You know you spend too much time on the ledge when.......

Your name takes up the majority of spots on the "new posts" section on several forums

You sign your screen name on goverment documents when they ask for your name.

Your number of daily post average is higher than your age

Your 1000'th post came and went and you missed it.

Okay not the best, but lets see what you come up with?

Here's one:

You have to fight the urge to use internet abbreviations in spoken conversation. "Oh, what a jerk, laugh out loud! j/k - I mean...er...haha... just kidding..."

You're tempted to put emoticons on everything. I'll be writing letters or notes, or even assignments to turn in for school, and I'll have to stop myself from putting smiley faces or one of my favorites, the confused smiley. :)

Well I have nothing new to contribute - but these are cracking me UP!!!

ANyway - I'm SO guilty of the above....and it's so bad that when I'm writing e-mail or chatting on AIM - I get all frustrated and the lack of variety in emoticons lol....like I'm always wanting to use the shrug one - or laughing one ....so bad...

I had to write a paper one time and there was a guy named Steve in it. I ended up typing "Stevie" everytime I would type his name so I had to go back through and correct it. :)

Last semester when I was doing a student evaluation thingy for one of my professors, I kept putting smiley faces after all the nice things I said. I can only imagine what the department head thought about that.

OMG...LOL...I can't believe someone else does this! You just made my day!

At work, I have to type the name Kathy Johnston alot and I type it Karen Johnston EVERY time. One of these days, I'm not gonna catch it and it'll go out like that I just know it!

I have the same problem typing the name Steve...it's like I have to will myself NOT to type an i before the e lol...

Also - my bank was fleet - so the web site is fleethomelink or something...EVERY time I type it in I have to delete stuff because I can't seem to type the word fleet without a wood at the end...

Omigod, i'm starting to get irritated that my other internet writings can't use the same emoticons that are on here. I have the emoticons on my brain really bad... :distress: When people are talking to me and they laugh, i just see purple and yellow ball heads.... JK.

LOL Ali! I have done this so many times it's not even funny. I had a student named Steve and I actually typed "Stevie" more than once in e-mails to him. The same happens for Lindsey. I wrote an annotated bibliography for one of my literature classes, and one of the critics I cited was named Linda. I typed Lindsey when referring to her and my sharp-eyed professor caught it. Of course I couldn't tell her WHY I kept writing Lindsey instead of Linda!
