I just got the Atlanta version of this song and wow, it's just beautiful. Now, I'm listening to the Centerstage version.

I love the la-la...during the verses. This seems to be an overlooked song, I think.

And...of course, the "Summer Place" riff he does at the end totally rules.

You can get the Atlanta version here.

For the longest time this was my very favorite track on Cradle. Now, I have allowed a few other songs in to tie with it, but it's still an all-time favorite amongst all of his material. I really love the lyrics. They seems like they're very personal to him and his life, but I also find that they're very personal to me and mine.

The first time I played OOTC, this song and Soul Drifter immediately stood out as favorites. Great stuff.

I agree that it seems to be one of Lindsey's overlooked songs... but it's definitely one of my all-time faves.

Like Les, it also has a lot of personal meaning for me. :)

Count me in as a big YDOYD fan.
It definitely stands out in OOTC as a really breezy feelgood song. A nice encouraging sentiment, too!

One of my favorites from the first time I heard OOTC.

I especially love "All those faces are cry-ah-ah-ing" in the first verse!

I like the verses a lot....the chorus is so-so. Overall, an excellent piece of work. :D

On that site, there is a CD posted as the pre-Westwood One show, sort of a rehearsal, where Lindsey tries out his songs really for the first time in front of an audience. Apparently he does the song "Wrong"... anybody have a copy of this that they are willing to share? I'd love to hear it. It's funny how he didn't do that song or Countdown for the OotC tour, when they were two of the "big" singles. And anyone who's seen Countdown from Letterman knows that song rocks out hard!!

well actually the day I brought home Cradle this song was by far my least favorite. And for a long time it was the only song I disliked. Now it's a big favorite on the CD for sure. Now the only song I dislike is a song that was originally a big favorite- Surrender the Rain. Go figure.

Soooooooooo much better than the abba-like slick studioversion.

for some reason I have been listening to this song and Street of Dreams continuously over the past few days. They make for a very interesting combination.
