Anyone else addicted to the Jack Bauer Power Hour like I am?

I hadn't been looking forward to the premiere too much, too distracted by Alias, but they got me back. So much ass-kicking!

My husband is, and I taped it for him since we were watching desperate Housewives. But I haven't told him that I think the VCR stopped at like 9:55. Hopefully the last few minutes weren't too important! Oh, he's also a big Alias fan, and I really enjoyed it the other night, too.

I really like this show. I was so excited when I saw gldstwmn's "24" thread last week, only to be crushed when it turned out to be about the EC count. ;)

Both episodes tonight were great! A little formulaic in places -- Jack Bauer's saved the world 3 times already, so why won't anyone listen to him??? -- but very exciting. I LOVED when the rocket suddenly appeared and blew up the Sec of Defense's limo.

Also glad they got some new characters. Great to see Lukas Haas and William DeVane -- I've always liked them. Oh, and I'm SOOOOOOO glad Jack's daughter is gone. All that "I've gotta save my daughter!!!" crap was a little tired after 3 seasons.

2 more hours tomorrow!!! :blob1: :blob1:

Hee! Me too!

I LOVED William Devane. The TerrorFamily was so creepy, too. That scene of them eating breakfast was just so creepy and unsettling.

I'm with you on why they don't just listen to Jack. The new head of CTU is such a bitch on wheels. Hope she meets the same fate Ryan Chappelle did last season. Haa.

From what I remember, the last five minutes just set up the Sec Of Defense storyline -- the terrorists took over the internet (using the virus discovered earlier in the show) with a webcast showing the SOD gagged & bound. They said they would try him for crimes against humanity in 3 hours, and then broadcast his beaheading to the world.

I'm sure they'll show the whole little sequence again Mon. night at the start of the next hour. "Previously on 24...!!!"

And what a nice husband, to let you watch your show and tape his!!! He's a keeper for sure... ;)

Yes, creepy indeed. I think there's something up with TerrorMom -- why would SHE want to take the briefcase instead of her son. And what's in the briefcase??? I hope they show us, and don't pull a Pulp Fiction.

The new CTU head looked like she was about to cry the whole episode. And I love Chloe: "I'm not in the mood to play scared student summoned by the principal. Why don't you just get to the point?" LOL

My favorite Chloe moment was when she asked Jack how Chase and Kim were, etc. and she was just all "It's not that I'm not interested,... BUT." I love me some Chloe.

TerrorMom is so beautiful. Shohreh I Can't Spell Her Last Name from The House of Sand and Fog. They did some great casting- her, Nestor Serrano, Lukas Haas.

to download or not to download, that's my dilemma.
the channel which broadcasts the series here starts as of today to repeat the entire series on a daily basis, beginning from episode 1, which means that it'll take them something like 3 months till the new episodes finally air, i think i won't be able to resist the temptation for so long, and i'll download season 4 by then. i can't wait. i looooooooooooove 24!

Damn it I am guessing it will be another few months before before we get the new series starting over here, we are always behind with American shows.

The first two hours were great. I can't wait for the next two tonight. But I always need a good drink and a valium after I watch an episode of 24. I guarantee you that the kid's girlfriend is going to get it. They've got to establish that this family is ruthless so what better why to do it than by offing her? Did anyone besides me think that Jack's new girlfriend is a little. . . plain?

Chloe seems to have gotten a makeover, she was looking pretty good. I love her no nonsense attitude too.

Terror Mom is absolutely terriFYING, she scares the crap outta me.

The kid is shown to be ordered to off his GF in the scenes for tonight. I wonder what will actually happen. Also, there is some kind of plot twist tonight that "we'll never see coming". This show is so freaking exciting, I love it!

I love it, my fav show!!! We're only in mid season 3 here, so maybe I shouldn't read too much here...

Thanks for the info. I'll fill him in if he needs it. He's watching it now, so I'll soon find out if it missed the end.

Yeah, I guess I'll keep him, after 20 years together! Did I mention he cooks, too? But usually we end up watching his shows. He gives me a lot of grief when I want to watch ER. For some reason THAT'S the night he decides he wants to go to bed early. Jerk.. ;)

I was hoping he'd just decide on his own to off her, when she followed him to the briefcase delivery site. "Why didn't you call me back??? WAAAAAHHHHHH. Why are you avoiding me??? WAAAAAAAHHHHH." I wanted to go all Sopranos on her myself. What part of "I'm doing something very important for my father" could she not understand?  ;)

So the VCR stopped taping right after the ending on Sunday. Phew....

Last night I started watching at the beginning of the second episode, and had to ask him a bunch of questions to get caught up. Needless to say he wasn't happy! It was okay, but I don't know if it's one that I'll watch every week. We'll see..

Did he off her last nite? I missed episode 4 since my roommate wanted to watch The Bachelorette. I saw some of it during commercials so I know about Jack's "robbery" and I saw the end. I didn't see what happened with Behrooz and Debbie.

TerrorMom invited her over and told TerrorKid to off her, and gave him a gun. He couldn't do it, and started to try and get her to run out of the house with him, when she collapses. TerrorMom, already assuming TerrorKid wouldn't be able to do it, poisoned her iced tea. Kick ass!

Jack holding up a convenience store... hilarious. I really don't like the new CTU staff, though. The boss is a bitch, and the other guys are just boring. Aisha Tyler is nasty, and boring. Chloe's making up for it, although I'm starting to like Mumbly Joe a little less.

Thanks for the synopsis! For some reason that was left off of one I read on the 'net. Like it wasn't important or something ?

I agree with you about the CTU staff being boring. Chloe is such an interesting character though, and she looks good this year. I thought Jack was going to leave her friend for dead, I'm glad he didn't.

I agree that the CTU boss is a total bitch and she has horrible instincts. That kid doesn't know anything about those that kidnapped his father. Duh!

I officially LOVE TerrorMom!!! (I also always rooted for Darth Vader, go figure... ;) ).

Was the convenience store holdup the 'big surprise ending you won't believe' that the network hyped? I didn't think it was such a big deal, given the things Jack has done in the last 3 seasons. He didn't even shoot anybody!!!

Also, did they cover this (or did I miss it): Why couldn't CTU locate Jack once he went off on his own? Do they expect us to believe that all the gov't anti-terrorist vehicles (like the one Jack was driving) don't have satellite locators in them? Just wondering...

CHLOE RULES!!! I'm praying that now that she's been arrested, she'll take a cue from Jack's playbook, steal a gun, shoot a few people (or maybe blow up some sh*t), escape, and become Jack's new partner to help him save the day. Now that would be some righteous character developement. GO CHLOE!!!

I think the SOD's son has to know SOMETHING, even if he thinks he doesn't. How else would the terrorists have known where to kidnap him? I was really fascinated by the sensory deprivation interrogation techniques -- and the actor that plays the son is a REALLY good screamer. Or could it be Aisha Tyler's character is really a mole and she's behind it all?

Oh man, when that kid was confiding in TerrMom I was like "NO, she's more evil than TerrorDad!" Because she is good at "acting" compassionate (shiver). She is an awesome character but she freaks me out!

I was thinking the exact same thing about the hype, the hold up thing was different but not shocking given the things Jack has done, I agree. I was looking for the synopsis online because I thought I missed something. Nope. In the preview on Sun they used the phrase "You'll never see coming". I also thought there was some sort of car explosion in that preview, maybe they cut it out of the ending and it will start off next week's episode? I dunno.

I also thought a plothole this season was Jack's "partner" running up to the terrorist's car in the way that he did. In reality he would have taken cover much better.

Is it just me, or does TerrorMom always look like she's floating when she's moving? Especially that scene last night when she was going up the stairs with the gun...

Oh yeah -- and I remember the explosion from the previews too, now that you mention it. Maybe it's how Jack escapes from all those cops...

I can't wait another week, after being spoiled with 4 new episodes so quickly!!! :p

She does! She floated around getting that iced tea. I missed the scene you're talking about.

I was waiting for the explosion last nite and then it just ended with Jack on the ground and I was like, "What the?". Darn Fox.

Hopefully next week I will get to see the whole thing!

Last night's Hour 5 was pretty boring. :distress:

Also, did I miss something -- what happened to the Def Sec's son? They didn't mention him at all last night, right? I only took one bathroom break. LOL Or is he still in that room being subjected to the depravation/interrogation.

And Chloe got fired! NOOOOOOOOOOO I loved when she told her accomplice that he was a geek, but a good guy, which was more important. And Chloe knows something about being a geek! I was hoping they'd have a rendezvous in the broom closet, and we'd get to see some really freaky geeklovin'. But no -- just lotsa terrorists...
