This was my best year yet.

I got...

-a pair of leather pants for $23. Not my favorite color, but I loved the look of them.
-A Panasonic (I think) surround sound system for $80.
-A sandwich maker for $2.50.
-One of those Febreze Scent Stories things for $15. I'll probably give it away for Christmas.
-Tons of DVDs:

David Bowie- A Reality Tour- $8
The Day After Tomorrow- $6
The Simpsons, Seasons 1 and 4 (more gifts)- $13 each
Three of those cheap Warner Brothers DVDs for $7 total
The Cell- $3
The Clearing- $9
Both Stepford Wives (old and new)- $11 for both
Green Acres, Season 1- $9

-Car seat cover for $1.50.
-DVD Recorder/Player for $71
-Three scarves for $3 each.

The only problem I ran into was Circuit City, they were evil. It explictly says that they will match any price and lop off an extra 10%. When I tried to price match, they told me they weren't doing it that morning BECAUSE IT WAS TOO BUSY. I was ready to explode, so I walked off to look aorund some more, but then I went to the service desk and berated all three of the asses that were working. The guy behind me said "You've got it. Make a scene and they'll price match just to shut you up." The manager came out and said it was her fault because she informed the staff that they wouldn't be price matching, but they will now. I told her that she had a nice bait-and-switch operation going and then asked if it was company policy or just this particular store's. I ended up getting all the stuff discounted (she even took my AC MOORE and MICHAEL'S coupons for 50% off single items and gave me 15% extra instead of 10%!) but the website they want you to visit to inform them of your experience will certainly be hit by my computer tonight.

I'm beginning to think they could make a whole (and very successful) reality show about you....that sounded very entertaining

I - *don't hit me* ended up at a Wal-Mart near where I work at around 2pm - it wasn't crowded and I really really wanted You've Got Mail - so I got it for $3.88 and I threw in Dave for the same price cause I"ve never seen it but LOVE Kevin Kline...

So yeah - I didn't do a whole lot of shopping - don't have the energy or $$

Dave is one of the Warner movies I got (along with Goldie Hawn's Swing Shift and Al Pacino's Dog Day Afternoon)! :woohoo: You'll love it. It's a throwback to the old Hollywood romantic comedies.

I'm having an allergy attack, so I feel pretty crummy. A friend and I did venture out this morning for a couple of hours. I got an old fashioned popcorn popper and an indoor water fountain thingie (great description, I know  ) for two of the people on my list. I also picked up my Christmas cards and some wrapping supplies, etc.

By the way, dissention, I think you do your share of helping out the economy. :wavey:

The way I shop, profits dip into the red when I enter stores.

I have $55 dollars for Best Buy from when i got my computer. I am in awe of what i want from that store. I was saving it to get the counter top dishwasher  which i imagined would make my life so much better, (cleaner) judging from how often i don't want to do my dishes. But i decided to see if they had a battery recharger thingy, as i could save a ton of money from not buying batteries, i realized! :D so that's gonna be about the extent of my shopping. if i have money left over, i may get Gwen's solo album, or...a DVD....yep, everything for myself, no Xmas shopping for me! f**ck em! I'm the only child here! :D

I had a 10% coupon, that's why I got it for under nine bucks. :) Most of the time, they don't even check the coupons before scanning them in. It was a 10% coupon off of a twenty dollar purchase.

I didn't hit the sales this morning and judging from the looks of Walmart's main aisle, no one else did either. Usually their piles are down to your knees by the time the afternoon hits, but I saw so many computers and DVD players... I've never seen that many before on black Friday. But we did snag a new light fixture for the kitchen and a bed for my dog... I've never seen him so happy and calm before. At 14 years old he has a right to be lazy... at least he can be a little more comfortable now. :)

My grandmother called yesterday and she said she wanted a CD of some piano pieces for Christmas, so I'm trying to figure out what music toys I need to get that done so I can order them tonight. :D

How did you know I made out at the stores? We totally went behind some clothes racks...

Oh wait.... :o

LMAO!!

I stayed home...where it's nice and quiet...no crowds, listening to my fave songs, working....making cash instead of spending it. Although, I need to go get a few things for my family next week or so. :)

Well, I had to work today so I did not get to go shopping. However, a few of my co-workers got to the stores early and bought cars loads of stuff.
I am sorry but I value my sleep. I heard on the news today that there were people waiting in line since 11PM last night for Best Buy to open. I guess they had a really cheap lap top in their ad.

I am still trying to find a place that has a good deal on cards.

Loro Piana at Sak's Fifth Ave. (the one ON fifth Ave. LOL) for $50. It is a bright blue cashmere (arguably Loro Piana is the finest in the world) sweater. CHA MF'ING CHING - It was regularly like $900. I almost fell over when I saw it. The sales lady - who looked as if she been there for YEARS - was like "Dawwwling - let's ring this up beeefoawre someone upsawires changes their minds" - spoken with a Brooklyn Jewish accent

Strand: Great score--that's my kind of buy! Mmmm---cashmere. I was finally able to find the pair of leather gloves I'd been looking for the past two years ago when I finally got to a SFA a couple of weeks ago while out of town on a business trip. (I have very specific demands regarding leather gloves--they must be silk lined and the longer, so-called four-button length). And I got them on sale too :) Saks is just such a wonderful store. High as hell but. . . . it's just beyond words. The first time I ever set foot in the SFA in NYC I felt like I had found my spirtual home. My friends had to drag me out of there after two hours kicking and screaming.

And Diss--just how many pairs of leather pants do you own?

I am so totally the SAME way about gloves. If I cannot find THE pair - its the $30 Isotoner ones, which are actually FAB. IMO.

I know about SFA on Fifth. THe first time was with my mom. The limo pulled up, we got out, my mother handed me a card WITH ME NAME on it (it was my b-day as it is now or at least on 11/28 - 38  ) at the ripe ole age of like 14 or so and she said "I'll be in the shoe dept - come back in two hours to carry the bags" I was so scared to charge anything - but I got over that REAL quick

My mom is a very special lady and, quite frankly and with a few notable execeptions, they do not make them like that anymore!!!!!

BTW - I could SWEAR Henry Kissenger walked past me today with his security on the way to the elevator

LMMFAO!

I was out at 6:00, and that was too late! I went to Target and got that Leapster for $70, and it had a free carrying case with it. Best deal on those I could find. And, after going to Meijer, Wallyworld, Menards, Kohls, and Old Navy, I found the damn recharger for it for $25 at Best Buy. So, I am a happy mommy. I found a Foreman grill for $39.99 at Kohls for mom (since she burned hers up) and some GIANT bathtowels for $5 a piece. And, (not that I'm prejudice, I'm a white mommy, and I buy white babies) I finally found a white Cabbage Patch Kid too!!! I was guarding that thing with my life. And I bought myself some Julia Roberts movies, (Dying Young, wallyworld, $8), an Old Navy sweatshirt, and a couple other odds and ends to wrap for myself and put under the tree... that's so Sara's not asking me why Santa didn't bring me anything on Christmas morning... :o

It wasen't a bad day. I spend WAYYYY too much money! ;)

I got some wrapping paper at Walgreens today buy one at 1.99 and get 2 free! I also got my cards. I got some at Walgreens (not on sale) and some more at Kmart which were 40% off. Now I just need some stamps. :distress:

I got a shirt for my Dad.There was a sign that said 40% off flannel shirts at KMart. I found one that I liked and was his size. I got to the register and it rang up at full price. I said "I think that is on sale 40% off."
The clerk looks through the ad and tells me that they are NOT on sale. She was looking at some OTHER brand name in the ad. So I had to tell her that YES here is THIS brand 40% off in the ad. She tells me well those are only ones with a hood and NO they are not on sale.
I ask if she can call a manager for me so she does. She describes it over the phone as a T-SHIRT! Dummy! No I say that it is a button down flannel shirt. So anyway I guess the manager told her that YES that brand was all on sale. I finally got the 40% off my Dad's shirt.

Yes, my cards did ring up on sale 1.99 for a box.

Next time if you are out shopping and they give you a hard time about a sale item ask for a manager. Even if it is not on sale it's worth a try to check and maybe they might give it to you anyway. ;)

The fourth season of simpsons is only 34.99 at Circuit City- thats a good deal considering they are usually 50 when they come out.
