So I'm a little slow at these things sometimes... I just finished reading "Electric Gypsy" - a story on the life of Jimi Hendrix. I was (mildly) surprised to read that he partied with Judy Wong and members of Fleetwood Mac. There's also a picture of Herbert Worthington holding Jimi in his arms (it's really a cute photo) and a little story about how he helped Jimi from getting mobbed by fans at a concert. I guess it's a small world when you get that far up in the entertainment industry.

Has anyone else read this book? Am I crazy for picking up on things like how he would put scarves over lamps ....and it reminded me of Stevie?

I know I've read somewhere that Peter Green knew Jimi Hendrix....I think he made some comment about how it was so neat to touch Jimi's hair. ;)

Sounds like a cool book. Judy Wong sounds like she was really connected; she knew everybody!

Judy Wong should write a book, bet she has some good stories.

Here are a couple teasers from Electric Gypsy...

The members of Fleetwood Mac and others from the music industry attended an opening party for Jimi Hendrix's recording studio in New York, Electric Lady. Apparently some of the guests trashed the place before he got there. Consequently, he didn't stay long. :D

According to then girlfriend Monika Dannemann, Jimi and she attended Judy Wong's birthday party a few days before he died. The morning Jimi died, Monika phoned Pat Hartley's flat trying to reach someone named Alvenia, Judy Wong answered the call.

I was a mere lass of 11 when it all went down. Being the youngest, there was no shortage of good music in our house... well, garage... my parents weren't super big fans of rock music, but they were open minded enough.

What a story, wow... ! I'm just really, really all the more thankful that everyone from Fleetwood Mac made it through all that.
