Does anyone have one? I've been thinking of getting one and would like some advice on what to look for and what not. Anyone help would be appreciated! :wavey:

The screen size and type is the most important. Depending on your needs, I say go for the largest screen with the greatest clarity. Also, almost all now can be used in your house on your t.v. just like a "regular" DVD player. I would, however, wait until after Christmas for the sales, unless you see a good sale now. Also, some of the grocery stores around here have them for sale every now and then. So, your triple coupon thing might work.

Finally, if you get a great deal on a well known brand and it is not as hi def as one $100's of $$$ more, I would go for the deal if it still suits your needs.

On Amazon, they have a Panasonic 8" player for, I believe, $150 and I thought that was a FANTASTIC deal. Plus, it's region-free, so it'll play PAL discs. I was going to go with that, but CVS has a no-name brand player for only $99 this week. I'm torn. I have about $30 in CVS ExtraBucks, so it would only be around $70. It's only 5", though, and only plays region one discs.

We,, that is a lot of money and depending on their return policy, you can always try out the CVS one for prob. 30 days. Certainly by then, you should know if it will suit your needs

That Panasonic one is nice though and that diff. in those screens is HUGE IMO  That is also a good price.

Ah decisions!!!!!

I'll probably get the one from Amazon and just get one of those six hour battery packs with my CVS ExtraBucks. I have jury duty next week, so I'm getting it at just the right time.

Depends on the question. I was called in as a potential juror on a case that involved an old lady's neighbor killing her cat for "fun." You can bet that I ranted a bit. And was promptly dismissed. ;)

If someone kills a cat for fun, god knows what they'll do. Great, you just ruined my day...I'm sickened...

I've got a Panasonic 7'' screen for my portable DVD player, and it's great. It wasn't too expensive either. I would assume the larger screen would be even better. I use mine all the time, whether it be in the car, on vacation, around the house, etc... I love it. only thing is, the speakers on the player suck. Gotta have some nice headphones to go with the player.

Oh that's awful. Was what you said anything like, "Fry the bastard!" ;)

I served once and it was one of the most interesting things I have ever done. It amazed me how many jurors were willing to come to a conclusion without being able to state why. It was a DUI and we convicted. I got to be the person to read the verdict and was paranoid that I was going to be hurt afterward!

I said that anyone who killed an animal for "fun" was sick bastard and that they should be killed for "fun" as a result. I felt like saying maybe we should skin his hide and produce a nice coat to debut on the runways.

I'd love to serve, but it's so hard to find things that you can be objective about, you know?

Yeah, I just want one for stuff like jury duty or if I'm having my car worked on, stuff like that. I'm sure I'd pull it out in the middle of the night while I'm in bed and can't sleep, though.

Me too. I'm 99.5% sure that my neighbors killed my cat. Their boys always have a BB gun out in the yard, and I know they'd bitched about her wandering through their yard(I live in the country). When I found her, she was still alive, but had a small hole in the top of her head. She died a few minutes later.
What can I do? If I retaliate in any form, I think they'd start picking off my other outdoor cat.
Bastards. Anything other than a horrendous plane crash is too good for them. :sorry: Not.

Oh I'm so sorry, what the hell is the matter with people? That is so awful, if someone did that to my Mufasa I would be out of my head. Monsters. I'm going to start praying for their bodily harm ;)

OMigod, that makes me sick. Did you tell their parents? I might have to accidentally shoot them with my BB gun. And what kind of lamo cares if a cat walks across their yard? okay, everyone, i don't want to hear anymore animal cruelty stories today, alright? :wavey:

I was close on your quote, lol. I wasn't sure if I really was objective since I knew people convicted of the crime before but I figured I would be as good a juror as any. I did feel a twinge when they asked me if I could be objective but I think I did well. Isn't objectivity impossible anyway according to Einstein? It is something to strive for but very difficult or even impossible to reach.

Thanks. And she was a GREAT cat. Tons of personality. I really miss her.

I've been told by several redneck guys who hunt, that they always shoot any cats they see in the woods. Heartless SICKOS. They have no appreciation....
Off with their heads, I say.

That really is sad - I'm sorry for the death of your cat - what a horrid story :(

My ex-boyfriend was NOT a cat fan at all...and this one cat that belonged to a neighbor was totally neglected and used to use his yard as a litter box- the cat was always trying to get into his house...etc....the cat was NEVEr allowed inside - and then its owners moved and didn't take it with them....

Anyway - my ex hates cats - but would still never harm one...we found more amusing ways to mess with it ;) Like the hose ;)

Kidding...but yeah - sometimes people need to take better care of their pets  I know you can't control where your animals go - but it is annoying to have to clean up cat poo and find new and creative ways to secure the trash because cats keep tearing into it - and don't even get me started on my neighbor's cat that peed in my car....hahah

I would come closer to believing that the FATHER shot her!
I live in a decent neighborhood. The guy that owns the neighbor's house got remarried, moved off, and rented the house to some redneck trucker and his 4 kids. They put the trash back in white trash. I'm just praying they don't live there much longer. :(
And the main reason I didn't retaliate was out of fear that they might do something to my son, I mean dog. I would DIE if they did something to him. He's a housedog, and rarely out of my sight, but I won't take any chances with him.

Hmm, maybe if the owner of the house was aware of the type of people living there he would evict them. Just a thought.

I've told him(we're acquaintence friends, and I speak with him about once a month), BUT, he's not a cat lover either, so as long as he's getting his rent money, he doesn't seem to care. He said, "David, I'll bet if you tried to get along with them..........."
I said, "Todd, they killed my F*CKING cat. That isn't gonna happen! I hope your house burns down with them in it."
I really have no use for people who don't love(or at least tolerate) animals.
