That McNair throws like a girl?

Sporting News (http://fantasy.sportingnews.com/nfl/voices/war_room/20041112.html)

QB Steve McNair/Billy Volek, Titans: There are no winners in a war of losers. When healthy, McNair has played like Stevie Nicks, and Volek has been too inconsistent. It doesn't look like McNair will start, but things could change at the last second. Chicago's defense has been playing better, and the uncertainty of whom is going to play (and how much, and how well) makes either QB a risk.

I'm confused why a sporting article would even mention Stevie Nicks... Is there some player we don't know about named Steve Nicks or something?

I don't know...I would think it means he plays 'tough.' Maybe relating to Stevie's voice or something. ??

McNair was co-MVP last year. He's built his reputation on his toughness. But he's been banged up pretty much all season and unlike previous years he's been playing like it that is when he's even been able to play. Stevie is the definition of a girly, girl. And so I suspect, although I don't know, that the Stevie Nicks crack was an admonishment of him suddenly playing like a girly man.

Still, that seems a strange comparison. I mean, there are more girly girly girls. Although, yours is the best theory so far... :wavey: god, i want to ask whoever wrote that! Now it's boggling my little mind.

I think you read way too much into it there  How can you guys not just get the Steve - Stevie connection, and that Stevie is a girl and that girls don't make great NFL quarterbacks, so clearly this is a very negative article towrds Steve McNair, but not negative towrds Stevie, she was just used.
