I was at a gala tonight and met Leslie Jordan - he is about 4'10" and EXACTLY like the characters he plays, which include Karen's tiny nemesis "Beverley Leslie" on Will and Grace (I smell Gin and regret - why it must be Karen Walker) - the one who played pool with Karen in a bet to get Rosario, etc.
He also played Brother Boy in Sordid Lives.
I took a picture with him sitting on my knee - again, I am 6'4"

I always pictured Deb and you both as being tall. Hmmm.... I'm only 5'2" and I'm used to being shorter than everyone.

He's in the funniest Will and Grace ever in that episode where Karen is at the party by herself drinking gin at the bar. I forget the event but their banter was hilarious!

I forgot (AND HOW COULD I  ) that Celia Costas - Producer of Angels in America (http://www.hbo.com/films/angelsinamerica/cast/costas.html ) - was at this soiree as well - she received an award for the show. She was an INCREDIBLE woman. I got to talk to her for about five minutes. I was amazed at her wit, intelligence and willingness to talk about her work in a polite way. She was also very funny. I asked her waht Streep was like and she responded she was a doll, etc. I asked her if Streep liked doing the three characters and she said yes. I then said Streep looked like Bea Aurther (Streep - http://www.hbo.com/films/angelsinamerica/cast/streep.html - Bea - http://www.beatricearthur.com/ ) and she laughed. What an amazing and great woman I am proud to have met!!!!!!!!

I have not met THAT many people and the ones I have met have been ususally in a social setting that seems to warrant civility.

You can be short and not too swift, either. I fell flat on my face going down the stairs to the underground when I was in London. I thought, "Yep, I'm representing America well!"

I was projected to be 5'6" at age two. So much for scientific prediction. Although if I would have been taller, I'd probably have much more trouble...I have scoliosis.

yeah - I don't know what happend - everyone else in my family is tall - except for my mom - guess my sister and I have her to thank for our short plumpness
I remember being tested in middle school for scoliosis...but have never actually known what it is...
And yeah - I'm not so swift either - I went to the symphony a couple of weeks ago - and was wearing some high heeled boots - with a lovely dress...well the bathroom was down a flight of stairs - so I happily went downstairs - but one boot got caught on the stair carpet...i totally fell down the stairs...it was really embarassing..

My mom is only 5'1", so I know I take after her.
Scoliosis is the curvature of the spine....mine has a slight "S" shape. In more severe cases, you have to wear a back brace or have surgery. Since mine was mild, and because I'm short and had stopped growing by the time I was diagnosed, I really don't have to do anything.

Oh man that must have really sucked. My roommate fell down a flight of stairs in her bridesmaid dress, the hazards of fashion...
