View Full Version : Compare nicksfix answers with her interviews.

Yes, just wishing "world peace" sounds like the beauty peagant. Remember how funny was that phrase at "Miss Congeniality" with Sandra Bullock.
I insist about the nicksfix Q&A being so dissapointing. If your compare Stevie's answers with her interviews, it doesn't make sense.
When I read Stevie's interviews, I alwyas think Yeah, this girl has a brain!
But the nicksfix anwers about "world peace" "having hope", etc. She looks far less than the "legally blonde"

But an interview - she's faced with a brief series of questions for probably a set amount of time - and sometimes has the questions before hand...so there's more time and not as many questions...as many have pointed out she's getting a high volume of questions -and from a medium she may not be all that comfortable with...
I've seen a couple of interviews with her that don't seem to be going so well and she is pretty short and to the point on her answers...
I'm in the "at least she's doing something with the Ask Stevie rather than nothing - she doesn't have to do it....

I'd like her to be more specific in some cases too, but seeing now that she's giving new answers every week, I can only thank her for keeping this channel open for the fans. :)

I'm going to ask her if she noticed that Stand Back sounds a lot like Little Red Corvette and see what she says.

Also keep in mind that these questions are submitted to Stevie in written form...and I'm pretty sure she writes the replies back. I don't think I would be very verbose with written responses, either.
If she were in a conversation, I think her answers would be a lot more in-depth.

Count me in to the group who is thankful that STevie is doing ANYTHING. I would rather have these short answers than her do nothing, like the other band members (minus John of course, who gave fabulous Q and A answers but his Q and A is only going to be several weeks long, not indefinately)
At least she appears to be participating in her own website on some level and I wont say small level because she included very personal journal entries. Like I said above, I give her props for taking the time to answer any questions, she could be like Lindsey and Mick and just do nothing at all.

Thank you! I'm thinking, if she's gonna say stuff like that, i could do without! :)

Well, but do you really gain any insight from what she says? do you feel like you know stevie better? Do you feel like she explains things, or really lets you have a glimpse of the process?
I mean, i don't care one way or another - but, if it's really so troublesome and time consuming to her to be honest or imformative about answering the question, then i would rather not bother her with it
I mean, don't get me wrong, i appreciate her "effort" if she is making any, but...

In some of the beginning questions she was a lot more detailed than now...but a lot of it can be blamed on some of the idiotic questions people have asked...
When someone says "Who are you favorite new bands/artists?"
She says "Maroon 5."
What is she supposed to say ? "Maroon 5, I really love the way they sound. I just sit in my house sometimes playing 'this love has taken its toll on me' over and over. They really and truly are good. Did I mention I liked them?"

hahaha - seriously...
That's true - a lot of the questions can be answered briefly - that's something that they try and pound into us not to ask interviewees questions that can be answered so shortly and simply because we don't get good sound bytes that way etc...
Anyway - I don't know - I think this is an instance of if ya don't like her answers don't read them  What good does it do to sit around an complain about her short answers?
BTW - I was very excited she said Maroon 5 because I enjoy them a lot as well :D

Well, I'd do the same, his latest album sucks and the setlist of his tour was a joke... ;)
I know what you mean David, but it's nice for me to know that Stevie besides resting, writing new songs, drawing or whatever she's doing these days, she's also dedicating some time to that Q&A, at least, as we say in Italy, we know she's alive and fights on our side . Then, who knows, since she's been so receptive before about other topics, maybe she would decide sooner or later to indulge a little more in her prose for those answers. :D

Here's the answer: If our complaints have some decent length & bulk to them, they serve the purpose of spurring entertaining conversation among fans here on this message board (which is, I hope, what we're doing).
It's all about conversation, which is all about connection. Whether Stevie is actually connecting is a bit of a riddle.
But then Stevie is often a bit of a riddle!

Yeah, I'm glad there is a "Ask Stevie" section in the nicksfix. That's ok, but anyway I'm dissapointed with her answers.
Specially when I compare with John McVie answers from the Penguin Q&A. Yes, sometimes he answers very short, but he is always cool. He writes more personal. That's why we suspect it's Stevie's assistant who is answering.
And I'm sure John got a lot of questions too.
