Landslide at my Colorguard Competition!

Okay, so I'm in Colorguard and we had a competition today. I was in the practice room with the rest of my team and we were going through the routine, and I started to hear a song that I totally knew, coming from somewhere close. I totally realized it was Landslide...But it was the version by the DIXIE CHICKS!!!!!! I totally was flipping out...I was like DIXIE CHICKS KILLED THE SONG, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN SO MUCH BETTER DONE BY FLEETWOOD MAC... And people on the team wern't even listening to me...But then when we finished the routine people were coming up to me like "Wait, is that Landslide, by your favorite band?" I was like YES!!!! Then they all started to tell me it was so much better by FM! So yeah, I had to share that with everyone, and the Dixie Chicks version is so bad...Ick. :sorry: if you like it! Thank god that they got 2nd for that routine :D

But my team got two first places, and a 2nd place. I don't know if they got any firsts...Good :)

Colorguard is flag twirling...Also there's sabers, rifles, and batons...You might still be confused...It's like those people that twirl the flags with the band and stuff! :blob2:

How cool! Not the fact they used the Dixie Chicks' version of Landslide, but the fact that you're in a color guard! I was a rifle in high school. LOONNG time ago. Are you in one through school or a private one? Oh, an congrats on the first places!

I had no idea that that many people really disliked that God aweful song but the Dicky chickens! It sucka all kinds of hairy ass! :D

I have a vary eclectic taste in music, and I LOVE the Dixie Chicks. BUT FM's version is way better! If you ever see them live, they are excellent musicians. I don't listen to a lot of country, but they are one of my favorites.

I wish I could play any instrument like those girls do.

We actually qualified all three routines for super sectionals, and this is our second competition out of 6. So we're doing REALLY good! I can't wait for State :)

Congrats - I'm an old band geek myself lol - but some of my friends were in the color guard...and then there were the members of the colorguard we made fun of mercilessly :sorry: ;)

Cool about Landslide - though I don't like the DC version either...I'm just not a big fan of remakes period.
