...doesn't make you want to blow your head off?!?!
Seriously, it's OK, but after a while I either want to stick my head in the oven or toss the radio out the window. The one exception for me is:
O Holy Night
Especially by either Celine Dion (I know, I know! :o I'm not a fan, but she can hit that last high note like nobody else) or Martina McBride (the girl can sing!)
How about you?

Two I never get tired of are "White Christmas" by Bing Crosby and "That Spirit of Christmas" by Ray Charles.

Last Christmas I never grow tired of for some reason. Also, a lot of choral music meant for this time of the year I really enjoy. However, Simply Having A Wonderful Christmas Time makes me want to scream.

Well - most Christmas songs make me want to hurl...but I've discovered I'm very picky about my Christmas music - I like the ones I grew up with - I hate when artists get all "creative" with the songs and change em around hahaha...
I do, however, like Martina McBride's O'HOly Night

Feliz Navidad, Happy Xmas War Is Over, Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas, Holly Jolly Christmas, Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree, Silent Night (Stevie's only). With the "classics" it usually just depends who's singing it, though there are a couple that I HATE unequivocally, like Little Drummer Boy.
ETA God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen. I ignore the words but love the melody.

I'm all about Carol of the Bells. Soo pretty. I'm partial to whichever one was in Home Alone.

I only like Classical Christmas music sang by choirs, or other non famous people. I hate all new Xmas songs. White Christmas, Jingle Bells, Santa Claus is Coming (except w/Stevie) etc - hate them all.
I love: Angels We Have Heard On High
Little Drummer Boy
O Come all Ye Faithful
Joy to the World
O Holy Night
Good King Wenceslas
God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen
various others along these same lines. don't care much for Silent Night, though.

"Winter Wonderland" by Eurythmics from the Very Special Christmas CD. I've even been known to pull it out in the summertime when I need a quick Annie fix.
The only other piece of Christmas music I can actually stand repeated listenings of is "Sleigh Ride" (instrumental) on this Boston Pops Christmas CD I have. And that's only because my high school band performed the same arrangement, and I got to make the whip crack sound when one of our percussionists came down with food poisoning right before the concert. It just brings up funny memories, I guess...

I've been listening to 'Ella Wishes You a Swinging Christmas.' I like Xmas songs, just not the religious ones, seeing as how I'm a Buddhist and all. :)

Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas. I fell in love with this song hearing it performed by Judy Garland in Meet me in Saint Louis, even if the version that always moves me more is the one by Bing Crosby, the master.

Pretty much the only ones I can take anytime are
"Happy X-mas (War is Over)"
"I'll Be Home for Christmas" (Reba's version only)
"Last Christmas" (Wham or the Darren Hayes cover)
"Christmas Through Your Eyes" (Gloria Estefan)
"Merry Christmas...If That's Okay" (Mystery Science Theater 3000)
Sometimes I feel like "White Christmas" and some of the traditional songs like "O Holy Night," but I tire of them quickly, and not being Christian makes me feel strange about listening to traditional Christmas songs. They have beautiful music, but it almost feels wrong to me to listen to them and enjoy but not actually believe what they're saying.

My roommate played me Simon & Garfunkel's Silent Night and the 7:00 News last year and it completely blew me away! It's such a powerful song, with clips of news stories about the Vietnam war etc. in the background. It's a bold song with a really strong message. You all should listen to it if you've never heard it!

"Christmas Time Is Here"-Steve Vai
"Blue Christmas"-Joe Perry
"O Come, O Come Emmanuel"-Neal Schon
"God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen"-John Sykes
"Carol Of The Bells"-Al Di Meola

You know I'm not religious, but traditional Xmas music doesn't bother me for some reason. I guess it's because I grew up listening to it and it brings back warm, fuzzy family memories. It's the only type of music I can listen to that has religious overtones, though. I can't stomach gospel or contemporary Christian music. (I also still put up a tree every year and exhange gifts with family and friends. But those aren't Christian inventions anyway, so . . . )

Breath of Heaven
O Holy Night
Grown Up Christmas List
Sweet Little Jesus Boy
"Grown Up Christmas List"...UGH! Not a fan at all. It actually ranks up there with "Wonderful Christmastime" as one of my least favorites. I think I heard this song sung by one of the youth in our church WAY too many times through the years during our Living Christmas Tree thing. Much too sappy for my liking, reminds me of "Imagine."
But, much love for "Sweet Little Jesus Boy." There was this one woman in church that would sing this every Christmas Eve, and she had such a terrible voice, but my sister and I would LOVE to hear her sing it. She hasn't done it in several years, and we miss it. The male choir director usually does it now, but it's just not the same. BTW, I haven't heard the Rebecca St. James version. Does she do it with the poor grammar (We didn't know who you was, etc.); I really prefer it that way. I might try to find an MP3 of it.

We didn't know who you was...no. She says it the correct way. LOL I didn't even know the song until I got Rebecca's Christmas album. She does an amazing job! I love to crank that song up really loud because it's very powerful.
I like Amy Grant singing Grown Up Christmas List. I love Amy singing just about anything tho. :) I adore her.
Last Christmas by Wham is AWESOME! I forgot to put that on on my list. George is another voice I adore and can listen to sing anything.
It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year by Andy Williams is another one I like. I like his voice. :)
Lemme add another song....O Come All Ye Faithful. I remember singing that at rest homes during Thanksgiving when I was a kid. You know, when you are young, it's like, "Yay, we get to leave school!" but now that I think back on it, it was really great to sing for the people. They would clap and smile at these bratty kids who sang for them. It was a cool thing to do.

I have the Malibooz Christmas CD called ""A Malibu Kind of Christmas" Walter Egan (you all know who he is I hope) is one of the members of the band and they play I guess you call it surf music. If you like The Beach Boys type of music you might like this CD.
I can't wait for the holiday season just to play this CD.
I have a lot of Xmas music and this weekend I have to find it all to make a mix.
I am going to put Stevie's Silent Night on there even though it's not a fave.
Christine's version of Coventry Carol.
Queen's "Thank God It's Christmas"
Billy Squier "Christmas is the Time to say I Love You."
The Pretenders "2000 Miles"
Eagles "Please Come Home for Christmas" and "Funky New Year"
The Waitresses " Christmas Wrapping"
Bare Naked Ladies and Sarah McLaughlin (sp) "God Rest ye Merry Gentlemen"
I have Chris Isaak's new CD and I am going to put the song with SN on the mix and I will have to see what else.
I have a few Gary Hoey Xmas CDs which are great I will pull a few from those.
I also have a Brian Setzer Xmas Cd and I will have to go through that one. too.

I love O Holy Night, by practically anyone, but esp by Celine and Martina McBride (what a voice!). That's my favorite christmas song.
(hmm I just looked back and Paula had said the same thing...LOL)
For some reason I also love Carol of the Bells though I don't really know any of the damn words.
Nat King Cole's Christmas is for Children album is also a long time favorite. That one was always playing in my house. The Christmas Song is a classic.

OK, after reviewing the thread, I'll also throw in:
Baby Please Come Home - U2
Please Come Home For Christmas - Eagles or Jon Bon Jovi
I did get Chris Isaak's Christmas CD & I like it a lot, actually.
So, it's a grand total of 4 tunes that I can tolerate.

"Lo, How A Rose E're Blooming" and "The Wexford Carol" are the best for me. "Snow" by Loreena McKennitt picks up second place after the first place tie.
"O Holy Night" by Celine Dion is the worst piece of **** xmas song I have ever heard in my life. That chick has no restraint. I am a complete and total pacifist and very afraid of firearms- but, I swear, that song drives me towards getting a 357 Magnum and firing it at whatever speaker is playing that swill.
