I was listening to Art Bell last night and he had people call in and make some predictions for 2005. Some of them were way out.

I was just wondering if some of us Ledgies could come up with some of our own predictions for 2005. It can be Fleetwood Mac related or not related.
If you want to share some really weird ones that you have heard go ahead.

This is from the Coast to Coast AM website:

2005 Predictions Part 1
Art Bell hosted Part 1 of his Annual Prediction Show for the new year (part 2 will be on New Year's Eve). In his review of some of the predictions made last year for 2004, he found that someone had correctly foreseen the Red Sox World Series victory, and another caller predicted 2004 would be "the year of the big hurricanes."

Among the highlights in the over 50 predictions for 2005 that Art recorded:
Canada will rally to become part of the U.S.
Stem cell research will yield a cure for Parkinson's.
A major accident at a Cleveland nuclear plant will be caused by vibration cracks.
Bigfoot will be officially classified, when one is captured and killed.
Saudi Arabia will fall to Islamic terrorists.
The International Space Station will be abandoned.
Russian forces will invade Alaska.
A cruise ship in the Caribbean will be blown up by terrorists in May.
A disease will cause red armpits over America.

I'll start with the negatives and hope it gets better....

Michael Jackson's case to be postponed, postponed again on a flimsy technicality, and then he will be found guilty but some loophole will be found and he will avoid jail...

The United States to continue to ignore the worlds pleas to cut carbon dioxide emissions..

Thousands more innocent lives to be lost around the world in places such as Iraq, Afganistan, Ethiopia and politicians to sit back and watch..

More violence and terrorism to consume the planet....

Bush to roll the dice and see who's next on his list... Syria, Iran etc...

Blair and Labour to win the election and remain in power in the UK.

Me to find a new job after the company I work for makes all it's staff redundant due to huge losses.

Michael Schumacher to win his 8th F1 world title.

Martin Scorcese to finally win an Oscar for best Director..

Velvet Revolver to tour the UK.. :]

Mark Knopfler to tour the world.. :blob1:

Lindsey Buckingham to release a new album. :blob1: :blob2: :blob1:

Major breakthoughs in the fight against AIDS, diabetes and cancers to be found (hopefully)

Pink Floyd to reform and tour (OK, it ain't happening but I can dream!!)

I wish, but I *HATED* The Aviator with a passion. Great first hour and then it just fell apart. It was as if everything was just sucked out of it.

I've not seen it yet but I think he'll get the token vote. He was robbed out of it for Goodfellas by Costner's "Dances With Wolves"..

I don't think he's that into computers... We know Javier, Bob Welch, Taku and Brett Tuggle look at the FM boards and The Ledge plus Kristen is known to be well versed on the internet.. And of course the fantastic John McVie knows his stuff too...

There's entirely too many coincidences "I Know I'm Not Wrong" and "Beautiful Child" played on this past tour as one example of Ledgies and their views being made public and suddenly the band just happens to play those songs... Hmmm, one hell of a coincidence that is.....

So guys... If you are reading get LB out on the road and make sure he comes to the UK too.....

I am sure that someone from the band is reading and maybe printing out some of our comments. OH no Lord help me!

We need a hair sample to prove it.

Seriously, does anyone remember someone claiming to be either Lindsey's niece or cousin posting on the Ledge around 1995 or 1996. I believe that it was before the Dance. Back in the day.
I think that her last name was also Buckingham but I can't remember her first name.
It could have been an imposter but I know I remember someone posting as his relative.

I haven't seen The Aviator yet, but this seems the perfect year to give the Oscar to Martin Scorsese, even if I would prefer Mike Leigh, Alejandro Amenabar or Clint Eastwood.

Other random predictions:
Oscar to Dante Ferretti (art director) and Francesca Lo Schiavo (set decorator) for The Aviator
Stevie solo album + tour+ my first trip to US
Christine's Q&A
Berlusconi's government will fall (this MUST happen)
A DVD I've been waiting for 2 months will finally arrive
Anthony Hopkins would stop saying in every interview: " Don't ask me this, I'm just an actor".
My dog will stop eating all my pens.
