Brad Pitt, Jennifer Aniston Separate
13 minutes ago Entertainment - Reuters Celebrity/Gossip
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Hollywood power couple Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston (news) have separated after 4 1/2 years of marriage but remain "committed and caring friends," the couple said on Friday.
"We would like to announce that after seven years together we have decided to formally separate," Pitt and Aniston, who first met on a dinner date in 1998, said in a joint statement initially published by People magazine on its Web site.
"For those who follow these sorts of things, we would like to explain that our separation is not the result of any of the speculation reported by the tabloid media," the statement said.
"This decision is a result of much thoughtful consideration. We happily remain committed and caring friends with great love and admiration for one another. We ask in advance for your kindness and sensitivity in the coming months."
Pitt, 41, current starring in the big-screen crime caper "Ocean's Twelve" and former "Friends" star Aniston, 35, were married in a lavish, celebrity-studded wedding in the seaside California resort of Malibu in July 2000.

Personally, I think Jen was a bitch to live with. She seems to have that "fakeness" about her when she is out and about.

really? Everyone who talks about her say she is incredibly nice and sensitive...course, that doesn't necessarily mean that, to a guy, she wouldn't come off as 'bitchy'
I was thinking that Brad probably paid an excessive amount of attention to his projects and stuff. He likes to redo houses and all that.

I can't even begin to describe how much I dislike Angelina Jolie - don't know why I just really really can't stand her...
Anyway - I hope he didn't cheat on Jen w/Angelina - blech...
And -I am oddly saddened by the news of the split too...despite myself - I hate even knowing or wanting to know about them - but oh well...

Sylvia scares the crap outta me. They are building a bridge in the county my parents live from WV to OH. She said the bridge that is there now will fall before the other one (which is being bulit beside it) is finished. My mom goes over that bridge 3 days a week for work. I think it is just weird that she would pinpoint a place that no one knows about.

I think Brad's kind of an ass anyway and we all know Angelina has more than a few screws loose. Brad's spread his love all over Hollywood before he married her. Who knows if Angelina was his first affair or not? Supposedly the two of them became close while filming their recent movie together. One thing led to another and all of the gossip hounds caught on. I'm totally not surprised though. I thought the marriage would fold way earlier. Seven year itch, Brad?

She was good in that movie with Paul Rudd - he was he gay roomate. I mean she is not a stellar talent - but she can be good in roles like that
As for him, he is not the best actor in the world either - but he was good if not great in both of the Ocean movies and Troy was watchable even if he was not NEARLY as good as Bana, Bloom, or O'Toole - granted the last was sublime and always is  He was also good in Legends of the Fall

Everything moved so fluidly, for me, and the ending was the most shocking thing I've ever seen in a movie. I mean, it was brutal beyond belief. I thought the rape scenes were hard to take, but that ending. Hoo boy. I wished it was longer, though, because I enjoyed it so much. The lack of props and scenery was brilliant and a hoot at the same time.
And how can you say nothing happened?! The town exploited her incredibly, chained her up, raped her nightly, and then there was that ending. And the scene with James Cann was greatness.

I thought she was too obvious, even in Gia. She has a real stage actress, too fake, too obvious vibe to me. Like the girls in my highschool productions...who were good, but not....like me...  god, I'd die to see Nicole Kidman after her! JK, my respect for Nicole is growing...not that it was ever toooo far down, but...
Angelina Jolie has a good potential as an actress, IMO, but needs a director who takes some risks and a less predictable part. To work with Brad Pitt won't help her at all. ;)

I don't care what anyone says, Nicole Kidman is one of the greatest living actresses. She proved that in Dogville. Best. Movie. Evah. :woohoo:
One of the best of 2003, IMO. I liked a lot the movie, Von Trier did a great job, as good as with Breaking The Waves, IMO, but I still prefer the movie with Emily Watson, where he tried less harder to prove a point.
Nicole Kidman is great though. I'm so glad she's gonna work with Wong Kar-Wai.

I liked Breaking the Waves, but that's one that I could never watch again because it's just so humiliating. I suppose Dogville is the same way, but I actually liked it a lot because he bashed us over the head with the point so much. You never knew what was coming next, though you expected it, and the ending just hits you in the face like a sack of bricks. And, c'mon, the ending credits with the Bowie song? Priceless!
I liked Dancer In the Dark, too, but I also thought it dragged quite a bit and a couple of the songs felt out of place. The scene where Bjork killed David Morse was incredibly disturbing.

He's not. He looks like 19 year old stuck in a 40 year olds body. And there can be no question that he's had work done, especially on those pecs. Look at his Thelma and Louise pecs and then pop in Troy. No man develops like that naturally. If we did, I'd be orgasmic about hitting 40.

A River Runs Through it? I liked that movie and his performance. I could identify with it too since he was like my younger bro and I more like his older bro, both very different. But I don't think the part was a huge stretch for him, like playing himself.
What about Kalifornia? I didn't really care for that movie. What was he doing with Juliette Lewis? I never got that.
Personally I am sort of sad about Brad and Jen's split because I think they are both nice people, but I know that is an unpopular opinion around these parts! I'm not shocked though. I suppose I am finally jaded.

As for Brad Pitt I love him. I have always been a fan. I use to work for Brad's grandma years ago. Brad was born in my hometown (Shawnee, OK) he wasn't raised there but came back every now and then. It drives me nuts. Their stories from season to season never matches up. They have offspring that pop up out of the blue. It's crazy. The part that urks me the most is that the picture outside of the house, doesn't match the inside. Their porch has been Blanche's room at one point....and how big can a bedroom be?

I'm glad to see that there are other "Girls" fans on the Ledge, perhaps we should start a new Golden Girls thread?
