You won't be saying that in a few months, so enjoy it while it lasts. :woohoo:

My friend loves hers. No late fees, and all that. Hasn't had any problems.

In the past two months, the competition between online DVD rental sites has gotten enormous. Amazon is now jumping into the fray, just like Blockbuster and Wal Mart. Each one competes for more customers, so they all lower their prices every other month, practically. Expect them to lower again once Amazon debuts. In order for them to make money, they ship out less DVDs to save on postage and the turnaround time is much longer than before. You'll know what I'm talking about later on down the road. The more you rent, the worse it will get eventually.

Just the facts, ma'am. ;)
It's widely known that those are their new money-saving tactics. Go browse DVD message boards like DVDTalk and you'll get all the dirty secrets.

My dad joined Netflix for a free trial thing, and it's totally bogus. You pay like 20 bucks a month and only get like 2-3 videos to watch because of the turnaround in the mail and such.
Pffttt.

Alice is one of Allen's most underrated films. It's a gem.
Have you ever seen Svankmajer's version of Alice (Neco z Alenky)? Why that isn't considered a masterpiece is beyond me. Words cannot describe the beauty of that film. It puts Faust to shame.
Golden Coach is another great film. Renoir outdid himself with that one.

joining Netflix, But I just don't feel this was the way to rent DVD's (I'm afraid to waste money on receiving scratched discs that will not play).
Besides, After finding an electronic device online that removes ALL copyright protection from both VHS/DVD I will stick with my local video store :)

I don't know if I posted this, but Warners stopped copyprotecting discs years ago. Sony just stopped protecting them, too, and MGM and Anchor Bay don't copyprotect. :)

ya posted it...I just like having a device that is able to transfer VHS to DVD without ANY loss of color/quality/sound and it also can enhance the picture quality of any VHS recording when transferred (ie-Not ghosting, false imaging)
What's funny is that BestBuy also carries a similar item for $129.99

Oy, those American Gothic DVDs I bought from eBay sure would benefit from that device.
They do look remarkable for ten year old tapes that were converted to DVD, but they only make me long for an official release even more than before.
