Hopefully I've got the right year there but what did the Mac say when they won the Grammy for album of the year(????...is that it?) for Rumours? Anyone have it transcribed or something?

It was 1977-- and Mick did most of the talking- "Well, the big ones always get shoved forward-- I'd like to take this opportunity in thanking everyone that's done such a lot for us, you up there (God), the record company, and the people that work closely with the band-- thank you very much, we love ya." And Stevie then started to say something like "We'd like--" and then decided to scream "Warners Brothers! Thank you!" at top volume instead. :D

Love those Grammys. I love the absolute look of joy on LB's face when he is up there and Mick is talking; he just glows. I love how darn cute Stevie looks, and Chris' cool crimped hair, and John's burgundy velvet suit. :rolleyes: Love the tense looks on John and Chris' faces while waiting to hear the winner, and then once it was announced, the way they immediately looked at each other.

I think Chris was there w/ her brother, BTW, I think he was on the other side of her. Not sure who that dark haired chick is between Mick and John..maybe Julie but for some reason I don't think so-- she congratulated Mick.

Can you tell I've watched that clip lots of times LOL??

BTW they won 7 Grammys that evening.

Yeah, I've never seen that Grammy show. A mpg clip would be great!

By that time I remember they used to broadcast (in Peru) delayed, and usually on saturdays. Since it was summer, usually I missed grammys cause I always was camping on the beach on weekends. I miss those days. :o

I remember seeing the speech on some Mac related behind the music type show once... I just remember two things... One was John's suit and the other was the amount of hair!!!!!

There was definitely a lot of hair on that stage, w/ Richard and Ken too, and the shaggy beards...LB's big 'fro.. :laugh:

Lindsey's finest moment, I understand they actually got 8 grammys, the other one was for "Best Hair Moment On A Popular Music Album" awarded to Lindsey's 'fro.. :nod: :nod:

Actually I'm ashamed to say I'm not sure of them at all. I think two were album of the year, and best production....I have the info somewhere in my files LOL. I should go dig it up.

Is the guy with the long hair on Christine's right, John Perfect? I always wondered who that was. Also, they misspelled Richard Dashut's name on the screen. It's Dashut not Dashot. :laugh:

By the way, there is a brief clip(though not the entire bit)on the Disney Going Home Special.

Hi Ali-- If you are talking about my trading list, it's video #6 on there. And also a snippet on the Going Home special, as Macfan said. I think the footage is only about two minutes long, it's pretty quick.

It's irritating that they mispelled Richard's name. :p

Not 100% sure the guy is John Perfect, but he does look much like the pics I have of him. Hard to tell w/ the shaggy hair/beards of the 70's; one long haired guy looked just like another LOL.

OK, my darling husband has helped me do some more. These show those terrified looks on Chris, John and Mick's faces while they were waiting to hear the winner-- funny how the people NOT in the band look so happy and relaxed. :laugh: -- then we have that happy glance that j/c shot each other when they won (although the quality is pretty bad on that) and then Mick starting his schpiel.

I have about 5 more I may try to do later...am worn out now LOL.

It seems like this should be available somewhere. I'm a sucker for awards shows, and to see Mac win some? *swoon* I mean, it was televised on a major network, so shouldn't we be able to find it?

Thanks for posting all the pictures, Lis. :) It's hard to tell if that's John Perfect since the only pictures I've seen of him are those in the Tango & BTM tourbooks plus the recent photo you posted in the John/Chris story. But, it could be. The woman sitting between John & Mick does look like John's wife though.
