I agree. Her songs on "Say You Will" are Fleetwood Mac tracks through & through. That's what makes something like "Illume" so exciting. We get to hear Fleetwood Mac pump!
Sure, Lindsey (and maybe even Stevie) probably hoped that a new Fleetwood Mac album would assure more exposure than a solo release could, but I still don't agree with the notion that it was all a "marketing ploy" slapped together in haste.I think, in Lindsey's case, it was, combined with a desire he had to work with these guys again. He loves them. C'mon, people. Wouldn't YOU want to record music with Mick Fleetwood & John McVie?! I mean, show some sense. There is no other rhythm section in the world that is as sensitive to the needs of a production-minded guitarist & songwriter.
And I have to wonder if people would feel that way if Christine had been there too (let's not forget, after all, that her songs were slapped onto 'Time' at the "last minute").I don't think Christine's inclusion would have affected the overall impact of the album. The elements that make the whole thing sound disjointed (too much time involved in laying down tracks, too much porting over, too much technology, too many outside cooks throwing salt & pepper into the brew) are things that Christine's presence wouldn't have diminished or altered anyway.
It's a shame that Christine didn't take part in the recording of the album as a full-member. And, yes, it had a haphazard origin. But that it doesn't make it any less worthy of an album, IMO. :)"Worthy"?

BUT, an album should make a cohesive statement. All the great ones DO. SYW doesn't. It challenges not only the listener's attention span, but also their ability to sit through a few sub-par songs.
The clunkers-I've maintained from day one- should have been put on the bonus disk. See, the REAL fans still get them all, BUT, the public gets a much more cohesive effort(which probably would've resulted in a few more sales). I, was given my deluxe SYW, by an aquaintence who heard Come and Murrow, and said, "David, you can HAVE this. It sucks". I only had to burn her a 20 cent copy of Greatest Hits in exchange!

If you're a CM fan fine, no problem and yeah, everybody's got their own opinion, very cool. But don't dislike something because of the abscence of one member.

And by the way, no one here seems to answer the fact that this band has been through a everlasting evolution. Then play on, rumours, tusk, tango in the night... the same ? no. A shame ? not at all. Some bands would've stopped after a key member would've left them. Not FM. For the money ?
I don't think they are poor...

It's true that "Running Through The Garden," "Murrow," "Everybody Finds Out" and "Come," don't instantly bring to mind the Fleetwood Mac Style... but, to my ears, I think they're every bit as much "Fleetwood Mac" as songs like "The Ledge," "I Know I'm Not Wrong," and "Big Love" (to name a few).

It's that branching off thing that they've done since 1979... tracks that could easily fit into one of their respective solo albums, but, by their inclusion on a Mac album, help to expand the horizon of the band's collective sound.

I'm not implying you feel this way, but perhaps that's what many fans have bristled about... the fact that, without Christine to "soften" things, the album doesn't always have the instant and comfortable familiarity that Fleetwood Mac's previous albums always possessed. Which apparently made it a little easier for the band to get away with throwing an offbeat track or two into the running order.

How many months did Stevie spend in the studio with the others? I get the feeling it wasn't all that long. What would she have done in there all that time? Spent the week catching spirits?

 She's going to have a harder time living down that spirit catcher than she's had living down some of those 80s outfits! ;)

Without any concrete data, any comments I could make about Stevie's studio time for 'Say You Will,' would be pure conjecture.
Based on interviews though, it seems that once she finally joined them she was there as much as possible up until she left for Hawaii and her and Lindsey had long-distance arguments about the track listing.

I didn't mean to imply that I thought she was there every waking hour though. No one in Fleetwood Mac, with the sole exception of Lindsey, EVER seems to log in that many hours!

"Worthy"?

It's been implied... and sometimes downright stated... that 'Say You Will' is somehow undeserving of being called a Fleetwood Mac album, and that, without Christine, it "doesn't really count."
Some fans seem to feel it unworthy of the Mac name... which I think is a bit of a myopic view.

I really can't get with that. I think SYW is superb, and very much a Mac album. They've always been separate people, with separate songs. I know they used to "work together" more, but IMO, it still often sounded like 3 different people with 3 different sensibilities. Which I think is irreplaceable, irreplicable, and the driving strength of this band. As far as Christine goes, I miss a few of her songs, but what i really miss is mainly her playing on Stevie's and Lindsey's songs, and her voice on those. I really can't get behind the whole "it's not a mac album without chris" thing. And even if that were "true", it's a hellavu album anyway, so i don't care. :D :wavey:

Meant to reply to you earlier, Homie. :)

I'll be the first one to say that 'Say You Will's' running order was a BIG mistake. I know Lindsey complained in the 'Destiny Rules' doc (or was it in one of the magazine interviews?) that if it were up to Stevie, all of the edgier material would be pushed towards the end of the album. And that he was adamant that that wasn't going to happen with this album.
Most likely this is the "huge battle over the running order" that Mick talked about as having nearly brought the entire ship down.

But I think it was a BIG mistake to weigh-down the first half of the CD with "Murrow," "Illume," "Red Rover" and "Come." They're too dark and heavy to open an album with ("Murrow" is the SECOND track, for Cripe's sake!).
Paired right alongside the aforementioned songs, "Miranda" and "Peacekeeper" also seem too "heavy" (subject-wise), by default. And none of them seem to have the impact they should have.

Had they spaced the tracks better... allowed the album to BREATHE... it would have had more impact, IMO.
I respect Lindsey's desire to shake the listener out of any complacency... but I always feel that it's better when you take the listener on the journey WITH you, as opposed to dragging them along, kicking and screaming. Start them off in familiar territory, and the audience is far more willing to explore new things over the course of the album.

I could be dead-wrong, but I really think it was the running order, FAR more than the amount of tracks, that left so many people cold.

My friend Anne bought the album the day it came out, but she told me that as hard as she tried, she couldn't get into it.
So a while back, I played her the copy I burned for myself with the running order that I came up with (with a valued assist from chiliD), and she told me she loved it. In fact, I know she really did, because she made me burn her a copy of it that way!

So, I really think a different track order could have made a BIG difference in people's perceptions of this album.

Oh, and for the record....

1. What's The World Coming To
2. Say You Will
3. Bleed To Love Her
4. Thrown Down
5. Peacekeeper
6. Smile At You
7. Murrow
8. Illume
9. Say Goodbye
10. Running Through The Garden
11. Miranda
12. Everybody Finds Out
13. Steal Your Heart Away
14. Silver Girl
15. Come
16. Destiny Rules
17. Red Rover
18. Goodbye Baby

I have to admit that although I find Christine's solo work to be a cure for insomnia I missed her on "SYW' .She really did force Stevie and Lindsey to choose their best material and the chemistry the Rumours era band had even when strained thin ,as on Mirage and TITN, was irreplacable.

Steal Your Heart Away

Stevie:

That would make a very nice album. I could really enjoy listening to something like that.

Phooey.

If the necessary ingredients aren't thrown into the recipe, it's not going to taste the same and some just may not care for it one bit.

I completely agree. Look at all the Peter Green fans who want nothing much to do with the band after Peter left. I consider those people to be "real fans". Chris is no different, in my opinion.

The look on John's face when she brings in that spirit catcher...priceless. :laugh:Aw man. I never even looked at his face the few times I watched it. I'm going to have to put it in again just to look for that.

You gotta be American to understand the Native American Vibe... :)

This had me in stitches, Amber. I've no idea what to make of it.

Oh, yeah, I wonder what the hell i meant there? I guess I meant that Mick and John are British, so would think it's extra stupid...

I think the idea of American's understanding Native American's and their "vibes" is what made me laugh.

I'm not one to have a Lindsey track, then a Stevie one. It's too predictable. I kinda like it off balance. Your order is pretty good, though.

You know what, it really works though. I think you'd be surprised.
Then again, maybe not... we don't tend to agree on these kinds of things! :xoxo:

I know on paper it seems ultra-predictable having it Lindsey/Stevie/Lindsey/Stevie, and so on... but the songs flow into each other so incredibly well, that, as you're listening to it, it doesn't feel predictable at all. At least in my very humble opinion. :o

So, I really think a different track order could have made a BIG difference in people's perceptions of this album.

I suppose running order makes a big difference to some people, but it never really affects me. I have a totally different way of listening to artists that I love. I love SYW because I love a lot of the individual tracks on it. I judge an album by how many songs I really like, rather than by how the album flows as a whole.
When I get a new album by an artist that I love, I'll listen to it a few times and pick out the songs that really stand out to me. Then I'll copy those songs, and only those songs, onto a typically 1-2 disc long compilation of my favorite tracks from that artist (or seven discs in the case of Tom Petty). In the case of Fleetwood Mac, I have compilations from Lindsey, Stevie, Christine, and Billy Burnette but I don't have a Fleetwood Mac compilation. FM songs get divided up according to the singer. Consequently, I couldn't tell you the last time I actually listened to SYW or Rumours or The Dance or any Fleetwood Mac album for that matter.
I also couldn't tell you what songs from In the Meantime I would use to replace what I consider to be the weakest songs on SYW. I bought ITMT, listened to it once, was unimpressed, and haven't given it a second chance yet. :sorry:

I do not like every track on SYW. Usually, I end up skipping over Illume...

Ironic, isn't it?

I think in the meantime is not bad, just a little too slow.

I think ITMT is AWSOME! As Mic said "It's classic Christine McVie material." Just with the british funk twist that Dan brought on it! Very funky and groovy! CHRIS IS AWSOME!

She sings backup and co-wrote one of the songs on Faith Hill's "Cry" album, very awsome work she does! "Cry" is one of my fav. albums of all time.

I think they tried to give it a chance, i mean they took it on the road etc... i remember John telling me at that time that he found it so frustrating that the record company was not promoting them at all, he couldn't find a sign of a new FM album anywhere.

They had COMPLETED the tour before the Time album was even released!! Had they continued to tour subsequent to the album's release, it would've been a little better received, I think. AND, they would've HAD to have played more than just the TWO songs from Time in their concert set. A little more Fleetwood Mac and a little less Dave Mason solo material also would've helped the cause.

I saw a show, and I remember people all around me bitching about "this wasn't EVEN FM!" Bekka did "Dreamin' the Dream", and I became her FAN. :xoxo:

All very true. I always forget that they toured before it. I guess they did that because it was the summer and that was 'prime touring time'...? esp since they were doing small little outdoor arenas etc. Molly was out w/ John on that tour, such a cutie pie, tossing out her little rose petals at the end.

Didn't the album come out in October? I guess it would've been hard to tour in the months directly following that. But still, kind of a weird decision.

It's a pity that Time wasn't so well received by FM fans. :( Despite being a completely devoted Lindsey Buckingham fan, I actually really enjoy this album. I even have the promo poster for it hanging on my wall. It's just too bad that I wasn't really aware of the band when it came out. I would have enjoyed seeing Bekka Bramlett and Billy Burnette play (and Christine, too).
Time is actually one of the few FM albums that I enjoy from start to finish. I even like Fleetwood's "These Strange Times." This album got me started as a Billy fan, I've bought several of his solo albums since, and I bought Bekka and Billy which I also love.

I also have a huge promo poster, I love it! Time is really not a bad album (if you take off the dave mason stuff.) :p

BTW Chris wasn't on that tour w/ them.

Oh. Well I still would have enjoyed Bekka and Billy. I actually like Dave Mason's contributions but then, with four singers in the group - plus a track by Mick, there wasn't much of Dave's stuff to speak of.
