Okay, I posted something about this on the "Is Stevie a Vegitarian" thread, but I guess I'll start a thread about it. So I was in Phoenix last week and went to Cooperstown, Alice Cooper's restaurant in downtown Phoenix. Well, they have an item on the menu called, "The Stevie Nicks Gardenburger" and well, I thought it was a pretty damned hilarious little factoid.
Anyway, I also heard some of Alice's radio show while I was there...and I found out from my sister that he's got conservative leanings. Hmmm...I've always like Alice but now, I dunno, I mean I'll still like some of his music but I can't abide by any conservativism from anyone! Anyway, I thought I'd share that little tidbit about the burger. Oh, and by the way, I had the Megadeth meatloaf and it was pretty darned good!

I don't think they had the Stevie Nicks Garden burger last time I was at Cooperstown...damn - I might have tried it, and I know my ex would have had it
I like Cooperstown - I like Phoenix...I think that's where I go when I make my next move :D

Yeah, Phoenix is a great city. I have to admit the restaurant was pretty awesome, there were posters and all kinds of rock and roll memorabilia everywhere! Great for rock music lovers.

Absolutely  My sister and her friend shared the gigantic hot dog before the 2000 AHI show...good stuff - I was too nervous to eat lol...it was my first Stevie concert
I am also surprised about Alice Cooper's conservative leanings...crazy

Same here. I didn't eat or drink anything practically that whole day before my first FM concert. I don't know if it was nerves or the fear of having to go to the bathroom and miss something in the show.

Yeah it's weird huh? During his radio show he all but defended modern day black face minstrelsey and then a friend of mine told me about some negative comments he made recently about anti-Bush supporters, like he may be a supporter. I don't know, I may have it all wrong but that seems fishy to me.

 good to know I wasn't the only one like that...I felt like such an idiot - I was all nervous but thinking, "What the heck - I'm not the one performing"
I'm better about it now - can eat before shows no problem...BUT when I saw her on the TISL tour I did end up having to go to the bathroom SO badly by the end...I couln't even scream or anything - all my concentration went into holding it ...I made it through okay...

 The second show I went to I ate before, but I was fine throughout the show. I guess I didn't think about it. If Stevie only knew what we went through... ;)

Vincent Furnier is cool in my books no matter what his political views are (Unlike Ted Nugent who grates my nerves now non-musically), which are always going to contrast with his on-stage other-self Alice Cooper.

eating before a show as long as I don't end up with food poisoning like I did at the Dallas Hard Rock Cafe before the Fleetwood Mac show that night in July 2003, Otherwise I'm not as nervous as I am just anxious for the show to start.

if I wasnt ill due to being "sick as a dog" from HRC great choices on the menu I would have won those damn front row tickets (Lindsey's side of the stage) in the "Simon Says" type of game a radio station was having that I was suckered into, I was just too ill from food poisoning and then the heat hampered my ill feeling, So I just had a brain freeze in the sunlight and was eliminated 2nd person from the last.
Kinda funny but everyone in the crowd afterwards said I was robbed because the game's MC said "Simon says sing and spin like Stevie Nicks". Which I did then she said stop, without saying "Simon says" and the other 2 did as I kept on spinning/singing off key and getting sicker, But she gave 'em another chance outta sympathy...Those in attendance "booed" that poor radio announcer when she gave 'em another chance. Best part however was that neither of the two remaining contestants (After I was eliminated) knew a single song title by Fleetwood Mac when asked by the MC chick-
Blonde haired bimbo-"Bri-annon" (WTF??? Bri?? That's the first 3 letters of my name ya twit)
Older bald guy-"Lightning Strikes" (WTF part deux??? Try "Dreams" as the title baldy...And some Rogaine too  )
Man, Looking back, Texans sure are dumb as lint!!!

It's dumb as a stump. Gaw. LOL!! Those people were stupid, perhaps, they came to see the show from Oklahoma. ;) Heh.
Alice Cooper is good friends with Pat Boone, who I really like.

The stage show is fabulous! It's unfortunate that someone so talented could still be living in the age of Strom Thurmond.

Dude, you were robbed. It was so frickin' hot in Dallas that day, I'll never forget it. I haven't experienced that kind of humidity since I lived back east.

as hot in Dallas as it was in OKC 2 days earlier, Ask anyone who attended both shows which day had the more oppressive humidity (ie-It rained a bit in OKC, so that's a hint) I'm sure OKC had the worse end of the stick...
Yeah, I was robbed, But what could ya do when the MC/DJ chick didnt catch the other 2 idiots stopping when everyone else watching the contest noticed they both did at the exact same time

Well I don't think it surprises me, jsut because I don't conclude on someones political views jsut because of their occupation or apparent demeanour.

I don't know what the deal is with him. During the show, he brought up a story about a judge who went in black to face to some party or something and was removed from the bench for doing so. Mind you, he wasn't in black face in court  but still, I guess the powers that be decided that was no way for a judge to act in court or otherwise (and rightly so). Anyhoo, Alice was railing against stringent P.C.'ers who can't see the humor in anything anymore and go off the deep end with punishments, yaddah, yaddah, yaddah. While I agree with his "P.C. is getting out of hand" stance, I didn't agree with his reasoning about this particular case. And the fact that his father is a minister and he's friends with Pat Boone leads me to believe further that he truly does have conservative leanings, but then again I suppose you can be friends with whomever you want to, and for all kinds of reasons, I mean, didn't Pat Boone do a metal album a few years back and cover one of Alice's songs? Anyway, I'd like to to give Alice the benefit of the doubt because I do like him, but like I said, I don't have to agree with his politics if in fact he is a conservative republican. He may not even align himself with any party/ideology, I don't know. I just know that his comments rubbed me the wrong way.

Right - I don't have to agree with someone's politics in order to like them or whatever - I am a big Loretta Lynn fan - I believe she's Republican...
But it did surprise me - I guess it more amused me that Alice Cooper has conservative leanings...but hey to each their own...

Exactly! Given his stage theatrics and "off the wall-ness" I'm surprised too. Oh, well, ya nevah know about people...
Wasn't it "rumoured" that John McVie was a Republican?

Alice Cooper actually lives in the same sub-division/gated community that Stevie does in Phoenix.
Maybe they're friends?
Yeah, maybe they have jam sessions together  I'm imagining them rocking out together on guitars swaying to and fro in unison like the old concert footage of those two guys from Kiss.
