Well, I won't be dieting anytime soon. I have so much candy that I could open up my own store. I don't even think that I can eat that much.
EVERYONE gave me some kind of candy! Not to mention a Dunkin Donuts gift card.
Maybe in February but that other evil holiday will be around then. :(
Now of course if any tour news comes around I'll be on a diet really fast  :D :xoxo:

She asked a question. I quoted that question when I answered it. When people do that, it usually means they are answering and/or directly addressing the poster's question regardless of whether the poster's name is included in any kind of saluatation in the response. If not, then the question becomes who am I responding to - the answer can only be my betrothed Lux.

In case you could not tell from the five or so emoticons I put after my statement - I was joking and responding to your clearly humorous (at least to me) and sarcastic (in a good way) use of the phonetic "der" in response to my responseto Lux (which you apparently did not get at first)
From now on, whenever I put that many emoticons denoting humor after a statement - it means I meant it in humor. I hope that helps forestall any future misinterpretations

I'm not ready to diet yet, after the new year. Like Pattie I have tons of candy. Also I just don't want to yet. I am, howver, going to begin a daily regimine at the gym since the business of December kept me away from it and now I feel like a sloth.

Yeah I ate so freaking much over the past 4 days that I feel and look huge. I swear I put on at least 10 pounds. I think most of it is water weight cuz there really is no way to actually gain that much weight in 4 days but it still sucks. I was doing soo good on my diet and working out like crazy and then Christmas comes around and ruins all my hard work. Aaargh. Now I feel like I have to start all over again. YUCK.
I think if I eat one more cookie I will throw up. I dont want to look at any more cookies until next Christmas.

You are a true food fanatic, bless you. I am as well. :wavey: I have never had anything in lard that I know of. Are the tamales deep fried in the lard? What I had was just as bad, prime rib wonderfully marbled with fat, sweet potatoes with a whole stick of butter in them, white potatoes again with a stick of butter, peas with 3/4 stick, etc... I made a carrot cake with cream cheese frosting, ate chocolate, cookies, etc... Made appletinis (slurptacularly delicious), had beer, coke, etc... So, I'm going to the gym tonite too, will be thinking of you Deanna, you GO girl! :D

Are the tamales deep fried in the lard?
No - they're interesting....I asked my mom yesterday what they are made up (mistake) so here's what I know - they are made of a mixture of corn flour type stuff called Masa (mah-sah) - the masa is mixed with the Manteca (lard) - real manteca must be used - no healthier substitute is acceptable...
Then there's the pork - which people prepare differently - but it's shredded and usually mixed with a red chile of some sort - then it all comes together in a burrito shaped food - and they wrap them in corn husks (the corn husks do not get eaten).
They're really quite good - if the person knows how to make them - they're gross if they're too dry...
Mexican food is SO bad but I ate a whole lot of it this last week....not to mention my mom's potato salad which somehow became a Christmas staple years and years ago....ugh...now I'm munching on carrot sticks and bottled water lol....
Have fun at the gym tonight...I have a feeling it's going to be quite crowded at gym throughout the US :p :wavey:

Oh it's gonna be so crowded, and my gym is so small it sucks. Although our sister gym is larger and less crowded but it is a fair walk away. Maybe I'll go there anyway. Sometimes my gym just smells, I don't think the ventilation is that great, I need a new gym!
All that talk about Mexican made me crave a burrito which I know the cafe makes on Mondays. But that was too far of a walk in this brutal cold so I got tortellini soup instead and probably saved a few hundred cals.
I went to feed my little stray kitties and it is so sad because with all of this snow I don't know where they are. I'm hoping they are okay, I know that their fur has gotten awfully thick, plus there are 3 of them so they can huddle together. Poor babies. :( :distress:

However, i myself do not love chinese. some of it i like though...usually it's just way more greasy than rice and veggies and meat should be, though.
Italian all the way! That, and fruits and veggies. Oh, I like red meat, too. :D Everything else can stay away.

Bad is right. Good is not. I hate Mexican food. I don't see why so many people love it. I do like Nachos with all that stuff on top, but I stay away from everything else. The smell alone makes me gag.
Same with Chinese.....it's awful.
:o
Well - I daresay that in West Virginia you've never been exposed to GOOD Mexican food....
In fact I'm quite the Mex. Food snob - Southern New Mexico/West Texas has THE BEST....you can't get it like that anywhere else in the states - and that's the truth....
In DC there was a Mexican Food place by where I lived - It made me gag too - nasty nasty smells came from that place...but seriously - NM has amazing Mex food
