Hey there,

I have been a member for a while and a long time enthusiast of the board. It seems to be a great group of people here, and I thought it was about time I made a post!

I was looking to make an Ultimate Lindsey Live Compilation featuring his most intense, crazy, or amazing solos. Can you please give me some suggests.

So far I have one track..

The Chain - Baton Rouge - Mirage Tour

Any suggestions for some other songs? solo/FM anything.

There are so many good versions of GYOW, ISA, EOTW, Tusk, any more?

Any imput would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Neil

Hi Neil! Welcome to the board! You should get lots of suggestions from Ledgies about crazy Lindsey solos.

Here are some of mine off the top of my head:

The Chain - Mirage video (Best live version of The Chain evah!)

ISA - Dance, Mirage video, the Concert for the Environment, the November 29, 2003 London show, Mobile, AL (8-11-80), Japan (2-13-80)...(I could go nuts with the live ISAs tho...it's my fave song. LOL)

Go Insane - either Washington DC (3-30-93) or NYC (3-31-92) because he does some AMAZING acoustic solos! They have a very midieval flair to them.

I am still deciding which version of Lindsey's Come is the best. You got to have Come on the CD.

Mirage video '82 Chain is without doubt the best version ever.

Yes wonderful Wondergirl, all those ISA's should go on... In fact just an I'm So Afraid CD compilation would be cool. :D

I disagree with Go Insane though.. I don't think you can top the version on The Dance video, he plays it a little differently and somehow the guitar is expressing the song better in that version IMO :sorry:

Here's a couple for ya,

Doing What I Can, NYC 1993
Eyes Of The World, Oakland 1982
I Know I'm Not Wrong, Champaign 2004

LMAO!!!

Thanks for that, it's made me laugh rather too much!

The song "Come", well most versions are pretty awesome except for the 3rd December 2003 Manchester show, where due to some over enthusiastic members of the crowd right in front of Lindsey (Seteca, Wondergirl9847 and myself) LB got too carried away with the moment, started waving his guitar in a rather spastic style and forgot to sing the start of the chorus!! Oops...

LOL, It's my first attempt at Photoshop. I have no clue as to what I was doing. I did make a Lindsey one but did not upload it yet.
By the way I have a ton more pictures, too. :D

Well, this thread has taken a wierd turn.

Come...yes, forgot about that one. I can't think of one that stands out as of right this moment, but any version kicks major a$$!

Yep, an ISA compilation album would be great!

Pattie, that pic is AWESOME!

I agree that the Dance version of GI is terrific and flawless, but if you are talking about solos....nothing beats the two I mentioned, for me, anyways...they make me cry.

My favorite version of ISA remains Largo 1975, although part of that is the exuberant vocal on top of the awesome guitar.

Hi there everyone,

Thanks for the welcomes and the input. I got a little lost on all the Come talk but, still it was very interesting and valuable information.

So far what I am trying to is find my favorite version of Go your Own way
(Torn Between LIB, Sydney Tusk Tour, and the version on the "live!" album).

In addition my favorite wildest version of I'm so afraid. I would love to hear the Enviroment version if someone could send it to me at "weerasekera at gmail.com" or anything else you think would make a great addition to my collection.

Thanks again everyone,

What a nice community you have here!

Regards,

Neil

A little confused as to whether we're talking about I'm So Afraid, Come, Go Insane or Gypsy. Any version of ISA is amazing. This done live as we all know makes it hard to refrain from jumping on the stage with him even at the risk of being removed by those annoying security people. Go Insane would have to be the Dance version for me. Come? Oh, come come come.. What you all said made me cringe and laugh at the same time. Better to be "in" than "on"? The Live in Boston version of Come really does send shivers, but there's nothing like seeing it live. I would love to hear an ISA compilation if anyone has the means to put one together. I would pay. :xoxo:
