Naughty Naughty Naughty Bill :eek: Actually, I can pretty safely say Le Maher NEVER promised to marry anyone :laugh: even if uttered by "ex-model and airline stewardess "'Coco' Johnsen" :laugh:
Bill Maher sued by ex-girlfriend
LOS ANGELES, California (Reuters) -- A former girlfriend of comedian Bill Maher sued him for $9 million Thursday, saying he enticed her to give up a successful career as a flight attendant with false promises to marry her and buy her a home in Beverly Hills.
Maher's attorney, Adam Streisand, called the breach of contract suit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court by ex-model and airline stewardess Coco Johnsen "frivolous and false" and part of a pattern by Johnsen "to seek retribution" since the end of their short relationship. He predicted it would be thrown out of court.
In the suit, Johnsen said she and Maher met in 2003 and that their relationship lasted about 17 months, during which time she moved in with him and he promised to marry her and buy her a Beverly Hills house that was formerly lived in by Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez.
The suit said that Maher convinced her to give up her 12-year job with Delta airlines so that she could devote herself full-time to him and his career. But the suit added that after Johnsen quit working, Maher became abusive and made "insulting, humiliating and degrading racial comments" about her, as a black woman, and physically threatened and abused her.
She said she ended the relationship in May 2004 and now wants $9 million in compensatory damages.
