There are three shows I was and still am a fan:
Friends
The Nanny
The Munsters
The Flinstones
I don't get tired of watching them

But there are shows I loved to watch, I was a die hard fan. And now when I see them again, the magic is gone. Sometimes I even get bored and change for anything else:
Moonlighting
Wonder Years
Cybill

What about you

3 I still Love:

Addams Family (Love the series & Charles Addams animated drawings that appearred in the New Yorker magazine)

The Munsters (Herman rules!!!)

Inu Yasha (Never get tired of this classic Anime)

3 I now Hate:

Star Trek (Used to care...But now I find all the Trek series annoying)

The Simpsons (Used to be a MAJOR diehard fan...Now I pray for the FOX mercy killing because IMO it ran out of ideas!)

Late Night with David Letterman/The Tonight Show with Jay Leno (I find neither as funny as they used to be...Thank GOD for Conan O'Brien!!!)

I still love All in the Family, I Love Lucy, Family Feud. Maybe the Wonder Years too. And Sex and the City reruns.

Almost every other show I can think of that i used to like would bore me now!

I still like:
Heart to Heart, Perry Mason, original Buggs Bunny, Profiler reruns

Three's company lost a bit of magic, compared to what i thought at age 8.

That's my problem with the Simpsons now... it's TOO joke-y, and they've turned the characters into such farces of what they used to be. Homer used to have a heart, and was so much more than what he is now- a one-dimensional idiot. I haven't watched the Simpsons in years, I feel dumber when I do.

TV shows I still love and watch on TV, DVD, and video:

Golden Girls- Just as funny today as it was then. Though the jokes about "The Bonfire of the Vanities" are a bit dated.
Mork and Mindy: I am not a big Robin Willaims fan, but I have to give this show props. Love Pam Dawber.
American Gothic: One of my all-time favorites, I can't believe it was cancelled after one season. One of the best shows ever created and I <3333 Jake Weber.
Picket Fences: Another one fo the best. My favorite episode was when the mayor of Rome had a cow impregnated with her egg and gave birth to her baby.
The Practice: Best law show ever.
Melrose Place: HUGE Melrose fan. I know every episode by heart and have fond memories of the old Melrose viewing parties.
Farscape: This show is addictive. Funny, thrilling, and SMART.
Whoopi: I love Whoopi, folks.

I used to love The Nanny, but them damned Lifetime reruns made me sick of it. I can only take that voice for so long. And it bugs me to no end that the kid who played Brighton started going bald as he got older on the show.

Harry Shearer and another voice actor (I cannot remember the other person but I believe it is the woman who talks for Marge) said that the show has ran out of ideas over 4 years ago (About the same time I quit watching) and is just surviving because of "Fox's/Matt Groening's greed"!

Can't relate. But, as long as ****s funny, i don't care whether it has a heart or not. In fact, I like when sappiness is kept out of my shows. :D More jokes, keep em comin. Also, the simpsons is very clever with making jokes about society still, and i can't get enough. But then, i would never, ever watch gilmore girls, so, we probably have different tastes... :D

My mom and I used to watch this show! Gary Cole is cree pee...and Lucas Black is greatness. I think people treated this just like Twin Peaks, the mysteries didn't get solved so they became impatient. What else is new?

Golden Girls rule...I watch it sometimes and it still cracks me up.

Well, I grew up with a VERY healthy diet of TV. LOL I used to watch everything, Mr. Ed, Munsters, Flying Nun, Gidget, Knight Rider, A-Team, Different Strokes, Addams Family, Andy Griffith Show, Wonder Years, Cosby Show, Knots Landing, Falcon Crest, I Dream of Jeannie, Quantum Leap, Dark Shadows (the 90's version), The Outsiders, Head of the Class, Growing Pains, I mean, seriously, we could be here for days...months. LOL

ER has grown tiring, I use to never miss it.
Friends was great, but I grew tired of that too.
The Nanny, agree, I use to love it, but now, eh.

Ha. The voice actors are just as greedy. They get a pay raise every year. If they didn't like the direction the show was going in, they could have left when they're contracts were over instead of pushing for another contract that doubled their salary.

I will always be a fan of Friends. I used to watch That '70s Show and Less Than Perfect faithfully everyweek, but lately it seems that the shows are stagnent. I love That '70s Show for seasons 1-5, but once Laurie (Lisa Robin Kelly) left again, it's become really boring and trite. I can tell Eric is wearing a wig and what's up with Donna being a blonde? :distress: She was better as a foxy redhead! ABC moved Less Than Perfect to a Friday night...which doesn't work for me (and I'm too lazy to remember to tape it anymore). I'm also still a bit miffed at Sara Rue for dissin' Stevie

Thank goodness I get Comedy Central included in my free basic TV! Yay for Dave Chappelle, Reno 911! and South Park!

if I was a digruntled voice actor on a show I feel that ran out of ideas I wouldnt ask for a contract renewal  But I agree with ya about the voice actor's greediness...They should have to see how much Anime voice actors are paid, But "Anime is below them."

CBS said they cancelled it because it was too dark and didn't fit in their line-up. First they kill off Picket Fences and replace it with American Gothic, only to kill that one a year later. And now they're airing Dr. Vegas in that time slot.

American Gothic SO needs to be put on DVD, all 22 episodes. There were actually four episodes that never aired, much to my surprise, and they were aired on Sci-Fi Channel a couple of years ago. My, I loved that show. Every actor was greatness on it; Sarah Paulson, Paige Turco, Gary Cole, Lucas Black, and especially Jake Weber. I want the freakin' DVD so badly, my tapes are literally worn out.

I have seasons 1-6 on DVD and am not-so-patiently awaiting seasons 7-9....I LOVE that show so much - even more now that my favorite episode have made it to DVD (the ones where Laura meets and falls in love with Almanzo :) )

Anyway others I still love:

-I Love Lucy
-The Golden Girls - I agree, diss about some of the dated references but damned if that show isn't still one of the funniest ever....
-The Cosby Show
-My So Called Life

don't like so much anymore:

-Three's Company -I agree with Amber - not as great as I found it at 8 :)
-Roseanne - got a bit tired of it...

See, I thought Roseanne was one of the most realistic shows ever made (up until it got stupid with them winning the lottery). It's just so real and funny at the same time. I loved it then and I still love it now! My favorite one was when Becky farted in class.

American Gothic was awesome. A friend of mine has a great Lucas Black imitation and knows that whenever he says "Someone's at the door" that I get all creeped out. Did anyone see Friday Night Lights? Lucas Black is all grown up, it's very weird.

If I just wanted to watch something that was "funny," I'd watch Everybody Loves Raymond or something awful like that. The Simpsons was always more than a comedy to me, and to a lot of people. I'm just really dissatisfied with the way it's been the last four or five years. It just feels like a lot of cheap laughs. As for Gilmore Girls- it makes me laugh more than pretty much any other show on TV, aside from maybe Scrubs. I always figured it was awful- a show about a mom and daughter on the WB who talk like Dawson's Creek? But it's incredibly intelligent. The creator was actually one of the head writers for Roseanne. Eh. Different strokes for different folks.

the basis for South Park was around since the mid 80's (Pre-dating the Simpson's) when Trey Parker/Matt Stone created similar characters to the modern South Park characters during their school years trying to find a niche that would/could get 'em noticed...

Personally "Love Is Hell" (Matt Groening's Original comic strip) invented the Simpson's...And was MUCH funnier in how inventive it could be with the problems of modern society.

Is it still not out on DVD? I haven't seen any of those episodes in ages.

I don't even know who owns the rights to it, I'll have to get one of my tapes out and look during the credits. I believe it's Warners and they suck when it comes to shows on DVD.

Will and Grace (but guest spots are annoying me)
Everybody Loves Raymond

No longer like:
Three's Company - my brother and I watched it every night as kids and when we were hanging out recently I thought it might be fun to watch it, but it's unwatchable.
That 70s Show (I also LOVE the earlier shows)
Bewitched - dated, looking forward to the movie though

New shows I like:
Joan of Arcadia, although the level of drama is crazy.
The Apprentice, some of these people do the dumbest things and it makes you wonder how they were picked for the show!

I HATE Syd's sister. So, so stupid. Supposedly there's going to be some major tension between Syd and SpyDaddy this year. I'm still wondering what the end of the season finale was all about. If the sister goes away, Sark is around in CONCENTRATED doses (NOT a series regular), and Jennifer keeps those vixen bangs, I'll be happy.

I'm still loving Lost, but if it continues to mess with the quality of Alias, I'll be unhappy. Supposedly we're going to have a JJ block, though, on Wednesdays- it seems pretty set that Alias is going to move into the spot after Lost on Wednesdays, with The Bachelor moving to Mondays. Blah blah I love Alias.

Hey -ya never know! Who would've though LHOTP would be successful on DVD - but apparently it's pretty popular - though I still get laughed at when people see them on my shelf

I used to watch this with my Mom when I was a kid every week, religiously. And every week we cried, it was too funny! I didn't realize it was on DVD! DD, your taste in shows/books is too cute!

I don't like the way they messed with the whole family dynamic of Syd, Jack, and Irina. It just totally killed the thrid season for me. It should be the Spy Trio, nothing more.

My problem with Lost is that nothing happens. Absolutely NOTHING happens each week. The character backgrounds are incredibly dull, save the KOREAN ( ;) ) woman's story.

If Lena Olin would come back... the show could get back to kicking ass. I did LOVE, unlike everyone else, the character assassination of Vaughn last year. I hate Sydney & Vaughn. I'm a nerdy closet Sark/Sydney shipper...hell, Sydney & Weiss is fine too. Anyone but dumb Vaughn. Yuck. Wish she'd really killed him when she stabbed him.

My favorite of the background stories on Lost was Locke's. I'm curious how they'll do Sawyer's tonight.

And thanks re: Punky Brewster, but I have a good copy. I work with the guys at Shout Factory and made them send me a new one. I got such crap about it, but hey. It's important.

How 'Lost' Careered Into Being a Hit Show
By JOE RHODES

OS ANGELES, Nov. 9 - The speed with which ABC's Wednesday night breakout hit drama "Lost" went from a network executive's half-baked suggestion to one of the most elaborate and expensive pilots ever filmed was brain blurring.

Determined to see his idea into the fall lineup, Lloyd Braun, then head of ABC Entertainment, brought together J. J. Abrams, the producer of the funhouse-mirror spy drama "Alias,'' and Damon Lindelof, a writer for "Crossing Jordan,'' to kick around his idea about plane crash survivors stranded on an island, a notion that he freely admitted was inspired by the reality show "Survivor.'' The result has been a show among the top 10 this season.

"I met Damon for the first time on a Monday," Mr. Abrams remembered. "By that Friday we had written a 20-page outline. And they green-lit the pilot on Saturday. At that point, we didn't even have a script, but in less than 12 weeks we had to start shooting."

That wasn't the hard part. And transporting the wreckage of an L-1011 jetliner to the show's location on Oahu may have been daunting, but doable. But of all the logistical nightmares that deadline represented none were more daunting than finding actors for the unusually large and internationally diverse ensemble cast - as the parts were still being written.

"It was insanity," said the casting director, April Webster, who had worked with Mr. Abrams on "Alias." "The characters kept changing. Every few days they'd call up and say, 'It looks like there's another one.' "

Because there were so many parts to cast - 14 major characters and dozens of background actors whose primary job is to walk around dazed on the beach until their story line comes to the fore - and only a three-week window to cast them, Ms. Webster put out the equivalent of an all-points bulletin. Calls were made to agencies in London, Sydney, New York, Toronto and points between.

"We were looking at tapes from all over,'' she said, and complicating the matter was the need to put together a cast at a time when most network pilots were already shooting. And whoever signed on for "Lost'' had to commit to working and living on Oahu for the duration of the series.

Working off their original 20-page outline, Mr. Abrams and Mr. Lindelof had ideas about the show's vibe - "Gilligan" meets "X Files," strangers on a plane, mysterious island - and who the characters would be: the hero with a secret, the plucky-but-haunted heroine, the stuck-up girl, the affable dude, the menacing rogue. But everything else was still up in the air, even as actors were auditioning.

"We were writing audition scenes because we hadn't had time to finish the actual script," Mr. Abrams said.

But as actors came in to audition, something fascinating happened, he recalled. "They would inspire us to take characters in a direction that we wouldn't have come up with on our own," he said.

The result was a radical reimagining of some of the original characters. Charlie, the burned-out English rocker played by Dominic Monaghan, was originally envisioned as a middle-aged businessman with a drug problem. Sawyer, the troublesome American played by Josh Holloway, was going to be a New Zealander. And Jack, the heroic (so far) spinal surgeon played by Matthew Fox, was going to be much older. And since he was also meant to die in the first episode, a one-shot appearance, high-priced movie stars like Michael Keaton and Aaron Eckhardt were being considered for the part.

Some well-known actors not usually associated with prime-time television, Ms. Webster said, were attracted by Mr. Abrams's reputation and intrigued by the nontraditional premise, which is how they managed to get Mr. Monaghan, a hot property after playing Merry Brandybuck in the "Lord of the Rings" films; Naveen Andrews, best known for his performance as Lt. Kip Singh in "The English Patient"; and Harold Perrineau, coming off his appearance as Link in "The Matrix" trilogy and critical raves for his stage performance in "Top Dog/Underdog."

The cast also includes Terry O'Quinn, a frequent "Alias" guest star, as the philosopher-hunter Locke, and Jorge Garcia, whom Mr. Abrams and Ms. Webster happened to see on an episode of "Curb Your Enthusiasm" the night before his audition, as the imperturbably mellow Hurley. For the executives of the show, the most intriguing breakout star may turn out to be Yunjin Kim, who grew up on Staten Island and attended the High School of Performing Arts in Manhattan but then returned to her South Korean homeland to become a major Asian cinema star.

Ms. Kim originally auditioned for the part of Kate, the female lead, but Mr. Abrams decided immediately he wanted to write another part just for her. "We had thought about having a couple that didn't speak English before she came in," Mr. Abrams said, "but when she came in, we knew we had to have her on the show. And we started coming up with a story for this woman and then her husband."

"I walked in and, obviously, I speak Korean, and the next day they said they were going to write a role for me," said Ms. Kim, who plays Sun, a seemingly timid woman who planned to leave her husband on the day they boarded the ill-fated plane. "I was, like, 'Hey, I don't even need to read a script.' The fact that they would be so open and excited about me, that was a huge compliment."

The most difficult role to cast, in fact, turned out to be Kate. "We had master lists on the Kate character that were 12 to 13 pages long," Ms. Webster said, "which translates to more than 200 actresses who we least checked on their availability."

"We had seen some incredible actresses," said Bryan Burk, who shares the executive producer credit with Mr. Abrams and Mr. Lindelof. "'But J. J. kept saying, 'You're gonna know when she comes in, you're gonna know.' Which I thought was just his craziness. But then she came in. And we knew."

"She" was Evangeline Lilly, a virtually unknown Canadian actress who got the part, on a last-minute audition tape, almost out of nowhere.

Mr. Abrams seemed particularly pleased that the cast is not all perfect cheekbones and "Baywatch" bodies, although there are certainly plenty of those. "The show is about an international flight that crashes somewhere in the Pacific," he said, "so the cast is going to look more like the world looks and less like 'Beverly Hills 90210.' "

Not that they're done with the casting, even now. There are flashback episodes that have to be populated, and most of the 46 characters who survived the crash haven't been seen. The longer "Lost" stays on the air - and with an average of 18 million viewers per episode so far, it will undoubtedly be around for a while - the more likely it is that new faces will appear.

In other words, Mr. Abrams said, there's plenty of room to develop more characters without a need for outrageous plot turns. There's no need, for instance, to have another plane crash.

"No," he said, laughing. "Although I wouldn't rule that out."

I love Northern Exposure :blob2: The town they use to film that series is about three hours from my hometown. The show is really how alot of people in my area are. haha Elaine Miles who plays Marilyn, the receptionist is a hoot :)

I never get tired of The Nanny. I love the characters of Fran, Niles, Yetta and CC :]

When it is a rainy day, nothing is better than watching old Leave it to Beaver and I Love Lucy shows. I never get tired of these.

Wish Florence Henderson, Jay Leno, David Letterman and Regis Philbin would just disappear from my tv sometime  They seem to think they are God's talented gifts to us

Current shows I LOVE:

CSI (original only, it's the best show on TV, Grissm is the greatest :D )

Everybody Loves Raymond (My favorite comedy of ALL TIME, Robert Barone is the funniest character ever, and Frank, Marie, Debra, and Ray are all pretty close. The jelousy Robert has for Raymond is Greatness!

Without a Trace JUST under CSI

Survivor yep I still watch this show. And I guess you can tell Thursday is my favorite night of TV

Bernie Mac Bernie's parenting is so funny and real. I really love his show. And it's following American Idol this year, so I expect a HUGE ratings boost :D

The Simpsons I'm With AMber I prefer the overly funny current version of the show. To me the very first season SUCKED. The show was boring and Homer just wasn't the Homer of Today. The show used to focus on Bart, now it's focused on Homer and that's who it should be focused on.

Family Guy I said CURRENT show cause It's coming back!!!! I can't decide whether I like TS of FG better, they both are very funny in different ways

South Park Yet another animated show I love. And I still can't decide between the 3. But I definitely think South Park is the winner of being the absolute smartest of the 3. This show makes so much danmed sense while being so danmed funny.

Chappels Show, SNL, and Mad TV all equally funny sketch shows. Although I'd say Chappele's my favorite of the 3 currently.

DAILY SHOW it's where I get MY news. I seriously start choking at times watching this show it's so funny.

Blue Collar TV It's nothing compared to their Stand Up Comedy movie, but I do love this show too, especially when my favorite, Ron White guest stars.

Yay! :wavey: I think Buffy sort of outstayed it's welcome, though. IMO, it should have ended when it was SUPPOSED to -- at the end of the 5th season. Of course, then we wouldn't have seen the musical episode (the one good episode of Season 6, aside from Normal Again) and the only good episodes of Season 7: Selfless, Conversations With Dead People. Of course, IMO. That didn't stop me from getting Season 6 on DVD, though. And I won't be able to survive without a shiny S7 DVD set to stand with all the other seasons. And can I just say right now that I HATED HATED H.A.T.E.D. the series finale? And Spike? Spike should have impaled himself on a chairleg or something after Season 2. Because, really. Why. Why do they torture me. He chewed the scenes. The show became All. About. Spike. And LEST WE FORGET. He has a soooooouuuulllll noooooowwww. www.stfu.omg. Die, Spike. Plz. Plz die. And then he had to go over to Angel? Gah. Someone hates me.

I came into Angel late. I started watching when it first started out, then lost interest. I came back in during the last few episodes of Season 4 and my GOD was it good. Hot damn. I remember when they thought they got Angel's soul back? And surprise! Dupe'D. That owned. I actually GASPED. I think there was an "AWESOME." or "HOMAHGAH." in there, too. And how cool was Illyria in the last season?

But anyway. I don't watch TV much anymore, now that Buffy and Angel are gone. I do watch and LOVE Dead Like Me, though. Hot damn that's a good show. They're sort of making everything up as they go along, but that's fine because it keeps us (the audience) guessing. While you obviously have great taste in general ;), I totally have to disagree with you on Buffy S6!!! The whole Dark Willow thing was probably one of my favorite arcs of the whole series!!!! And while I thought Spike worked well on Angel, he was definitely overused on Buffy's last two seasons...

As much as I love John Ritter, I have to be in the mood to watch 'Three's Company.' Sometimes I'll come across an episode and enjoy it, and other times I can't make it through the whole thing.
I definitely tend to prefer the earlier episodes with Suzanne Somers though. The ones I turn off are almost always the ones with Jennilee Harrison (the Gena Lee Nolin of her day) or Priscilla Barnes.

A couple years ago, somebody was playing 'Alice' in the afternoons. I think it was Spike-TV, back when they were still TNN (The Nashville Network/The National Network).
I loved it as a kid, but couldn't manage to sit through it as an adult.
Still loved the theme song though!

I had trouble tolerating 'The Greatest American Hero' when it was running on fX, too... but loved it as a kid.

I can still watch 'Wonder Woman,' 'The Incredible Hulk,' 'Bionic Woman,' 'Dark Shadows' (the 90s revival), and quite a number of old sitcoms.

That's been a huge complaint within the Simpsons fan community for several years now, and the current writing staff, etc., has been trying to gradually bringing it back to something closer to what it was before.

I still enjoy it immensely, but it is better to see less buffoonery and more heart. They used to do a brilliant job of walking that tightrope, and I think they can again.

That reminds me, you know what they should bring back for reruns? "Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman." That was a GREAT show. That one where Martin Mull just stared into the camera for 15 minutes straight was priceless.

American Gothic SO needs to be put on DVD, all 22 episodes.

Man, did I ever love that show. Every minute of it.
I was SO bummed when they cancelled it. I think that was the season directly after they cancelled 'Dark Shadows' (which was on Fridays, too, but on NBC), which I was already very disappointed about.

You know what though, TV Land played a couple episodes of that last year (or the year before), and I didn't get into it like I did when I was younger (sometimes I was allowed to stay up to watch Late-Night TV for a treat if it wasn't a school night).

The new Dark Shadows took awhile for me to get used to, but it was pretty good. But American Gothic was an immediate favorite. I've been praying for years that we'd get a movie or even a TV movie, considering that Sam Raimi was behind the show. They wrapped it up pretty well, but there are still lots of things left unanswered.

Another one I loved was "Friday the 13th: The Series."

My problem with Lost is that nothing happens. Absolutely NOTHING happens each week. The character backgrounds are incredibly dull, save the KOREAN ( ;) ) woman's story.

See, I think 'Lost' gets more and more interesting each week, as we get another "clue" or piece of the puzzle.

And as far as nothing happens... well, they are on an apparently deserted island, so they have to keep the show building for a while. If they do too much too soon, the show will peak and the won't have anywhere else to go with it.

At least that's my opinion. :)

Plus... it's more of a character study than an action-oriented piece, and that can often add to the vibe of "nothing happening."

Amber... the 'Simpsons' has (had?) a LOT of heart.
As much as the family fights, they love each other (witness episodes where Bart and Lisa look out for one another, or Homer takes two jobs to buy Lisa the pony she's always wanted, etc.).

There's even love for and from the "supporting cast" (Homer's friendship with Barney, the care Lisa has for Ralphie even though he drives her crazy, etc.).

The 'Simpsons' can actually be enjoyed on many levels... slapstick comedy, pop culture kitsch, pointed satire, reflection of family values (though definitely not the conservative idea of what "family values" means), and so on.

It's not "heart" in the 'Cosby Show' or 'Seventh Heaven' kind of way, but it's "heart" nonetheless.

Arrested Development- recently got into it after purchasing the first season on dvd. Its a REALLY funny show...I wish it could gte more ratings though.

Lost tonight was GREAT. They've got me hooked for next week with that teaser. I'm totally J.J. Abrams' bitch. He's even got me watching Felicity on DVD, for the love of god. (Uh, Felicity? is psycho. Everytime I watch a new episode I shake my head because she's *crazy* and they act like it's normal?)

Anyhow. I'm a lot more curious about Sawyer's real name than I am about whatever it was that Kate did. I could care less about her. I liked seeing Claire and the hobbit together. I think it'd be nice if something came out of that.

When I talk about "heart," I'm not talking about it like I want some Danny Tanner/Full House/Stephanie thinks she looks ugly with glasses and we should have a heart to heart about it types of moments. I don't like SAP- the Simpsons just used to have an emotional core that's missing in recent years. I cared about the characters, which made me love the show that much more. They're just caricatures now. Perhaps I'm silly for wanting a CARTOON to have an emotional core- but I'm not alone in being aggravated with it.

I mean, sure, it's still FUNNY- it's just lost a lot of the intelligence that used to make it what it is, now it's all buffoon-ish.

But what do I know? I'm watching Felicity on DVD (I wish there was a vomiting smiley)

You know whats interesting? The fact that after 16 YEARS of this show, we are still talking about it. It has broken record after record. No matter what, The Simspons will always have its place in TV histroy as one of the most inventive and original shows ever.

about how most US created animation no longer has any character's with an emotional base.

I like character's that are developed instead of being one-dimensional, Which to an extent has happened with the Simpson's (One of the main reason's I lost interest in the show about 4 years ago) and many other American animated shows.

I like how Japanese animators develop a character within a short time frame (Most animes run about 24-26 episodes in length) that you can relate to and cheer for...Instead of growing bored with.

Maybe my opinion has to do with that I grew up in a household full of comic book readers and how I long for American animation to develop the characters in the same fashion as comic book writers do.

Brian j.

ps-I remember being a Senior in high school when the Simpson's first premiered...And how it was very refreshing (I still occassionally watch older episodes...) compared to anything else on TV at the time, And how my Mom customized my Bart Simpson's "Eat My Shorts" t-shirt to say "Eat **** M.F.'s"

For all the American Gothic fans (I almost had a stroke when I read this because it's rahter recent news), Fathom Pictures might be going ahead with a movie:

A message from Craig A. Marquardo, President of Fathom Motion Picture Company:

-AG will be proceeding with the feature film and TV series rebirth, but not until the sale is final between Universal and NBC.

-Gary Cole, Nick Searcy, Brenda Bakke and Jake Webber will be reprising their roles. No others.

-Sean Cassidy will not be involved, although the premise, feel, and ambiance of the movie will follow his original vision.

-Sam Raimi (and Rob Tapert) are attached as producers. Sam said that once we are in a more forward position, he will consider directing, but in no way has that agreement happened as yet.

-Lucas Black, although one of our favorite actors, and having made the show, will not be participating in the film as Caleb. The age difference is simply too great. And no, we will not change the entire scope of the film to accomodate his now mature age. (Look for him in a cameo role as another charater perhaps? An idea we are talking about.)

http://www.ourdramaqueen.com/ag/NewsFeature.htm#News-26042004

Seeing as how the merger is complete, I'm optimistic. :D I'm a bit disappointed that Paige Turco and Lucas Black won't be participating somehow, but I'm content with having Jake Weber back because he was my favorite character.

http://www.moviehole.net/news/4523.html

We know his career is in the skidder, but is Ben Affleck so keen for work that he's kissing his Mrs feet for assistance.

The rumour mill has it that the one-time Matt Murdock is up for a guest role on "Alias", opposite Jennifer Garner.

The NY Post says Benny Boy is inking a deal to pop by Sidney's neighbourhood - and maybe for a couple of episodes.

And USA Today's Karen Thomas seconded that rumour.

Glendale, CA: Is Ben Affleck really going to be guest starring on Alias as quoted by the NY Post??

Karen Thomas: It looks solid.

'Kristin' from E Online doubts it's true. "It's exactly that, nonsense. At least, that's what the show's studio rep at Touchstone says, along with sources from Ben and Jen's camps. I would be very surprised if this one turns out to be true."

It's not surprising, his career is in the toilet, to make an appearance in his successful girlfriend's show is in order at this point... Well, if it would take him away from the big screen, it's a move I strongly approve. :D

You can only say that because you're not an Alias fan! ;) Don't wish him on us!!

The rumor about Affleck has been pretty much debunked, as far as I know. J.J.'s camp is categorically denying it. I can only hope they mean it. Alias has always had great non-hyped guest stars in the past. Even Quentin Tarantino's guest shots have been relatively non-intrusive. I'd throw up in my shoes if Affleck showed up there.

Only show I'll never tire of is Fawlty Towers.

Oh, gosh I love Fawlty Towers. All those Britcoms are great.

Seinfeld (I can not be happier the first 3 seasons are out on dvd in less than 2 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!) No more tv on dvd for you!
Finally! I can't BELIEVE that none of you were raving about the GREATEST SHOW OF ALL TIME! I'm relatively frugal, but would pay pretty much whatever the asked for the whole series run on DVD. They could have my first born to do another season! :distress:  :woohoo:

...and the Simpsons where they reinact three historical stories, plays, etc. ie, in the first one, Homer is Ulysses, then Lisa is joan d' Arc, then Bart is Hamlet...priceless.I agree--that stuff is great. I can't criticize the show at all when I see episodes like that. And I really don't think I've ever seen an episode that completely lacked "heart," though I have to say that I can't watch the first few seasons because I really think they have too much of it.

Shows I Can't Believe I Loved When I Was a Kid
"Step by Step"
"Family Matters"
"Full House"
"Bewitched"
"I Dream of Jeannie"
"The Secret Life of Alex Mack" (Nickelodeon showed some crap)
"America's Funniest Home Videos"

Stuff That I Don't Hate but Can't Understand Why I Enjoyed So Much
"Rocko's Modern Life"
"Star Trek" (the original one)
"Mad About You"
"My So-Called Life"
"Today's Special" (short run on Nickelodeon)
"Roundhouse" (see above)
"Dawson's Creek" (I was obsessed in high school and I can't justify it now)

The Only Shows I Still Watch with Any Regularity
"The Daily Show"
"Mystery Science Theater 3000" (even though it was cancelled five years ago I still watch it more than pretty much everything else)

I Sometimes Watch
the crap on VH-1 ("I Love place decade here") and so on
"The Simpsons"
"That 70s Show" (but not the most recent seasons)
"Aqua Teen Hunger Force"
"Mary Tyler Moore" (that's if I can find reruns of it)

There you have it--more than anyone wanted to know.

Brian "Frylocke" j.I haven't seen it recently, but the first couple of seasons cracked me up. I don't think I've seen much past the first two. (How many are there?) The Mooninites are my faves!

You're right :sorry: , i shouldn't wish him to anyone, it's a bad karma. I wouldn't like to see him come back with a vengeance in a movie by Ang Lee or with Anthony Hopkins, it wouldn't be funny :distress: ;)
