Practical, useful, instructional or even inspirational tips you learned from movies:
1. Clemenza's pasta recipe in "Godfather II" is still the best. I've tried it, with a few of my favorite herbs & spices, & it's good enough for a king.
2. "Kramer vs. Kramer" taught me how to make great scrambled eggs.
3. "War Games" taught me how to make free phone calls.
4. "The Empire Strikes Back" taught me the importance of having light speed function regularly checked & serviced.

Threes Company (I know, not a movie) taught me how to separate the egg white from the yolk by juggling the egg between two halves of its shell.

Waterworld taught me that even though you may pour millions and millions of dollars into a project - it still may be a complete and utter piece of S**t.

Oh indeed. I have an eye doctor friend who does custom contacts for movies and tv. He went to the location to ostensibly do a fitting for Costner. The appointment never happened. He waited 6 weeks. My pal got a 6 week tropical vacation and 240k for his trouble.

Troy: Homer was wrong and Patroclus was in fact Achilles' long forgotten cousin
Dogville: Be always kind with blonde runaways
The Towering Inferno: Never go to skycrapers' inauguration parties
The Remains Of the Day: Forget good manners if you ever fall in love with a butler.

More like: even though Jake Weber and Marcia Gay Harden are in it, those facts alone do not make it a good movie and will remind why Brad Pitt is one of the worst actors in the history of film. ;)
Seriously, if I were to make a list of the worst films ever made, Meet Joe Black would be right at the top. Everyone involved was under the influence when they signed on.

After seeing Crimes of the Heart, I never cut my birthday cake in little squares again. And forget plates. Just get a butcher knife, attack the cake with vigor, and grab the piece you want with both hands.
"OOH, how I do LOVE birthday cake..." :woohoo:

Poor girl... hope she knows what she's getting into... Lars "egotist maniac but brilliant" Von Trier can become quite scary with harmless creatures.

And it seemed not to have an end. It's the only movie where I was anxious to see Anthony Hopkins die, to get out finally of that cinema.

John C. Reilly quit the day that Lars slaughtered a live mule on film for Maderlay. Can't say I blame him.

Oh, preach it. I'll elect to have Dubya and his clan over to my home for dinner before I have to view that flaming piece of offle again. Never in my life have I been so bored. There wasn't a single likable thing about that trash of a flick and Brad Pitt was at his most annoying. I couldn't bear it. And after it was all over with, I was just left sitting there, wondering what the point was. The main plot was uninteresting. The sub-plot about Jake Weber trying to get one over on Anthony Hopkins and his business was just plain dull. The one interesting thing about the movie was Hopkins' relationship with his older daughter (Marcia Gay Harden) and they did nothing with it except give us one dull scene between the two of them.
I wanted Freddy to come onscreen and claw every one of them with his hand.

practical tip (From the movie "Clerks") :
Randal: "You know which customers I can do without?"
Dante: "Which?"
Randal: "All of them...This job would be easier if it wasnt for the customers"
